I usually do my runs at the forest preserve so when I'm done, I walk the remainder of the trail, stretch at the end, mark that day as complete and go home. On off days, I try to do something like JM 30 day shred or Hip Hop Abs. Other days, i may just be lazy and relax around the house :-)

Timed, just to get me used to running. Once I finish the program, I'll restart and focus on distance.

It seems that I have had this problem forever. Monistat has a chaffing cream that goes on clear and makes the thighs glide against each other. In the summertime it is my best friend. I've haven't tried he Body Glide but will look for it too.

I was around 205 when I started. It was very difficult for me the first week. I kept coming back here reading everyone's post and realized that I was running or trying to run too fast. The first week was a lot of gasping, wheezing and coughing for me. I slowed it down to a pace that I probably could walk faster and it made…

I started C25K at 207lbs. My advice for you is to run slow. When I first started, I had problems breathing and felt as though I couldn't get through the 90 seconds and definitely never thought I would get through 3 or 5 minutes so I started reading through the group posts. Everyone's advice was to run slow and if I thought…

I started in May and will graduate next week. I'm also running an 18 minute mile. Good to know that if I keep it up it will get better

Feet felt like cement. It's hard to run slow. Impossible if I run faster. Was praying for strength & about to quit this time but you know what?! God is great!!! Week 8 Day 3 DONE!!!!
-
Congratulations! You'll finish the program strong!! As for me, W8D2 - Done!

I think I'm the slowest so far (17 min mile) but I'm good with that. I've taken the advice that was given here and by definition, I'm running (both feet off the ground). I started off a lot faster than that but could not finish the intervals. Once I slowed it down, it made a huge difference. I was able to finish the…

Hi Everyone! My name is Sandra and I'm excited to be a part of this group. I was a huge fan of the before and after pic thread that was unfortunately closed. So happy that this group has been created. It is wonderful to be able to get encouragement and feedback from those that are similar to you or have some insight to…

Completed W7D3 this morning. Felt great. Even thought I could run a little more but didn't push it. Looking forward to W8 this week.

Completed W6D3 yesterday and W7D1 this morning. Now its time to rest. Will probably walk the route tomorrow and try W7D2 Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm still extremely slow (18 min/mile) but it felt really good today when someone walking suggested that I could burn more fat walking briskly than running (she actually thought I…

Just completed W6D2. I paced myself slowly for the first 10 minutes and when I got to the second 10 minutes, I felt like I couldn't make it. I just kept telling myself, "You did the 20 minute run, you can do this". Then I kept choosing landmarks to make it to before I would give myself permission to stop. Then I kept…

I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! I completed Week 5 Day 3, the infamous 20 minute run. I may be the slowest ever at 3.3 mph but considering 5 weeks ago, I could barely do a 60 sec jog...this is absolutely amazing to me. Not only did I complete the run but I had no wheezing from my asthma and my legs felt great, not like…

I love their Sunflower Seed Butter.

Week 4 DONE!!!! Slow is the key! Told my friend who was also having a hard time. We worked together today and she tried it and loved it! Now I definitely have a running buddy. Looking forward to week 5!!! I'm really starting to think I can do this!!
-
Thanks, I thought that maybe I had slowed it down too much. The slow pace is great for my breathing, it was the best ever! I'll keep that pace and work my way through. So looking forward to each run now and not afraid
-
I've read that week 4 may seem difficult if you are not at a slow enough pace. Several people said that you can go slower than you think. I thought I was going slow enough but decided to give it a try and slow down for W4D1. I actually jogged slower than I walked and sure enough, I was able to get through both 3 min jogs…

Just completed W3D3 and honestly didn't think I could. When I first started W1D1 was hard for me so completing Week 3 was AMAZING! I'm so looking forward to Week 4. Trying not to psych myself out and just do it. I think the key for me is to just jog slowly to try to make it through. If I try to jog at the pace that I see…

I used to take Flonase, Zyrtec and another allergy med. every single day (365 days a yr). I was not trying to lose weight at the time but I also did not gain weight. Currently, I take Rhinocort every day and Zyrtec as needed and this has not been a problem as far as trying to lose weight. If you need it to breathe, I would…

You look MARVELOUS!!!! Rock that suit!!!! :flowerforyou:

15 minutes on treadmill and 14 min of Hip Hop Abs! That's almost a half hour workout! You did great! Try to do it at least 3 times a week. Then add a minute like suggested. You have to start somewhere and you did -GREAT JOB! Just do not, DO NOT, give up. It will get better and feel better. Just keep going...you'll see :-)
-
Pure inspiration! Thanks for posting!

I'm in my 40's as well. I enjoy Shaun T's Hip Hop Abs. The workout flies, is not hard on the knees and hasn't bored me yet. There are about 2-3 DVD's with the workout set so you can switch it up, do more than one a day, etc. I believe he also has other workouts that can lead you up to Insanity if that is the route you want…

My mouth just fell open when I read your post. We had exactly the same measurements and weight!!! I was thinking about starting a Couch 2 5K but wasn't sure if it would make a difference. After seeing your photos, I can't wait to start. Very inspiring! Thank you again for posting!

Everyone looks so great! Thanks for the thread. I'm just starting out at 5'4", 204lbs and need all the encouragement I can get. Goal weight is 145.
