Oh man, it better not just be me! :#

Yay Robin! Starts Saturday!!! I've been rowing a lot more this year as a political destressor, but no weight change. About a month ago I started tracking my food again (and avoiding ice cream and alcohol-- my other political destressors) and suddenly I am losing weight again. :-)

STARTS TOMORROW! OR MAYBE TODAY, DEPENDS ON YOUR TIME ZONE!!
-
Anyone doing this in 2016? This is an individual challenge: http://log.concept2.com/challenges/mud-season-madness There is also a team challenge starting March 15. Why not do both?
-
I'm doing this one this year!

Welcome, Bud_, Inkratlet, and Solarfish! I have been remiss in my rowing group manners (and MFP in general) the past few months, but it's great to have newcomers! To be honest, there is less activity here than in our timelines. We have a team of about 20 regulars that compete in the C2 team challenges, and we encourage…
-
YMCAs also often have C2s and have day passes (or free if you already belong to a Y). I'm starting a thread for the World Erg Challenge-- overlaps with March Mudness but it's a team challenge!

Hey hey, sign up for Virtual Challenge with the MFP Friends team! Join a team here: http://log.concept2.com/challenge/events/teammember.asp Select "MFP Friends" as your team. Remember, you MUST sign up for each team challenge. Let's go!

Here are my goals:* ROW. EVERY. DAMN. DAY. * 150K * beat Mary! STARTS TOMORROW.
-
Yes, you're all set!
-
Yes! I am participating, both to keep myself on track, and to get ready for the January 1 TEAM CHALLENGE.
-
Face it lady, you are now!!! Top woman! I will crush you someday. Did I say that outloud?
-
I just looked up the World erg challenge (which I had to drop out of) and y'all rowed 2.3 million meters! WOW. Can we top that???
-
16 members! Let's get it to 20! (But not over... ;-) ) I recruited my husband (injured runner) to start rowing. Even if he rows 1k a day, it still might make a difference in the end overcoming the spa misfits or forum flyers or whoever dares compete for our virtual team, 5-20 crown! Last fall I rowed 100k and my goal this…

OF COURSE it's okay! Every meter counts! Everybody sign up! http://log.concept2.com/log_team.asp

We're signed up now for the Fall Team Challenge. Go to the C2 website and search under teams for "MFP Friends". Starts in two weeks!
-
I'm gonna try, but that last week looks pretty brutal. 6k a day everyday is not impossible though. We don't have to sign up for this one, just log our meters right?
-
There's an great story here about the awesome 71 year old woman who rowed 2 million meters (an yet finished second!) in the challenge: http://wwmt.com/shared/news/features/top-stories/stories/wwmt_-71yearold-parchment-woman-rows-85k-meters-day-19825.shtml#.U1EeQ-ZdXlX Great job everybody!

I have been greatly helped by regular exercise, talk therapy (CBT especially), but especially light therapy (I swear my Philips Go-lite has kept me off meds the past five winters). Please talk to someone in real life who knows you (family, friend or doctor) and can help you decide the severity of your symptoms. When you're…

We have both a "team" and "affiliation" on the concept 2 site-- look for "MFP Friends". You need to join the team to be part of the team challenge, and you can join the affiliation if you want but it's not necessary. The world erg challenge is just basically, you row as much as you can and compete against other virtual and…

Getting old should be our proof we are doing something right!

That's hilarious, because every time I go to the basement, I feel like my C2 is looking at ME with skepticism. ;-) Jeff (he's around here someplace) recommended an ebook a while ago that I found helpful, which makes a convincing argument for rowing daily: http://www.amazon.com/Daily-Breathe-Deeper-Live-Better/dp/0595434371…

I'm ID #: 950003 and I'm down for 5k a day. I'm just going to go ahead and do it everyday because the last week is my kid's spring break and I don't know how much I can do then. I am doing it first thing in the am, "before my brain knows what I'm doing."
-
Is. There. A. Team. Why yes! Glad you asked! We are "MFP Friends" on the concept2 site. Please join us! We are a friendly and encouraging bunch.
-
Someone asked a similar question below (see "Calculating effort" thread) a while back. I wear a HRM when I erg, and I find that even if I'm rowing fairly hard (sweating, HR 145-155, yelling at the kid NOT NOW when he asks how to build a ender portal in minecraft), my calories are generally 20% lower than what MFP gives me…

We are the MFP Friends, and we had some monster rowers this time. For our grouping, it looks like we ended in second place, right behind a team that includes members of the US men's lightweight quad. I'm happy to say I reached my goal of 100K. I'm going to shoot to do that again next month too, what the hell.
-
Welcome chelso0o! There are a number of onwater rowers here, and even more of us who do most of rowing indoors. Some of us are in the home stretch of the Virtual Team Challenge on the Concept 2 website. It may be quiet for the couple days while we get the last of our meters in, and then recover, but it's a pretty friendly…
-
My rowing goal is simple: to develop a daily rowing practice. I'm starting tomorrow, with the C2 virtual team challenge, which I will plug again here because it starts tomorrow!!! ;-) Cubsgirl, i am a die hard Sox fan, but I encourage you to sign up for the "MFP Friends" team on the C2 site (see the other thread or message…

Absolutely for sure there will be a team this year. Our fierce captain Michele (m1311) is registering the team today with the challenge on the C2 site. Look for MFP Friends on the C2 site and ask to join. Also (to anyone who wants to join the challenge) befriend me and the others, because team chatter is mostly on our…
