I started with RunKeeper. I even used Nike+ for a long time. I've dabbled with most of the others listed here. I love RunKeeper. I now have a Windows phone and RunKeeper doesn't have an app for it, but Caledos Runner uploads and tracks data to RunKeeper. I still get all my runs logged and my new PR emails and all. It's…

I'm pretty new to it really. I would say I've really taken it seriously the last 7 months. A buddy of mine and I go regularly to the gym in the afternoon. He want's to be HUGE and I'm settling for smaller than HUGE. I've been on a 2 week hiatus, trying to get about 10lbs off and doing a lot of cardio (to improve my 2 mile…

Well, I saw somebody suggested vitamins. I know I feel a difference. It's not a subconscious thing either. I had been forgetting to take them and after a few days was wondering why I was always so tired. Another big cause I'm sure is your lack of sleep. You need at least 7 hours of sleep. I don't think I can help you there…

Never heard of somebody getting fat because they ate too much fruit. There's a difference in naturally occurring sugars in fruit and processed sugars. They do different things within your body. Stay away from as much processed sugar as you can, especially the high fructose variety. A lot of dieticians will tell you to eat…

C25K would probably be a good way to start. It sounds like you probably have good enough cardio to make the run but what I would worry about are shin splints. Very painful and will keep you from running for about 2 weeks. There's no impact in cycling so you'll have to give your shin bones time to build up to the impact of…

Yeah, if you don't mind used you can keep an eye out on Craigslist and ask around at local bike shops. If you get a used bike I would immediately take it to a shop to have it tuned. They'll grease and adjust the parts on it and help adjust it to you. Make sure it's the right size frame for you though. Also, if you need…

It depends on how your body responds. Working out raises your metabolism for a longer period than when just working out. This means that when you're sitting back at home after working out you're still burning calories at an increased rate. Try adding calories back on and just keep a watchful eye on your weight. You may…

I have a pair of Brooks that I installed elastic laces on. They stay laced and you literally slip your feet in and out. I've logged a lot of mileage with them and think they're wonderful. You want enough tension that they don't squeeze your feet, but you don't want them flopping around either. Any running shop should have…

There's plenty of body weight exercises you can do. Try bodybuilding.com and livestrong.com for suggestions. If you want to invest a little then I'd like to suggest a set of resistance tubes. Wal Mart carries a set from Gold's Gym for about $30 that even comes with a good workout dvd. I carry this set on me when I travel…

You want a road bike? Mountain bike? Hybrid? and what would be the price range you want? Most bike shops will have a layaway program, all you have to do is ask. You can get a decent entry level bike at Wal Mart, but you'll be best taking it to a shop and spending more money to have it tuned up and what-not. You CANNOT go…

There's pull ups and chin ups. Try doing chin ups. Same thing but your palms grip the bar facing you. It sounds like the tendons are weak. Be careful as you don't want to develop tendonitis. If you're lifting regularly for a workout routine then you may want to try incorporating neutral grip exercises instead of over and…

My friends that have used Insanity and P90x say they're both excellent but Insanity requires no equipment. I have P90x from a friend but have yet to use it. I do however have the UFC Personal Trainer for Xbox Kinect. You can use resistance bands with it or not. It gives you that option. I've been using it for a little…

I've used a personal trainer before. It's not necessary if you do your homework on working out, but it could be a great start to understand some of the equipment at the gym more. I don't recommend a regular use of a personal trainer, but maybe once a month wouldn't hurt. They can evaluate where you are and give you a…

I love Runkeeper for tracking my runs. It's free for Droid and I would assume for iPhone as well. Now as far as improving speed, you need to do sprints to build cardio. I like Zombies, Run! You start off running and the story line plays in the background involving you as a "player". You'll be chased by zombies and have to…

Now, you want to work on muscle memory. You need to go all the way down and do them properly. It's perfectly fine to do them on your knees as it alleviates some of the weight on your upper body. When you can start doing regular push ups, then do them. As you tire, drop to your knees and continue doing them. In the Army…

It's exercise so yes, but not at a high rate like cardio would. Building muscle will help raise your basal metabolic rate too.

Body fat percentage is just usually a number to achieve. You set your goal for that number and work to achieve it. If you do the age, height, weight measurement to determine your bodyfat (as our gov't does) it's not accurate. I got measured at 32% bodyfat on my last physical due to my weight and height. I'm nowhere near…

Well, in the Army they say if you wanna do more pushups then just do more pushups. What's your hand positioning? If you go wider than your shoulders you are engaging more shoulder muscle and might find this easier. You can start this way and work your hands closer as you get tired, engaging more tricep. Also you could try…
-
The wider you go the more you're using your shoulder muscles. The narrower you go the more you're engaging your triceps. If you want to really burn your triceps do some diamond pushups. Take both your hands on the floor in front of you, put them together so your thumbs are touching each other as well as your index fingers.…

How desperate can you be to lose weight that you perform coffee enemas? (or any enema for that matter?) I can understand certain medical reasons for an enema, but to lose weight? One, it's temporary; any benefit you may see is just short lived. For me, I'd rather torture myself in the gym for an hour than torture myself…

Greek yogurt would be my personal favorite. I feel fuller when eating it and I've not had one that contains high fructose corn syrup that a lot of the regular yogurts have. It has a higher protein content which helps me ingest the amount I need to build and maintain muscle mass.

Definitely take the time to find a running store. They'll typically let you run around in them, they'll check your gait, and have a generous return policy if you find the shoes aren't working out for you. Nike makes good shoes but there's plenty of other brands out there worth trying too. My recent trip to the running…

Creatine will help with your workout by increasing how long you can do reps and muscle growth. However you'll retain water. Not a bloated kinda retaining water, but it will gorge your muscles with water, meaning it'll reduce muscle definition by giving them a more smoothed over look. This means you'll gain a little weight…

The fat burning heart rate is a load of b.s. Checking your heart rate isn't a bad idea, but not necessary.

You're not wasting your time. The 2.0 incline will closely resemble real world running and you could even back it off to about 1.5 even. I run at a 1.5 incline on the treadmill. You kinda have your own version of speedplay or fartlek figured out. This will help your cardio endurance more than straight up running. I like…

I weigh myself every morning. If I lose weight I'll log it. If I'm up a pound or whatever that is in the back of my mind all day long. It means I'll drink more water and cut my caloric intake a bit until I get back to my last low weight.
-
I would still log it as strength training. Just my opinion. I'd rather be on the low side logging exercises and the high side of food if my goal is weight loss. Not sure if there's a "circuit training" selection though. Doesn't sound like much help but at least it's an opinion.
-
I would suggest going for a third or fourth set and keeping the reps about 8-10 really... Looks like you're doing back, shoulders, bi's and tri's all in one day. You can split that up between two days since a lot of those exercises use the same muscles as secondary muscles (meaning it's not the primary muscle group being…
-
If you belong to a gym I would hire a personal trainer for an hour. They'll show you what you can do with the equipment they have. You can lift higher reps with lower weight and it won't bulk you up like lifting heavy will... not to mention you can target each muscle group separately with machines to get the look you want.…

Bike. If you can't ride, try stationary or even recumbant. Elliptical I assume would aggravate it. In the off time while it heals you may want to consider strength training. I'm not talking big heavy stuff, but higher reps with lighter weight. It won't do much for cardio but it'll keep those muscles toned and ready to go…
