There's no best range. Just go exercise!0

There really isn't one. Interval training has been shown to burn more calories than steady-state cardio, so maybe give that a try. Exercise isn't going to melt the fat off of you, weight loss really is 80% about proper diet. But it's still important.. just get out there and get your heart rate up, and you'll reap the benefits!0

Thanks, im not really use to being in the gym...the first 50lbs i lost in the record Texas heat riding my bike from June - September and even did a couple of 60k benefit rides. I never paid attention to my heart rate when im riding just listened to the music and peddled.0

I read it is 60% to 85% of your max heart rate. Your max is 220 minus your age. 60% bring the low end, 85% is obviously the high end.0

While it's true that there is a "fat burning zone" where your body will burn a high PERCENTAGE of fat, but that old adage has gone the way of the buggy with new information and knowledge. Up-to-date trainers will have you go for the maximum NUMBER of calories burned.
Think of it this way (this is an example, and I'm using hypothetical numbers): If you burn 200 calories and 80% of them are fat, then you've eliminated 160 calories in fat. But if you burn at a higher heart rate and burn 500 calories, where 70%of them are fat, then you've burned 350 fat calories. One "mode" is never ideal. Shake it up and don't be afraid to push yourself and torch those calories at a higher rate than the so-called "fat burning" mode.
Hope that makes sense ...0 -
