  • Oh man, I freaking love eggs... I eat 2 every day! (My family does not have a history of bad cholesterol that I am aware of and I plan on checking in with a doctor once we settle down and can GET a doctor, haha). So far so good for me! It helps me stay full much longer, I think, and they are so delicious poached with a…
  • Days like this suck!! Hang in there! There's a lot of good advice here, especially looking at your other victories!! I almost lost it today when I saw I'd gained back 1.5 lbs, but I chose to focus on the fact that my inches are still steadily shrinking AND that I kicked Week 2 of C25K in the butt!! I never could have done…
  • Seriously, men. Pay attention to these words of wisdom! ;) That's awesome, whylee!! I love when my hubby compliments me, it takes the sting right out of the number on the scale! =)

  • That is awesome!! That's another one of my "Not-Quite-Non-Scale-Victory" goals haha! One is a healthy BMI, one is to weigh less than my husband!
  • I tried to blame my weight gain on birth control but my doctor told me that wasn't the case... I still have a hard time believing her. But it's been two years since I made a serious effort to lose weight (before my wedding) and two years can make a difference in one's metabolism I guess. =P I've also noticed it seems…
  • That's awesome!! Losing weight is as much about strengthening your willpower as it is your body, haha!
  • Water is good, eating smaller meals or snacks throughout the day, and having a regular daily routine will help I think! Whatever you do, make sure your eating habits are something you can sustain for a lifetime!
  • I eat 3 meals (big breakfast, decent lunch, big dinner... I know ideally it's big breakfast, decent lunch, small dinner, but that way I don't snack all night), and eat a mid-morning snack (usually fruit) and sometimes a mid-afternoon snack. If I don't have those snacks I'm miserable and I overeat at meals! Maybe you should…
  • Avocados are gooooooood.... eat up! =)
  • I try to find balance with these two ideas: 1) Everything in Moderation 2) Be Grateful The purpose of food is to fuel your body. The gift of food is the wonderful variety of flavors and textures and pairings and art involved in preparing, tasting, and enjoying it! I am grateful that I get to taste and enjoy everything. But…
  • My methods: 1) Try to go on a fun hike, fail, realize you need to get in shape yesterday. 2) Take bikini "before" pictures. Shock yourself into action. 3) Eat what you love, but learn to love a little less of it (and therefore love it MORE! Less=more). 4) Do what you love, if it be walking, swimming, bike rides, bird…
  • hahaha, that's awesome! It's wonderful when your stomach, tongue & brain agree on what is the best thing for you. XD
  • I agree with this. If you are looking to make a lifestyle change, learn to like fresh coffee and natural sweeteners instead of coffee flavored sugar drinks, haha. ;) I still like International Delight creamers in my fresh ground/brewed coffee, but I am trying to wean myself off of it to enjoy just honey & cream, or even…
  • Awesome!! Keep it up!!

  • WATER WATER WATER AND ROUTINE!! If I guzzle a big glass of water then take a shower if I need it that usually sets me straight. =) I also cook my breakfast every morning (I eat 1/2 c of yogurt while I wait for my eggs to poach, coffee to brew, and bread to toast). This process works well for me, and usually my brain &…
  • It would be easier to tell in stronger lighting (strong light is the bane of a self-conscious person because it shows off every crevice & curve, haha) but you can see definition in your waist area! Great!
  • This is just my opinion, which will be opposite of every runner on MFP's opinion: I've been doing C25K for a week in the shoes I've had for almost 10 years. We'll see how it goes a few weeks in (I may be begging for an upgrade), but I don't plan on being a serious runner, so I'm not going to invest in shoes unless I decide…
  • Hmmm, maybe I need to look into my iron levels... I've been craving rare steak like crazy, haha!
  • Here's my plan, for the record... =) * Exercise (C25K, yoga, and continuing to add more pushups & crunches as I get stronger) 6X/week * Continued Calorie Counting * Slowly cutting more carbs & sugars and adding fresh fruits and vegetables * Eliminating "grazing" on crackers & snack foods and replacing with snacking on…
  • I make sure to get exercise in the mornings 6X a week (a more strenuous cardio/strength training in the form of pushups & crunches 3X a week and yoga 4X a week), walk whenever I can (don't park in the closest spot in the parking lot!), and just watch what I'm eating. The calorie counter here has helped a lot with that! I…
  • I definitely recommend before shots!! I took some just for myself in a bikini too so I can really see the difference. =)
  • Thanks everyone!! =D It's crazy how it seemed to happen overnight... I was just about ready to give up but a few days later I did a double take in the mirror and could see some positive results. =D
  • Wow! What's your secret?? I bruise like a banana & my skin sucks. I drink the recommended 8 glasses of water daily... do you know what has helped aside from overall healthy habits?
  • GOOD advice! I take Sundays "off" which makes it easier to say no during the week. Also, I try to plan on making or getting foods (that are better for me than pizza) for dinner or dessert that I can look forward to every day that fit into my calorie & health goals, so that when I say NO to a crappy store bought cookie from…
  • Ooh, I'm in! My Labor Day goal is to be at a healthy BMI! (Which, at my current rate of weight loss, I should just barely be able to make! I would be right on the threshold of healthy & unhealthy, haha). Most of my adult life I have not been at a healthy BMI and I want to reverse that and make it the reality for the rest…
  • Also, as long as your goal puts you in a healthy BMI you are golden! =)
  • Well for one thing, I've heard that if you're losing that fast it's really easy to gain it back. A good recommended goal is about a pound a week. It's slow going but it will stay off if you keep it up! As far as wanting variety, I think that is a GOOD thing to pursue! Find lots of activities you enjoy and mix it up! Some…
  • I have a higher goal than some girls my height too. What weight looks good on what body varies hugely! So I say get to your first goal and then reevaluate. That's what I'm going to do, mostly because of the same reasons as you. =)
