Great post! That is what I am talking about.
-
Sorry for the misunderstanding, i was speaking of myself when I said lots and lots of beer.
-
I have lost a total of 75 lbs (25 on 3 different occasions) and did it healthfully without counting calories in a very quick pace (average 8 weeks for 25 lbs). It came back from other reasons: abusing alcohol, health issues
-
For me, it wasn't portion sizes per se...It was just a lot of alcohol. I have been physically fit the past 3 years but turning 21 has been a nightmare for me (+college) I lost an inital 25lbs and kept it off for 3 years because I changed what I liked to eat. I eventally (honestly) was disgusted by McDonalds, Taco Bell, ice…

I like this post. I still wonder how accurate labels are, though. Ive always been curious. There is a possibility that people who believe they are really eating 1800 could be actually be eating between 1600-2000
-
But the thing about this that bothers me personally is, how do you really know 1800 calories the exact right amount for your body? My take on this is (okay, I want that ice cream I have two choices: Eat less in the day or 2) throw in 10 minutes worth of cardio to make up for it) and of course who REALLY knows how many…
-
I don't disagree with this, I am just saying for me personally, id rather have less calorie dense food and larger portions of food that will actually fill me up and keep me from gaining fat. Thats all.
-
Right. I mean, I use to not care really at all what I ate because I had a good 30 minute cardio/heavy weightlifting thing going on and I wanted to gain weight (okay, let me clear that up, I cared to the point I wouldn't eat fastfood or desserts, but I would put toppings/sauces on my food and add sugar to my coffee) but…

I've noticed I don't honestly believe you know what you are talking about. When dieting and exercising you want to be satisfied and filled. I never said "easy" (that I can recall) anywhere on this thread. You have completely misinterpreted everything I have posted.
-
If you notice, I am only responding to people who are on the offensive. there have been 20 people disagree I haven't talked to. The whole point was for opinion not how stupid I am for not counting calories.
-
Dude I 100% agree with you. Good/bad are subjective on your goals.
-
Water and food material are a little bit different, physically first of all. I agree with you. that those things matter, yes, 100%, but the amount you eat in COMPARISON with the volume is what really matters. I could eat a mcdonalds cheeseburger and get 20g of protein and this vitamin and that or I could eat a larger…
-
No, I don't think anyone should literally do this. The point is you would be FULL and not be able to eat anymore. THUS you would have only eaten 700 calories for the day (obviously no other nutrients but NO ONE would actually do this I hope) But the thing when you pick foods that have nutrients but are lower calories in…
-
You have got to be kidding me. I will repeat myself, again. I never said avocados are bad, they just are when you are DIETING. You can get the same nutrients from other sources that will help you feel more SATISFIED physically in your stomach. It is about the volume of food you eat in COMPARISON with the calories that…

Thanks for the tip. I threw strawberries in the mix, because they are bit higher than a lot of vegetables. I am not telling anyone to under eat, all I am saying is If you choose to eat a calorie dense food like mashed potatoes and either have a smaller portion or a smaller portion of another meal later, it is going to be…

Just like I told someone else...go eat 10 cans of greenbeans, you will feel FULL and you won't eat again today (ONLY 700 CALORIES, woo hoo!), I promise..because you know your stomach is a certain size...and physically your food is a certain size. Did you even go to a high school?
-
How is this concept so difficult to understand? Go eat 10 cans of greenbeans (a total of 700 calories) I promise you wont eat again today, and look! You only had 700 calories and you were full! Clear, now?
-
Where on there does it say "if you count calories you are a complete idiot"? Nowhere, I stated MY opinion and ASKED for others. But telling me that I am stupid for coming onto a website where a lot of people count calories and asking if some people get frustrated by that is pretty rude.
-
I gained my weight (almost all of it) from alcohol...not coors light or bud light, but full on calorie alcohol...and when you party 2-3 times a week and consume 4-6 200 calorie drinks on top of your normal food for a year, it starts to add up. It had nothing to do with counting calories, what happened is I ate (or in this…
-
And what exactly do I have to learn from this statement? High calorie foods cause you to gain weight period. They could be strawberries or they could be KFC. The point Ive been trying to make is about VOLUME your stomach can hold. For example: Someone who is overweight wouldn't run to the store and buy a bunch of…

I didn't realize this whole entire website was counting calories. I didn't know that diets/exercise routines were all 100% about counting calories. I never complained about counting calories in the first place, I simply said that it makes me frustrated and I personally know people who have given up because of it. Then i…

Why am I on this site? To chat with people about weightloss and hopefully to find some people that weren't ****s like at many other comparable sites. Is there really a reason or need to ask?
-
Thats cool! Usually you don't hear people who really enjoy it. Although, to me I always thought it was interesting...what if the calorie counts are complete estimates and over the course of the day you actually ate 200-300 more/less. But, that probably isn't true.
-
Sorry, as I listed in the other post, it is all about calories to weight in stomach (volume) so I agree with you on there. Yes, obviously your whole diet is dependent on each meal. Are avocados "bad"? If you are losing weight, absolutely. That would be counterproductive. But if you are a weightlifter and you can…

In my young adult life, Ive lost a combine total of 75 pounds (25 lbs on 3 separate occasions) and never once counted calories for more than a day. My point is: Your body/stomach goes by the weight of the food not the calories. For example, currently I eat over 3000 calories a day, which would be something around 50 cans…
-
I disagree with you. Food can be classified as good/bad. How? calories per portion size. For example: 12 oz bottle of chocolate milk: 200-something calories 12 bottle of skim milk: at least 50-70 calories less. I don't need to track calories to know that the chocolate milk contains a lot more sugar and calories and it…

Well I find it different for girls a guys. I mean, when you go from fat food and lots (and lots) of beer to: 30 minutes of exercise a day Water Chicken/Ham/Turkey etc. Vegetables I am willing to bet most people can figure what is going to happen to your body after 4-6 months of that. Not these are the only healthy choices…

Well just looking for people in similar situations to talk to, I really could careless about the calorie counting tool or anything like that. With the way I have been eating throwing an hour of elliptical in a day and eating what I know I should will take care of any excess weight I dont want, but the problem is staying on…
-
That sounds awesome! I just don't want people to think that it is a necessity and freak themselves out to early in the game. A lot of rapid/healthy weight loss can occur if you just know the foods you are eating.

Hi! You know I have a body type that likes to build..which is a good thing and a bad thing. Every single thing that I eat sticks to me and over the past year those things that Ive ate weren't good for me and it shows. When I was 11 years old, I grew up in a rough neighborhood so school and home were both nightmares for me…
