This is my first time *officially* doing the Open. Last year, I'd been on doing CrossFit for 2 weeks before it began, so I did everything scaled: weights and movements. My coach asked me to register and I did -- Masters Women 40-44 -- and it's been tough because although I can RX the weights, there are still movements I…

PR'd my deadlift at 235 yesterday.

My toes actually tapped the bar today. A T2B? Me? I was shocked. Only 1 in each set of 5 (3 rounds), but I'm still happy.

Rooting for her and Sam Briggs. I went and watched the Masters Competition today. LOVED IT!! Especially the 60+ Men and Women. How frickin' bad *kitten* are they to be going strong at that age. As a latecomer to CrossFit (I'll be 42 in November), I found them so inspirational.

DITTO!! I commend you for taking on that challenge! Our box is tiny (around 60 people) and I am THE absolute slowest at burpees. A few months back when our WOD B for the day was 100 burpees, it took all the strength I had to not walk right out the door. Took me 14:42 to get them all done. The fastest person did them in…

Do you kip or are you strict?

It happened this Tuesday! Only 2 at a time, but it's coming along. As for lifts, we've been doing one 1RM a week. Last week it was Back Squat (163 lbs) and this week Front Squat (155), that's +30 and +32 lbs respectively for those PRs. I also PR'd my deadlift this week at 205 lbs (6x3), but it wasn't a 1RM.

Yay! Being inverted is a BIG thing for me as an adult.

Gonna incorporate both of these. As for the OP, I've been doing CrossFit since February 11th and *just* got my first DU two weeks ago. Don't know how I did it, but kept practicing and now getting them more consistently, and faster. THIS week, I've been able to string 2 together. It's coming along slowly, but slow progress…

4.5 months into CrossFit and I scored my first DU last week. Not stringing any together yet, but hopefully by the end of the summer.

"Fran" (scaled @ 53 lbs) 5 rounds of power cleans (@ 63 lbs) and burpees "Grace" or "Isabel" (our choice) -- I chose "Grace" (scaled @ 63 lbs) since I abhor snatches

Posting though I don't have an answer, since this is exactly where I am and I'm curious about responses. I've been doing CrossFit for four months now, and definitely building strength, and I've lost some pounds and MANY inches but I also need to lose some more fat-weight. I see the body changes and get many comments from…

LOL. And after you knock him out with the boulder, you can do this!

If you have a smart phone, there are free apps that contain all the WODs. You can choose which you want to do or some (paid) have a feature that'll let you tell it what equipment you have at hand and it'll throw you a WOD using those materials. They also have journal features where you can keep track of your PRs and…

Why are you holding the ENTIRE CrossFit world to what ONE box posts for ONE workout? If you have a problem with what this particular CrossFit box posted on their Facebook page, why not take up the issue with them, where it belongs? Using this single instance of a workout you personally disagree with as an example of your…

This has to be one of my favorite threads EVER! Right after his other thread referenced herein. =)

Be careful: the poster formerly known as Health_Gal will spam anyone who does or is interested in CrossFit. We've all had to report and block her for harassment. That said, WELCOME! We have a community here -- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/116-crossfit-love -- on MFP.

I just now looked this one up. O.M.F.G.!! There's no way I'd ever finish that during class time. I'd guess it'd take me about 3 hours, lol.

We haven't done too many named WODs in my four months, but... I like "Cindy" and "Angie". I also dig anything Tabata. We did "Lumberjack 20" today and I liked it though it was long (cuz I run slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter). I also liked "The Bear Complex" despite having trouble keeping…

Great post! Even though I track measurements and body fat%, it's been a struggle to let go of that "scale number".

Oooh! I do hope people recommend some good boxes. I'll be going home for two weeks next summer for my 25th high school reunion and I've already started trying to find a good box so I can book a hotel nearby. Gotta get in my WODs!

I agree. The Paleo Diet just isn't for me. Eating less (and ultimately little-to-no) processed foods is a wonderful goal that I think can benefit everyone regardless of which diet they're following. A Paleo Diets issn't maintainable for me as my body simply can't process all the constant meat and my energy plummets with…

AWESOME!

Deadlift PR this evening: 183 lbs.

I'm 1.5 years post-partial-hysterectomy and I've noticed that it's been much harder to lose weight. Losing 2-3 pounds each week with nothing but an hour on the elliptical most days was a breeze before. Yes, I'm older. But I'm working out like I've never done before in my life and it's been such a slllloooowwww process and…

What my trainer posted on our blog today, LOL.

Absolutely depends on one's frame. I'm 5'8"/5'9". CW: 170, GW: 160. Measurements are 42-34-39 (the dreaded "cone" shape). I wear 8s and 10s (Ms) in bottoms, 14/XL in tops.

Looks like a solid plan! I have one question and one suggestion: 1. If eliminating meat, poultry, dairy AND eggs, what are you using for protein? Hitting those macros is important. 2. You might want to consider getting a body composition test (with interval rechecks) since you will be strength training. Keeping track of…
