New Here. A quick Introduction.
Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I've logged onto MFP and I did so, specifically to search for a group that was utilizing the Beck's CBT approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. I'm happy to have found y'all. I'm surrendering to this approach because for me, it's literally all in my head. I have no…

So many folks have posted information on MFP about whether to eat their exercise calories or not, and I provided my answer but never previously provided the WHY behind my approach. I hope this information helps answer that question in part, but the other question it addresses is whether the simple "calories in versus…

Can You Fix a Food for Me? Help!
I've "upgraded" my laptop to Windows 8 and since doing that, many features of the MFP website are unavailable -- one of those is that I can no longer correct a food that's been input incorrectly. I just entered a food "TrainerRobin Pink Grapefruit Flesh Only (grams)" but inadvertently entered the serving size as 100 grams.…

Great Restaurant for Healthy Eaters w/a Cool Website Tool
Just returned from Jason's Deli -- a great place to be as good (or as bad) as you want to be and still enjoy a delicious lunch. The best part may be the restaurant's website. It has a feature where you build a meal (much like Chipotle has) where you add all of the items you've eaten, with a quick click of the mouse, and it…

What is YOUR Wagon?
Let's see if I can explain this one -- it's one of the two revelations that helped me transition from a lifelong dieter to someone who made a genuine lifestyle change four years ago. For years, when I'd diet, it would last for months and I'd have good success in losing weight but then I'd fall off the "wagon" and eat…

TrainerRobin's Question re Calorie Burn
Okay, I've answered a number of questions on MFP. Now it's my turn to ask y'all for your feedback! The advice I'm looking for is reputable academic/medical studies/research on the issue, not general opinions. Being from the fitness industry, I get (and give) plenty of that. I'm looking for some specific…

Just Tried a New Product: Mio Liquid
I saw the commercial on television and saw it yesterday at the local Walmart. Its the new Mio Liquid Water Enhancer. I picked up the Berry Pomegranate flavor and just tried it. Zero calories and tasty, but what I like the best is the ability to squirt just a little into your water or a lot. I might want it stronger for a…

I'm going on a "Scale Diet" -- want to join me? LOL
I am one of those people who weighs themselves every day and it's not a problem -- I' okay with seeing fluctuations up and down and stay focused. Workout/Lifting Apps?
I have found one app that I like for lifting/resistance training (JEFIT),but I'm wondering if you have any others that might be even better.
