Currently on the third book of the Raven Cycle (Blue Lily, Lily Blue) by Maggie Stiefvater. Nearly finished, and I've got the last book checked out from the library, ready and waiting!

I spent a great deal of that day with tears in my eyes, but I admit that I giggled when I imagined how lucky Death must feel to meet his most accomplished biographer. RIP, Sir Terry.

Okie dokie, then.

Hey, your current weight and goal weight are really close to mine. Want to be friends? I'm kind of goofy and I have a bizarre sense of humor, fair warning, but I'm supportive, and in this for the long haul. --Jessi

Lately, I've been making stir-fried veggies and quinoa, and then eating that on top of a bed of greens (kale or spinach, usually). it's like a warm side salad that's more, sort of...underneath.

I've struggled with anxiety and depression since I was a tween (38 y/o now). There's definitely a correlation between my emotional/mental state and my health-related behaviors, and it seems to be a two-way relationship. When I'm anxious or depressed, I eat comfort foods in (frighteningly) large quantities, sleep, repeat.…

Currently reading Gaiman's Stardust, but a friend handed me the first two books of the Outlander series the other day and told me to let her know when I'm ready for the next ones, so it looks like that's next on the agenda.

I really liked the Mistborn books by Brandon Sanderson. LOTR is, of course, classic. The Discworld books by Terry Pratchett are wonderful (though I admit I'm several behind at this point--I think I'm grieving his decline in health).

Ooh, didn't know there was a walking dead thread. I'm in. Also, were there photographs of people in that room with the candles? There was so much to look at and I can't decide if I'm remembering that correctly.

If there isn't, there should be! So, you guys excited about the 50th anniversary special? Feel free to add me, also. :) Jess

I have work related stress/anxiety dreams. The usual setup is that I've received my patient assignments (I'm a nurse), but then I can't find my patients. During the dream, my shift passes really quickly, while I'm looking for my patients and becoming increasingly panicked that I haven't seen them yet. Also, since becoming…

I met my boyfriend on Match, and we've been together for a year and a half. I went on some pretty goofy dates with guys from that site, too, so be prepared to wade through some weirdness before you find the right person. Honestly, though, can't the same be said for traditional dating? :ohwell:

Amazing transformation!

Thanks for sharing. I was just trying to think of places to get healthy lunches out yesterday. :)

Well, this is day three since I adjusted my macros and started aiming for lower carbs. I actually feel great, and haven't been hungry between meals. For the first time since I joined this site, I'm having no trouble staying under my calorie goal. Thanks for the replies. :)

pseudomuffin has great glasses and an adorable face. I have great glasses and am silly in a good way. The next person is lovely and always smells nice.

I enjoyed the joke as much as I can, considering that I'm on call for work and can't have an IPA. :(

It's frustrating, I know, but not an uncommon reaction to stress and exhaustion. You recognize that it's not a healthy response, so that's a step in the right direction. :) I'd say that having an imperfect and human moment sometimes is forgivable and part of the learning process. Get some rest and feel better soon!

Mr. Burns, trying to use an ATM: "Guide me in, Smithers."

Hmmm. That's definitely a bummer. Do you guys usually spend a lot of time together? How long have you been together?
-
Oh my goodness. You are brilliant, and that looks delicious.

I won't miss: --trying on everything in my closet before I can leave the house, because nothing looks right once I'm actually wearing it --dreading having a camera pointed at me --coming out of the dressing room depressed because nothing worked for me. I have a lot of clothing related goals, it appears. That's ironic,…

Bump for reading later. Ideas, ideas...

My sister made a diet soda cake for my birthday yesterday. She used strawberry cake mix and generic red soda. It was DELICIOUS, and very moist. I recommend. :)

Raw, sliced potato. I used to steal a couple of pieces from my mom when she was cutting them up to make mashed potatos. Bizarrely, I have never really liked homemade mashed potatos. I've always prefered the instant mashed potatos.

I love Earl Grey, British Breakfast tea, and Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry, but my all-time favorite is Republic of Tea Blackberry Sage.

I'm scared of hormones, so I rock the sponge, like Elaine from Seinfeld.
-
That's not lame. I've got you beat anyway (in terms of sheer goofiness, that is)--I totally got excited the other day because I took a couple of drinks of diet dr pepper and thought, "man, I wish I had some water."

I get where you're coming from. Once my momentum is interrupted, it feels like I have to climb a mountain made out of thumbtacks and rubbing alcohol to get it back. That said, it can be done. I actually woke up this morning in the worst mood, convinced that I am the only person in the world who has ever had to struggle to…
