  • There are all kinds of food-related associations we all have. Things that 'go together' in our minds. For you, snacking and Netflix go together. To simplify it, you have two choices -- either work to break this association or modify it so it doesn't negatively impact your weight loss journey. Most folks find it easier and…
  • Happy to help all that I can. Friends make this journey enjoyable -- instead of torture. :) I'm having to re-lose significant weight myself after surgery, and as someone with no excuses (certified personal trainer and certified nutrition coach) I have ZERO excuses. I leaned on post-surgery recovery and Covid at first, but…
  • Sure, add me. Happy to help as much as I can. :)
  • Sure! Add me. Happy to help you the best I can. :) Helping others, helps ME stay on track too.
  • A friendly welcome and invite to fellow women MFP users who* are supportive and have a sense of humor, * track their food in their MFP diaries up even when they have a crazy (yikes!) food day, * will set their food diary to 'share with friends' and want to take a peek at their friends' diaries, * know this is a journey and…
  • Hi LJ. I'm Robin (female ... I guess my name could go both ways, lol) and I'm 5'7" at 211, down from 235 about a month ago with the same 160 goal weight as you. If you want to pair up, I'm game!! Robin
  • I downloaded the audio book and listened to that. Then realized that I needed to get the print version so I could better map out my plan of action. It should arrive tomorrow. The reviews on the workbook were poor so I didn't get that. What are you using Maggie?
  • Hello. I'm so happy to find all of you! :) I just joined your group Christabelle66 and introduced myself. Is that still an active group? http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10209106/new-here-a-quick-introduction
  • I'm right there with you, so you are not alone. All of these folks' comments show that you're not alone and in fact, are in good company. I suspect that most of us here on MFP have done this dance before. Keeping it off is the hardest part, for me. I'm just getting back at it too (after regaining 40 of the pounds I lost)…
  • I'm right there with you, so you are not alone. And I suspect that most of us here on MFP have done this dance before. Keeping it off is the hardest part for me. I'm just getting back at it too and, in fact, about five minutes ago started a new group called "The Revolving Door." If you think having the support of folks who…

  • You're not alone! In fact, I JUST now started a group called "The Revolving Door". You can find it under the "groups" section. I'm right there with you. I managed to let myself gain back most of the weight that I'd lost and now I get to start over again. Today is a new day and tomorrow, I'll be lighter. One day at a time.…
  • We bought ours about three years ago -- it's a Lance Armstrong Treadmill (didn't buy it for the name or looks but did so after a lot of consumer reports research), and we love it. Both of us run on it regularly and have put hundreds of miles on it. It's still holding up well and solid (no rattles or jiggles and the motor…

  • Yep, what she said. I use the "recipe" feature for anything that I eat more than once -- add all the ingredients just once (takes a few minutes but you're set after that) and voila -- you can enter the food whenever you encounter it.
  • Yes, yes, yes. Just google "body weight workout" and you'll find a myriad of workout routines and exercises that'll let you get a total body workout without a single piece of equipment. :)
  • Welcome! Rather than recite the answer here, I hope this will help you out. :) Good luck!! Robin http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/TrainerRobin/view/myth-or-fact-calories-in-versus-calories-out-3500-calories-one-pound-and-should-i-eat-my-exercise-calories-62012#comments
  • I've tried Chrome (used to use it all the time) and that' won't even load the site at all. Just cycles endlessly. Firefox worked once but never again . Loads a scrambled version of the site but won't let you log in at all. Internet Explorer wouldn't work but today I got it to come up. Wouldn't let me sign in regularly so,…
  • Thank you VERY much!!
  • If I've "earned the gain" by poor eating or not tracking or just not exercising, then YES, I do. It holds me accountable and allows for the proper calculation of my caloric needs based on my new weight. But, if I've been "on track" and it appears to be a fluctuation, NO, I don't. :)
  • Thanks for sharing! I'm going to try this one!!!
  • My favorite is cottage cheese, fresh blueberries and fresh lemon zest. Add a packet of sweetner and a tiny dash of lemon juice and it's delicious!!!
  • While it's true that there is a "fat burning zone" where your body will burn a high PERCENTAGE of fat, but that old adage has gone the way of the buggy with new information and knowledge. Up-to-date trainers will have you go for the maximum NUMBER of calories burned. Think of it this way (this is an example, and I'm using…
  • Well said. :) If there is a silver lining here, it's that it'll open folks eyes to the fact that even if you've escaped them so far, there often ARE consequences to our daily choices. Just a gentle reminder to suggest that it might not be a good idea to eat in Paul Deen's style regularly ...
  • I'll know next month -- we're renting paddleboards for the week we're in Key West next month. I'm super excited to try it -- looks like so much fun!!!
  • Maybe this will help. :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/TrainerRobin/view/beating-your-plateau-some-tips-for-success-99882
  • You're learning, through your calculations, why we recommend taking what it says on the label of any prepared food (any combination of items rather than one item) and multiplying it by 1.2 to get closer to the actual caloric content. This is especially true of the foods we eat that are prepackaged (e.g., frozen entrees,…
  • This may help: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/TrainerRobin/view/beating-your-plateau-some-tips-for-success-99882 Good luck to you! Hang in there and keep at it! :)
  • Yes, yes, yes! My hubby, my daughter and I always come back from a cruise (usually 7 to 8 days) lighter and darker! :) It so can be done. If you simply don't look at it as a food fest and instead embrace the healthful food that's there. My big helper is really the big "salad bar" style area that starts with tons of fresh…
