  • I have lived this life. I did not gain my weight back because I was overzealous and then burned out. I had completely unforseen issues in my home, which ended up leading to being disowned by my family and my inlaws (through no fault of my own, my husband took full responsibility with everyone, but I ended up in everyone's…
  • I lost 70lbs, with diet, exercise and all that good stuff. 2 summers ago we ran 4x 5k runs, last year we ran 1 and walked 1 (there were concerns I may have had a heart condition and was forbidden to run at the time). I am not currently running, but I am walking inclines for 20-40 mins at a time, which is apparently as…
  • Ladies you all look SO SO fabulous! I can't wait to start lifting heavy, I am just clueless about how to start, and what to do. I work in a gym (right now, overnights even, so, for example, I just had an empty gym for 3.5 hours), so I have ample access to equipment, I just need to figure out what and how (I have some…
  • I work 10pm-6am. I am a grazer, so I bring lots of cut up veggies for snacking on, and a "meal" to have at meal time. I log from the time I get up (usually 4:30pm) until the time I go to sleep (usually 9am) as one day, and I log it all under 1 meal because I can;t be bothered to split it into meals.
  • If he is not the person you married, then what else has changed? Disinvolvement could be a sign of depression. As could living in a "fantasy" world.
  • LOL there's a good chance tomorrow you will figure out how you burned those calories. I love LOVE BodyPump. I try to go to it 2-3 times a week and do my cardio at night (I work as an overnight greeter at a gym and am allowed to work out when it'[s dead). A lot of people who do this class say they burn a lot of calories. I…
  • If people can't use moderation to enjoy treats, how is that her fault? There are vast number of people who know how to enjoy a pastry. A pastry...as in 1. Why does it make your friend wrong for wanting to do something she loves, simply because some people can't (or won't, which is me) control themselves with sweets. No one…
  • This sounds like the reply of someone who didn't get the answer they wanted. You asked a question, people here answered truthfully.
  • I work overnights, and so when I went to bed this morning, I could hear my husband making bacon. Worse yet, I dozed off and woke up about 30 minutes later and everything smelled like bacon. I am proud that I didn't go out and have a couple slices of bacon even though my calories would have allowed for it. I am "saving up"…
  • I'm in!! I'd like to lose 15lbs by Christmas! Every time I take a challenge, I bail on weight loss in general, so my goal is ALSO to continue on plan!!
  • Thanks :D We had an OUTSTANDING time. I really do have some of the most awesome friends. The one that forged ahead had been a runner last summer, and had quit, so he wanted to push himself to see what he could do. I don't blame him at all. Our Mud Running season is about over, due to winter approaching, but next year we…
  • LMAO everyone I know is SICK of me saying "I have muscles, feel my muscles" and flexing my biceps! Now I don't have much upper body strength at all at this point, but there is muscle there that can be felt. The best part is that I still have a lot of fat on my arms, so no one expects there to actually be muscle under it,…
  • If being skinny was as easy as a wrap or a pill, we would all be skinny already. 'nuff said
  • Do you find you are getting stronger? This is sort of what I was thinking of maybe doing, if I can manage to fit it all in...lol Do you rest on weekends?
  • 1) I asked so I could stop worrying about it. I asked specifically if these women were doing something different than the average woman...the entire purpose of this post was to explain to me why I wouldn't bulk up. Obviously, if I was looking for excuses not to lift heavy, I would just not do it, and never ask. I just…
  • Thank you, yes, that's pretty much the physique I would like to have eventually. I understand that I still have a lot to lose to get there, but there's no harm in starting to lift now. I have ZERO issues with the idea of women lifting heavy, just wanted to know how to avoid getting to a place I didn't want to be, which has…
  • This answers my question, and doesn't make me feel like an idiot for asking. Thank you.
  • I am sure I am going to get me some nasty remarks for this...lol. But for ME, and my preference, this is just a TINY bit too bulky. EDITED TO ADD: I would never call anyone's preference "gross" or "disgusting". It's not my place to judge anyone, inside or out. We all strive to make ourselves whatever we wish to become, and…
  • I actually like the 100 reps class, and am seeing some results from it (it's a toning class), but I was more thinking of adding free weights and lifting heavy when I can't get to the classes. I am not looking for an excuse not to lift heavy, if I was, I wouldn't have asked for help. I was just looking for advice, since I…
  • In the mirror I still see the 300lb girl I was when I started...and then I am surprised when, for example, I fit into that grey and black dress, which is an extra large, off the rack.
  • Actually, I wasn't being literal when I said I got it from my sister, I was merely attempting to point out that, while we both may have some spelling errors (she has dreadfully more actually, and if you judged her on her ability to spell alone, you would think she was completely stupid), that doesn't mean anything except…
  • Awww, look at that, a little ignorance and assumption goes a long way! We are actually 1/2 sisters, raised separately, by different parents, in entirely separate communities! Thanks for playing though :)
  • I suppose I get my inability to spell/type from my sister, hopefully i am at least half as smart as she is as well! As for your spelling/grammar penchant, it seems you forgot some commas in your reply. Not good, not good at all for a language enthusiast and grammar pendant. Maybe the next time you want to waste your time…
  • You go nuts and believe in doing things right all you want. However, you shouldn't push your beliefs onto other people. Pity that the scale didn't go down when people lost ignorance, it would be a great encouragement for people to open their minds and their hearts to other people's thoughts and perspectives. Not everyone…
  • Wow that's a SUPER high TDEE. I am 5'7 and 244lbs (started at 295) and I eat 1600-1800 calories a day, and am consistently losing 2.5-3lbs per week if I stay on plan. I walk 5-6 miles a day (often at 3.5 miles per hour or faster) for work. The only time I eat back any exercise calories is if I do an actual workout (as…
  • Thank you to everyone who had something supportive to say. That is why I like this site! For those who feel it's their place to be judgmental or close minded, I wish that I felt I was as perfect as you must feel you are, to not feel the need to ask questions!! As it stands I happen to have very little free time right now.…
  • Wow...note to self, don't ask questions! For anyone who did actually input, thank you for taking the time to do so.
  • When I first started I ate 1200 calories a day, but my weight loss stalled after 2 weeks. I bumped it up to 1500-1600 calories a day, and was losing weight like a pro at that calorie level :) That's just me though!
  • I am fortunate enough to have access to an indoor arena to ride in, so I have been riding through the winter cold. Also my guy was about 300lbs overweight when I bought him in May, so while I got the extra weight off him (with some help, I am a horse newbie), it's not too much for him to carry me around for a bit. That…
  • today went well also, no major temptations. I know if I can get a few days in without a "who cares" day, i will have it made. It's the first few days that are the toughest. I just cooked up my lunch for tomorrow... Stuffed chicken breast with portabella mushrooms, red peppers and swiss cheese, some rice and a salad...I…
