  • With my first two, it all melted off within 3 months.. However, I'm 5 years older this time around. I had my baby 5 weeks ago and have lost 33lbs, although I put on a bit more with this one, so I have about 25lbs before I get down to my pre-pregnancy weight. I doubt I'll make it there by the time I hit three months post…
  • I've never heard of that, nor was that my experience breastfeeding my first two. Mind you, I breastfed each of them until 2, so by then they were mostly comfort feeding and my breasts had already shrunk.
  • For what it's worth- I had prodomal labour from 36 weeks onward. I was afraid I'd have him before 37 weeks, ruiningy chanes of a home birth, but I went to almost 43 weeks. ;-)
  • I can relate. I put on 10 more pounds with my third baby than I did with my first two pregnancies, putting me over 160lbs!!!!! (My prepregnancy weight hovers around 110lbs give or take.) It's really difficult to watch those number creep up, but just remember that baby needs it, and so will your body after you have baby.…
  • 5'5" 164lbs the day I went into labour. Had the baby January 20 at 42.5weeks gestation. Currently 135lbs - with 4lbs of that being giant milk filled boobies. ;-)
  • Care to elaborate? It had nothing to do with judgement and everything to do with health. Health goes beyond eating and exercising. I'm just trying a topic other than 'new pregnancy symptoms' or 'worried about the glucose test.'
  • I was simply curious as to why health stopped at mom, that's all. Just wanted to read the dialogue.
  • Sounds like you needed it. That's the way my pregnancy goes, too. I start gaining from the moment I conceive because I develop an unsatiable appetite that first trimester. I go back to 'normal' after that, but by then, my body's metabolism has changed with the pregnancy, so I just continue to gain. But, with breastfeeding,…
  • Good question! I've been stunned (and honestly, felt a bit bad about myself!) coming into this group and seeing so little weight gain! It's hard not to feel like, "wait! What am I doing wrong?" I couldn't imagine just putting on a few pounds! I gained a full 40lbs with my first two pregnancies and was completely prepared…
  • Are you seeing a registered massage therapist? I go every 3 weeks, and it's wonderful.
  • I gained 20lbs by 20 weeks during all 3 of my pregnancies.
  • Well, I just posted in the larger group, but maybe I'd prefer the smaller one.. Height: 5'5" Starting weight: 112lbs Current weight: 148lbs (I'll be 34 weeks on Wednesday) Total gain so far: 36lbs I actually had a really weird jump this week where I put on 7lbs, which surprised me. It's not water weight, and it's not…
  • Yikes! Well, I suppose I've probably put on the most weight- Height: 5'5 Starting weight: 112lbs Current weight: 148lbs (33 weeks, 5 days pregnant with third child.) Total weight gain so far: 36lbs
  • That's why medical staff use it as a scare tactic on women. It sounds scary, doesn't it? This is why women need to do their own research and not just rely on medical staff. Read the works of Henci Goer, Ina May Gaskin, Marsden Wagner, etc... Make sure you have a complete education and not just what the medical…
  • GD is not real diabetes. The method for testing does not mimic real life. You can completely turn down this test; it's a useless one. As long as you are eating well and getting some light exercise, you're basically fine. What is your concern and why are you even testing for this?…
