  • I lost my first 50 pounds through diet change alone. When I began, I was not able to do a lot of exercise. But as I lost weight and started to feel better, I started exercising and gradually increased the amount I was able to do.

  • My carbs are in excess of 200 almost every day, and I have lost a lot of weight. I have never worried about how many carbs I am eating, and it seems to be working out.

  • If what you are doing is working for you, I would leave it alone. I have been on a plant based (vegan) diet since I started losing weight, and the biggest majority of my calories come from carbs. They are carbs from whole food, fruits and veggies, etc. But it has not slowed my weight loss at all apparently!

  • It is true, like several others have posted, that going vegetarian does not guarantee weight loss. There are a ton of foods that are unhealthy and fattening, and still vegetarian. But the good news is, if you avoid the processed stuff, you can eat a LOT of fresh fruits and vegetables and still lose weight.

  • My advice.... Dont do it. You can lose weight and learn better eating habits without starving yourself. That is just setting yourself up for failure.
