If you can get hold of a copy of the hairy dieters recipe book, pretty much all there recipes are under 500 cals and taste fab. When I have a fast day I tend to only eat one meal in the evening so Hairy Dieters rocks for me.

Started watching that but there is something about her that really winds me up. 10 minutes was all I could manage.

Give yourself rewards if you think it'll help. I'm off tomorrow to get some new running shoes as my 3 stone goal and am planning something else for when I complete a 5k race. As others have said it is best not to have food goals, kinda defeats the purpose.

Hi Bex, It's great that you have decided against surgery. I am sure you are in the right place to lose the weight you need without getting chopped open. The support on MFP will be a massive bonus to you and the forums are a fantastic resource. I wish you well and with a bit of dedication you WILL lose weight. FR sent. Nicho

I did the c25k and it was a real struggle for me. When I started doing the runs without any breaks I started to get more encouraged. When you are at a point doing perhaps 18 minutes running and can look back to barely being able to do 30 seconds you get a real sense of achievement which pushed me on. The best feeling is…

Your body doesn't go into 'starvation mode' until around 60 hours of not eating/eating very little. So long as you are consuming plenty and don't feel hungry don't worry too much about it. People worry too much about starvation mode in my opinion. Unless you have ED type eating it shouldn't be a problem.

In my experience running outside is harder. I used to run on a treadmill and could easily go for miles. As soon as I started outdoors I realised that the treadmill seems to lie. I think the treadmill, due to the movement of the track, actually assists a little with the motion. Also when running in the great outdoors you…

I've always done 16:8 by default as have never been a breakfast eater. I have just started doing 5:2 IF - only eating 1 meal with max 600 cals on 2 days per week. 1st week I lost 4lbs which is my highest ever weekly weight loss in nearly nine months of watching my food. I highly recommend IF as the research I have done…

Hi, I had the shock of the scales at the beginning of the year, so I know where your coming from. I have found the c25k amazing but due to my hamstring problems it has taken me 7 months to get to where I am now. If you've had previous health issues just take it slow and repeat days or weeks as needed until you are strong…

You'll see it soon enough I am sure. You are working really hard.

That's expensive!! Asda have it on for £7 but out of stock.

Diet Coke all the way! I prefer it to ordinary coke and have always chosen it, even when I wasn't watching my food.

I am right near the end. My last run was 4.8km! Personally I have found it amazing. I was incredibly unfit so have taken a lot longer than the 9 weeks it should take due to muscular problems. I have used an app called RunDouble on my android phone which has slowly built me up from walk/run stints where I felt I would…

Go for a good C25K program. I am very close to the end now using an app called Run Double on Android. It is incredibly good.

If you think about how our bodies are designed it is clear that we are not designed for many small meals. Evolutionary wise we have developed as hunter gathers. Simply put we are designed to spend a day hunting and then consume in a large meal. Probably not even on a daily basis which is why Intermittent Fasting has so…

Also there is something about not drinking too much water before or during your run. Try not to drink before you run and make up the liquid you need after. Personally I still take a bottle with me as sometimes I need a little, but try to keep it to a minimum until after you have finished.

I had the same thing and found some running forums that suggest you breath out hard at the exact moment when the foot on the side of the stitch hits the ground. Keep doing so and the stitch will go. It sounds strange but seems to work OK for me, and is very simple.

What about the animal bars. There thin so aren't as packed with calories but are a reasonable size, unlike Freddo which is tiny. I like them as they are like easter egg chocolate.

if you don't want breakfast don't have it. It doesn't matter when during the day you eat.

Congratulations. I am slowly building up to doing the same. Got up to 2.5 miles so far.

Hi, I am at a similar point. I've lost 32 pounds so far and my current goal is to lose a further 11 pound. This will put me at the very top end of the "healthy" bmi although I will probably want to lose a bit more when I get there. Feel free to add me. Nicho

Just be aware that running outside will feel a lot harder than running on a treadmill. This is for 2 reasons. 1. the treadmill is powered so actually does some of the work for you. 2. running outside will NEVER be perfectly flat. There are always inclines to bear in mind. Give it a go and please don't be disheartened if…

Congratulations on 20year of marriage. Now you have a solid goal in mind you know what you have to aim for. Just keep your holiday in mind when temptation creeps in, as it will.. regularly. There's loads of support here for you.

Jimbo, I don't think there are many people in this world that are 'destine' to be fat. The natural state of humans is not intended to be fat, although build varies greatly. The key to this is 1. wanting to change 2. knowing you can change 3. eating right and exercising 4.getting the support you need. Personally I find with…

Hi, You are in the right place. I've only been on the site a couple of weeks and find it a great source of encouragement and inspiration.

Sounds perfect to me. The big problem with all includive could be the bar. I'm off to Rome soon and will struggle as all the italian food is going to blow my diet out of the water. Just going to have to walk loads. Have a great holiday.
