Actually, this is false information. You can't outexercise a bad diet. Not even a diet of only whole, healthy foods. Been there, done that - I gained over 15 lbs by doing that, and in a very short period of time, and I was running fast for long stretches of time, lifting weights... Good luck with that. Calorie restriction…

Thanks, that's fantastic - that explains it perfectly. Well, when a trainer tested me for grips he was amazed that in spite of my disability I had more resistance than women who had been lifting for a while, so maybe there's hope :)

Thank you all :) I will call my dietician tomorrow. IrishChick, I also have HUGE reactions to high fat foods - my body cannot process large quantities of fats, which is why it's very complicated to get the macro balance right.

Thank you! That sounds fantastic. I am going to start today. Thank you for the progression thing: I would often give up on push ups because it was just too painful in my injured arm. How do you do pull ups using an elastic band (I have those in several strength)? I pull towards me in a "rowing" position? Elbows close or…

Artisana makes several varieties of organic and raw nut butters (cashew, almond, coconut, coconut and cocoa) that don't need refirgeration AND come in single serve blisters. You can pack a lot in very little space. I personally love them. They are also great for when you really want some nut butter, but don't want to keep…

It happens to me something similar because of my dietary restrictions: gluten intolerance, and currently such extreme sensitivity to all grains that my doctor had me cut out all grains altogether for six moths. Oh, you're one of those non-starchy people! Well, you know, it's kind of objectionable to describe my…

I am hyper, too. I used to run almost two hours every day at 5-6 mph, but I had to stop because of my hear rate. BUT! I have found that moderate cardio - biking, high intensity aerobics/dance, elliptical, brisk walking (4-4.5 mph) for 60-90 minutes 5 times a week has been fantastic in REDUCING my heart rate. I am not even…

Hyper here, you can add me. Also, I am one of those who gains weight when hyper. Weird.

I think it's just us being European. My scale also measures nutrients, which I find extremely helpful. I bought one for each family member.

Cow milk, skimmed - whole milk make me gag, we never had it when I was growing up, so I was never used to it. Why? Because I love coffee, and my stomach gets upset if I drink black coffee. Milk seems to stop that, but I don't know why. I can't drink soy or almond milk anymore because of my thyroid. I tried coconut milk but…

Oh, 1/2 cup of cereal does NOT weigh the way it says on the box. Tried with so many, when I was still eating cold cereal. Food scales are a gift from the heavens. All "portions" given in packages are, ahem, designed to make you eat more, and feel les guilty. After all, they have to sell it. The tbsp measure, especially,…

I am also here because I am struggling to lose weight, party it's my fault, and partly it's my thyroid. Except that, unlike most people here, I am hyper. Yup, one of those people blessed with so many thyroid hormones she should sell'em at the black market and get a better apartment AND still gaining weight. Specifically, I…

Thank you, SB. It has been the chief difficulty I have had in my weightloss. I have dwelt in this dark place for such a long time....

Chanel, we appear to be twins. Indeed, I fear that I need to lose 30+ lbs, according to this morning's scale... :( It feels like no matter what I do, things keep getting worse. I am relieved to hear so many people are experiencing the same problem, I mean, not that I am happy that others have it, but it's nice to know I am…

What best motivation than kicking your/our disease's fat bum? :)
