Mine automatically updates/syncs. Occasionally, if I have passed through an area with a poor signal, I have to get to the app page where there is an option that says "sync now"and that does the trick. I agree though that the Android app is great -- especially the scanning option so we don't have to type a single letter!…

Agreed. That said, I love my Droid X because (1) all of my apps were free (I cringe at the thought of paying for an app), (2) better microphones/noise cancellation, (3) bigger screen which rocks when watching television or movies (and college football!!!!), (4) better speaker phone (I use that a lot), (5) increased ability…

Amen. Folks never like to hear this, but the only way to "reveal" your abs is to reduce your body fat. There are no spot exercises that'll give you ripped abs if they're covered with fat.

Your abs are a muscle group like all the others. And just like the others, they benefit from 48 resting hours. It's best to give 'em a day off between workouts. That's what's being taught now -- and they're making a point to ensure trainers are aware of this so they don't perpetuate the outdated "you can work your abs…

I've read more on this subject than anyone should ever have to read. Everyone comes out thinking differently on this issue, but in a nutshell, I do drink decaf diet sodas. I don't drink a lot of them, just because I am a fan of iced tea (decaf also) and because I drink so much water (and some of the zero calorie flavored…

We've been raising Quarter Horses in north Texas for 12 years now and I FINALLY have a show horse (home grown!). He's at the trainers place a few states away, but the reports are exciting. Can't wait to get him back. Time to turn over the arena!!! Exciting for me and another motivation for me to keep on track.

Check out the "Hungry Girl" cocktails and cocktail party foods book. Super simple recipes and 100% of them have been a "hit" so far. Plus .... if you are a chocolate/coconut lover like I am, there's a recipe in there for an amazing Mounds Martini. Yummo!

Yup. For me to be helpful in any meaningful way, I'd have to see what you are eating (and know that you are recording everything and know if you are measuring, and if so, how ... measuring cups, a digital scale, or ?). :drinker:

Oh ... the comments on here about shorter cooking times, made me want to remind you that the different brands call for different cooking times. The kind I buy (admittedly overpriced, but my favorite) call for 50 minutes of cooking time, so 45 minutes leaves them with a "bite", while other brands that I've tried only need…

For me, it's as simple as just answering their question. Nothing more -- no lectures or rants like we sometimes see. If someone other than the OP (like the mother you encountered) has an issue, I don't give it a second thought since my goal was simple: only to answer the OP's question so her journey toward a healthier her…

I think that she's right -- some folks like it and others don't. I love the stuff myself. Made some for my sister and she thought it was "ucky." But that changed when she added a touch of brown sugar and gave it another try. Now she's hooked. I haven't tried the slow cooker method, but just do mine on the stove top and…

Agree with the advice to find a good running shoe store to get fitted properly. The ONLY thing that matters is that the shoe you get is right for YOU. What works for someone else, can be devastating to you. Don't give up on the professional fitting approach. That's truly the way to go. My running shoe store is 1.5 hours…

The rules change up for those who are close to their weight goals. This may help you figure out a better approach: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/TrainerRobin/view/myth-or-fact-calories-in-versus-calories-out-3500-calories-one-pound-and-should-i-eat-my-exercise-calories-62012

I've been known to wear my running clothes to bed and lay my shoes and socks next to my bed so that by the time I get to the bathroom, I'm completely geared up. I stagger to the treadmill and turn the early morning show, on and walk till I'm awake. Then I'm up for a run and when I'm done, it's so nice!!

I didn't have a lot of cellulite to start with (amazingly) but on me, it DID disappear. :) Yay!!

My daughter's approach: Go to bed. My approach: (1) Determine what KIND of hungry I am by asking myself whether ANYTHING will do (which means PHYSICAL hunger) or whether I have a craving for something specific (which means EMOTIONAL hunger). (2) If I'm physically hungry, I'll find a healthy small snack to eat and then log…

That's awesome. :) And yes, they'll be inspired. My gym was so excited to have me come on board as a trainer, after losing so much weight because there are SO many women and men, who don't want to work with a perky, young trainer who has never experienced the challenges involved in transforming oneself from obese to a…

Amen. Good answer (as usual). :)

Awesome job, girl! Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work!!!!

I do. I take the chewable milk chocolate Viactiv ones. They are only 20 calories and I pretend they are yummy chocolates (they're not but ...). I need the calcium per my doctor. I try to get enough through nonfat dairy that I only need one of the chews daily, instead of two. Most of the time, I make it.

Easy. I put an empty bowl on the digital kitchen scale and tare it. Then I dump my pot of chili into the bowl and note the number of grams. Then I put a clean bowl on the scale and hit tare, add however much chili I want, and then note how many grams. Divide the weight of the entire batch of chili by the weight of the…

Agreed. That's about where I fall too, although I may vary anywhere within the RANGE endorsed by the Cooper Institute (Fat: 20% to 35%, Protein 10% to 35%, and Carbs 45% to 65%), depending on my activity, goals and just "life." Those ranges have worked GREAT for me in terms of losing a significant number of pounds (close…

Take anyone's recommendations about what brands to buy or avoid with a grain of salt because we are all constructed different and have different movement/dynamics. Because of that fact, it's critical that you get yourself professionally fitted at a running shoe store (not to be confused with all of the general sporting…

I'd suggest seeing your doctor to rule out any serious issues, and then head directly to your local running store. Not your sports store, but a local store that caters to runners. They should be equipped to do a serious analysis of your feet/stride. Expect them to video you from behind on a treadmill, do some balance…

There is no "one size fits all answer" to this one. The truth is that it depends. Maybe this will help: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/TrainerRobin/view/myth-or-fact-calories-in-versus-calories-out-3500-calories-one-pound-and-should-i-eat-my-exercise-calories-62012

Cardiotrainer on my DroidX is almost exactly what my $399 Garmin 310XT reports. :)
