  • WOOOT!! Made it through day one without a hitch....yes I had some "bad" food, but I stayed under calories, which is what I am aiming for right now!
  • Thanks :) I am dying to start lifting, but am waiting until I can afford to go to the gym I really want, rather than committing myself to 2 years at a mediocre gym (we have one that's for serious lifters, but it's prepay in 4 month blocks, so saving up). I will measure myself so I can see the changes in numbers when the…
  • I am really happy to hear this, I just bought it last night. I have been off plan and struggling to get back on and stay there for the last couple of months. I am hoping this will provide me with a little motivation. I THINK as well that my husband may be getting me a gym membership for Christmas, to a gym I would like to…
  • No there are not. I live in a town of 150 people, so I thought to try it at home. Even if there was a studio near me, I am extremely limited on time for the most part. This is not a "I don't have time to work out" statement, it's a "I need to fit in a work out whenever I can, and sometimes that will be late at night, or…
  • Actually it was a DDP transformation video (the disabled veteran paratrooper) that turned me onto yoga as an actual means of working out...never occurred to me to go to their site lol.
  • I was in a Mixed Martial Arts Fitness class, where my conservative burn (by MFP estimates) was over 1000 calories a class. I was 260lbs, I worked my *kitten* off. I sweated until my eyes stung with salty sweat water, and my clothes were drenched. I literally had sweat dropping off my hair onto the dojo mats. I usually put…
  • SW: 295 CW: 247 GW: 150-160. Now, that being said, I am less worried about the number on the scale, when all is said and done. I want to be thin and fit and toned...so if I end up at 165 or 170 to get there, that's ok with me, likewise, if I need to get down to 140 to get there, then I am ok with that as well.
  • Also, does anyone have any input on the GoWearFit in this mix? Just trying to find a solution that will better suit my needs than the FitBit does. Lower cost is always nice, lol.
  • Are you sure? It's a well noted issue with a lot of FitBit users. I also have the Ultra, and I happen to own a Jeep as well (a Compass), I drive a LOT of highway, and a little bit of dirt road...on a good day I get about 1500 steps added on, on a bad day, in excess of 3000 steps. The FitBit board is full of people with the…
  • See, to me this is an easy solution. Take it off, and it stops recording your information (I am assuming anyway). FitBit doesn't have that option. I have tried EVERYTHING to stop it from inputting data while I drive, but sadly had no luck. My driving can offset my actual steps by 3000 or more steps, and I have been…
  • LOL wanna swap?? I just wondered if it was messed up by driving etc!
  • BUFFALO CHICKEN LASAGNA??? OMG!!!!!! The 2 best foods in the world combined? I must find a recipe! Best part is, no one else in my house would eat it!
  • I have head this complaint a fair bit to be truthful.
  • I think you must have misread. I said it was ENTIRELY my fault for taking it. I said that he is an enabler for offering. I am completely willing to accept my own responsibility in this. I didn't get fat by having a husband who loves me...nor will I get skinny by having one who nags me. This journey is MINE to make. What I…
  • Thank you!! He is my baby! If there was an MFP for horses, he would be telling his success story now, after having lost around 300lbs (I bought him extremely overweight).
  • I had this same problem (well, with the being able to go a couple of weeks, then giving up). I know I will probably get grief for saying this, but I found that if I gave myself a LITTLE bit of "junk", then it was easier to stick on plan. For me, 100 calorie snack packs became the 1 thing that helped me stay on track,…
  • The Fighter-Gym Class Hero's (my all time fave, and major inspiration song).
  • I am interested in seeing what people have to say about this. The science behind it makes sense to me, and while I did do it for a bit when I was first working on losing weight, I was finding that it was hard to find the time to mix up my daily caloric goals (I feel like I am crazy busy these days).
  • I try and get a big chunk of protein in after a work out, but I do it so that I am less sore. I typically have a protein bar containing 30g of protein after a hard work out. It seems to make a big difference in next day soreness, at least in me.
  • For me, it seems to be my butt. Everything is getting baggy in the *kitten* area.
  • My guy is big, he's only 15HH, but I really think he may be part draft. He's got a huge body, and big feet. When I got him he was 1340lbs (he was weighed, because I bought him at an auction...meat buyers need to know how much they are paying per pound and all :( ), he's probably about 1100lbs now, with a 2inch crest (it…
  • Actually, it's not irrational at all. I rode as a teen, and not since. I was TERRIFIED to get up on him. I bought him at an auction, and they SAID he was broke to ride (and drive), but they SAY a lot of things. I was terrified he was going to toss me and I would lay there in the dirt, broken, until someone found me. LOL I…
  • Thank you, I will be happy when it's more obvious, and when I don't feel guilty for getting on my horse LOL. That day will come, I hope.
  • Thanks everyone. The lighting really wasn't that good. The picture my husband took was outside in the sunshine, the picture my friend took last night was in the indoor riding ring, at night, out at the barn where I keep my guy. My shirt was too big as well (since I had just tossed on whatever to go out and get dirty with…
  • Oh I'd like to join! I want to be held accountable as all the "fattening holidays" (thanksgiving, halloween, daughter's birthday, my birthday, and christmas) come around. SW: 253 GW: 225 UGW: 160 (strong and fit)
  • I walk an average of 5 miles a day with work...days like today I have a lot of calories left that I could eat (900 cals from exercise) I work shift work and it's 9:41pm. I got home from work about 45 minutes ago and I have to get out of bed for work at 4:30am. Since i have to go to sleep pretty quick here, I have 2…
  • Outstanding Scott! WTG! I hope that weight comes off even faster than your hoping.
  • *blink blink* Ummm hi ;) WTG you look AWESOME!! Nice guns ;)
  • I appreciate not being coddled. I am looking for REAL answers on how to get from where I am, to wear I want to be, I am eating less sugar these days, so please hold the sugar coating ;) I walk about 5 miles a day with my job, when I remember I try to work in some squats during my "still" times. I go to my MMA class twice a…
  • My kids are by NO means an excuse to not work out. Even my 20 minutes a day, I send them in to their room (to give myself time and room to work and concentrate) while I do it...the problem for me, is cooking. Trying to find time and energy to cook is next to impossible. The good news is, if I am going to be eating way more…
