  • Thanks! I never thought to look under cardio. I found it 🙂
  • Pilates does it all. I love it. I like to alternate days between Pilates and yoga.

  • ...and there are unconventional ways to fit strength training using your own body weight into your day as well. For example, I do deep squats twice a day while brushing my teeth using the 2 minute timer on my electric tooth brush. Maybe it sounds silly, but my legs have gotten quite strong.
  • Put salt in he water, too. That way if one egg cracks a bit, all the whites will stay inside the shell instead of flowing out and ruining the egg.
  • Hold your nose and drink the Metamucil...you'll get used to it. Or take psyllium in pill form. A big cup of coffee in the morning works for me. Add more raw fruit and veggies into your diet. An apple a day, etc.
  • Standing in the shower and looking down at my feet...actually being to lower my chin and see my feet instead of my belly.
  • As I lost the weight, I found it interesting to see the different ways my body changed throughout the process. It didn't reduce equally all over. First I lost the weight on my hips and thighs and in my face, then my boobs and back, and the belly last.
  • I often have an egg on toast. But this morning I had a hard boiled egg and a cup of steel cooked oats that I did in my crock pot over night. I always try to have some protein at breakfast because otherwise I can't make it until lunch.
  • Rolled oats, quick cook oats and those sweetened oatmeal packets ... Blech. Awful. However, Steel cut oats done in the crockpot overnight and served with a simple teaspoon of brown-sugar splenda...marvelous. Tastes kind of nutty. It's like they roll the flavour out of rolled oats.
  • Thats a good idea...I'll try soaking them that way next time! I'll also see if my library has any of those cook books, or get them on inter library loan if I can :)

  • I lost 60 pounds and ate soup nearly every day at lunch. I'd make a pot on the weekend and freeze it in single serving containers. An easy soup is to chop an onion and sauté it in a Tbsp of olive oil until it goes clear and then slightly brown (this is called caramelizing). Then coarsely chop up a bunch of broccoli (3…
  • Great suggestions, everyone - thanks!

  • Do as much work as you can standing up instead of sitting down. I had an adjustable keyboard tray which I could raise up and I'd raise my computer screen and stand. You burn more calories just standing. If you can't adjust your keyboard tray, you can organize your desk so that some tasks can be performed standing instead…
  • Fill up on the low calorie fresh fruits & veggies, low fat yogurt, etc for snacks. Drink coffee, tea, herbal teas. And silly as it sounds, keep your hands busy...knit or crochet or cross stitch etc if you enjoy it (i find I don't crave food if my hands are busy). And brushing your teeth after every meal helps, too. Ask…
