Agreed. I eat a limited carb diet and I still get almost 1900 calories a day.
-
Absolutely. You need to eat more. Try foods higher in calories. Nuts, whole grains, etc. I eat a lot of protein and I'm never really hungry. But I do force myself to eat!

Why not just continue to do P90X but take out one day of cardio, and add in a day of strength. Lift heavier weights. Eat more calories than you burn. Most people won't lift heavy enough weights to try to get big. Building muscle requires more effort than people think. P90X can work to build muscle, if you lift heavy…

I believe most people don't bother with the ingredients because if the FDA says its ok, than well its ok right?! Of course we all know that isn't true. But I think there are enough systems in place that limit the amount of BAD in the even the good food.

Well first what does MFP say you should eat? Second what are your measurements? Height and weight? Third, is there anyway you could just walk maybe a mile day to exercise? Fourth, what did you set your goals to be on MFP, how much did you want to lose a week?

Thats awesome!!! It is tough to see the difference when you see yourself everyday! I can't wait till the end of this month to take pictures and see how my month has gone!

Well before us, our ancestors ate mostly meat, fruit, and veggies. But now the general public and even health professionals say we need xxx amount of carbs a day? When our ancestors got by on barely any. The human body is a amazing machine, and can survive while eating a wide variety of diets, even over a extended period…

I agree. Except on the carb part. Ha. I try to stay clear of many carbs. But hey thats just me. Anyway, everything has chemicals. Some worse than others, for example diet soda. Really bad. The egg whites example, not so bad. Sweet and low? Bad. Your better off with regular sugar. And after all, all a diet comes down to is…

Lean meats, because not most people can eat Organic everyday. And if you don't get lean cuts of meat you'll more than likely end up eating to much fat.

Don't weigh yourself every day. It will only hurt you in the long run. Weigh once a week. At most. Here is a good read; http://whole9fitness.com/why-you-shouldnt-weigh-yourself-every-day/

I think you probably need to increase how much your eating. What are your measurements? Height and weight? Cutting out carbs won't hurt. But it isn't easy. Look at my food dairy. For the past 9 Days, I've been eating the same exact things. All while staying around 115 carbs a day. About 25% of my daily carbs. It may give…

Thanks for clearing it up. I was just curious!

Great post. Just a question.. Or a thought more so. Wouldn't it be easier for a guy to gain more than 10 or 15 pounds of muscle in a year? Or was this post referring to just woman who compete? Testosterone levels in woman make it more difficult to gain muscle correct?

Fresh fruit, lean meats, whole grains.. Mainly when someone says, 'I've be eating very clean'. I take it as they mean they have not went off their diet much, or haven't been eating any junk food. For example, for the past two weeks I've been eating very clean. Grilled chicken, fruits, and veggies. No soda, no junk, no…

It should be noted that most of these side effects happen when people are taking in WAY to much protein, for WAY to long of a time. Increased protein intake, in itself is not the risk. It is the amount of time one continues the increased intake.

So, I thought everyone should know this.. It is EXTREMELY odd. Only a few hours after I posted this question. I got a text from my neighbor. She had asked if I wanted a free month certificate to the gym right down the road. (The one I always think about joining). Of course I said yes. I will have to go at least a few times…

Losing that much weight that quickly will probably result in a lot of muscle loss. Why not just extend your goal? No harm in that.

I love working out at home. Have my free weights, pull up bar, and of course tons of push ups for chest. However I'm slowly becoming concerned that I probably won't ever get the results I want by just doing these.

I swear by the Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey. Chocolate Peanut Butter is so good. Drink it with whole milk, and 2 scoops and you have almost 400 calories right there. Maybe a bit more depending how much milk you use.

Could the same be said about it taking 2 weeks to show changed in the body in a good way? For example, I took nearly 3 months off from P90X, before starting my 3rd round, and did not exercise in that time. So would it take 2 weeks to see any good results or just the bad ones from not exercising?
-
Well it will give you a great core workout! However, the only way to have a nice flat stomach is to lose body fat. So don't think that just doing core workouts will slim you down. The diet is very very important. You'll need to lower your body fat percentage to slim your stomach down.

I think she means all the weight you would of put on the week that you don't exercise. That's the way I took it at least.
-
He probably just believes this because, if you stop for 7 days and start again you will get the soreness feeling back.

Going to have to go with.. fiction.

Just so everyone knows. I personally think high protein, low carb diets are GREAT. However there is no argument that there are health concerns. Also that most people on those types of diets, once they start eating carbs again, gain the weight back. Can they be a way to lose weight? Of crouse. Are there risks? You bet ya.…

I eat a lot of protein also. I only eat about a 100 grams of carbs a day. The OP mentioned she was a women. I doubt she is doing heavy lifting, so she wouldn't need as much protein as me and you.
-
First: That is not true. If you eat to much protein, lets say.. 300 grams a day. You kidneys can fail! Your body is not able to continue to break the stuff down. Second: The person we are talking about is a women, who I assume is not doing heavy lifting. So to much protein would hurt! Third: Grokette, you are eating…

What you are doing is just great, like everyone else said. You don't want to get overwhelmed and give up. There are plenty of people on here who ONLY watch calories. And they have lost PLENTY of weight. Like Tate said, if you get some of each you will be in good shape with your diet. Just remember tho, that while just…

Check the link in my sig. As a rule of thumb, long term protein diets can cause health effects.
