It's been years since I've had a McDonalds burger because I didn't much like them before, so that doesn't appeal to me. But their fries and a Cadbury McFlurry (!) are another story. I'd gladly eat meal #1 from another restaurant. It doesn't have to be fine dining or a foodie place, just food I actually want to eat. I'd eat…

People are going to judge you based on whatever criteria they want to. You can't do a thing about it. All you can control are your own actions and reactions. Don't waste your energy worrying about what complete strangers think of you.

I agree with a lot of what's already been said. Please work up to courage to hit the weight room. It took me a while to make it there myself and then I wondered why in the world I had been scared and wasted so much time. Start with the basics and low weights if you need to but don't be afraid to pick up the heavier ones as…

Greek yogurt Cottage cheese Cheese cheese Roasted chickpeas Homemade protein bars Peanut butter High protein cereal like Kashi Milk Nuts (if you've got room for fat) I don't have it often but jerky would be good if you don't mind the sodium.

I am too lazy to make myself a good workout playlist. I used to listen to Peaches "I Feel Cream" album on my runs but lately I listen to audiobooks or podcasts in the gym. Right now it's "Cloud Atlas" but I'm almost finished with it.

Have you lost your gorram mind!? Hahaha, didn't even faze me when I first read through. I'm at maintainance, too. I keep my calorie goal at 1800 but I keep my lower limit in mind at 1600. I can stop around there if I don't feel hungry, but that hardly ever happens. For me it's also about keeping an eye on my macros which…

Thank you! I just got my squat to 100 lb and would really like to keep working out so I don't lose too much strength. I could definitely use some work on my hamstrings and glutes because I have trouble getting low. I'll check out the bodybuilding links after work. Before I even got injured I was thinking about picking up a…

Yes, running does burn more calories per mile than walking. Those numbers include BMR calories. Approximate exercise only calories per mile are walking calories = .30 x your body weight in pounds running calories = .63 x your body weight in pounds It's not exact but I do I quick calculation using that to make sure my…

What measurements have you been taking? Just the waist? You are losing inches somewhere since your clothes are fitting looser, just not where you happen to be measuring.

Dark chocolate covered almonds. Or cheesy toast.

I log my weight once a week, same day, same time. But I step on the scale several times a week. I think it's good to see the normal fluctuations, how long it takes for the water weight to come off after a big night out, etc. I'm glad you're going to start taking measurements, I find it is a better indicator of your…

Try to make reasonable estimations. I know you've just started, but as you get more practice with weighing and measuring the food that you prepare at home, you'll be better able to recognize what 4 oz. of chicken, 1 cup green beans, etc. looks like. I always add more oil or butter to the calculation than I know I use at…

It really varies but lately I think I've been averaging around 65 g per day. My goal is 50 and I see that as a minimum, though I don't always get there.

I agree that you should try using it in protein bars or other baked goods. I use unflavored powder, but you can add so many things to a protein bar to cover up the taste. Have you tried adding cocoa powder to the shakes?

Great work!

Slow clap for this lady. As long as the person leaving isn't bring disruptive to the other attendees (who are spending their precious time and money at the gym, just the same as her), I don't see what the problem is. There are some classes where the instructor will ask that people not come in after a certain time for…

The only reason I can see for stopping eating at a certain time is if its hard to sleep we'll on a full stomach, not usually a problem for me. I'm often grabbing a handful of chocolate almonds on my way to bed.

Protein and fat (as long as it doesn't put me over calories.). I'm also happy to be over on fiber, vitamins, and iron. ETA I don't even look at sugar, I'm always over.

Do whatever you are comfortable with. I mean, how scandalous is your sports bra? It is getting hot enough that I'm considering taking my shirt off but I have to weigh against the need to slather all that extra skin with sunscreen.

I count it all. Even when I'm not making a 500 calorie salad, those vegetables have calories. They also have vitamins and fiber that I want to keep track of.

I buy 2% milk, yogurt, and cottage cheese. That's about as "diet" as I go.

Maybe that's just the problem, she's worried you are more attractive than her now. I creeped your "I look good!" thread and you really do. Honestly, it's her problem not yours. Just do whatever you need to do for your personal health (like you told her) and maintaining a pleasant working environment.

Happy Birthday! I am turning 30 in September and about this time last year I decided I was really going to make a push for a healthy 30. I didn't have a lot to lose so got to "goal weight" fairly quickly but have been spending the last several months works working on strength and always trying to learn more about…

if you are really missing the flavor but want to cut down you could try using meat as flavoring rather than the main part of your meal. If you don't eat meat at all make sure you are getting enough protein and iron from other foods. I am not vegetarian, just don't usually eat a lot of meat. I personally don't like "meat…

Is there a reason you suddenly switched to not eating meat or less meat?

During the week it's about 400 - Kashi, Greek yogurt, protein powder, and fruit. Or a smoothie. Plus coffee and creamer. On the weekend it's more like 500 - eggs and toast with bacon or pancakes or some kind of biscuity thing.

That is a great link, thank you! I've been making some yummy banana chocolate chip protein bars lately but looking to change it up a bit. I've never tried beans in bars before, but am intrigued. OP, I understand the convenience of buying protein bars and still do it sometimes but if you've got a little extra time I really…

Your goal for drinking water should be to be hydrated. Your urine should be pale yellow to clear in color. There is no set number, 64 oz is often used as a guide so if you really don't know where to start try 64 and adjust as needed. If you eat foods with a lot of water content you can drink less. If it's very hot, you…

I've never liked cottage cheese with sweet foods, always go for savory. I often have cottage cheese just with a lot of fresh black pepper (also really good with zaatar.) I'll mix it with salsa or hot sauce for a chip dip. Slice up tomatoes and cucumbers and whatever other veggies you like and mix it in with the cottage…
