Yet society has been eating large amounts of white rice for decades and we're all fine. It's all about the dose-I suspect the dose for this would have to be outrageous in order for it to do damage.

I haven't posted in forever and kinda laid off the swimming for a bit. But two weeks ago I participated in a relay triathalon with friends and I did the swim leg-it was how many laps you could complete in 15 minutes. I did well apparently-I got 900 yards in, was beat only by some college kid who busted out with 1300 yards.…

I didn't see anything where the OP said she was bipolar. She asked if it could be taken for weight loss.

Four years and you're still taking it? Must not be working that great then... And to the person saying it costs 5-10 bucks at a restaurant...try cooking your own meals. Much healthier AND cheaper. The options are not all pre-cooked, shakes or restaurants.

Sounds like another unsustainable diet. You might lose because of the ridiculously low calories, but it's not going to stick. You're on MFP, why not just use this?

Yoga would be good to strengthen your core if it involves those type of poses. It involves strength to hold those poses, but it's not a substitute for weight lifting. It's more like a supplement, for flexibility and injury prevention.

Are they expecting a healthy diet ALL the time? Do they offer room for variation because of a special occasion....or a Saturday out?

How do you know? It's not like you can tell what nutrients you are or aren't absorbing? You're the same height and weight as me. We're right in the middle of "normal" for our height. I'm fine with my weight because I am muscular, and if I drop too low I look sickly. What type of exercise are you doing? Does it include…

Vitamins don't hinder weight loss. Taking in more calories than you are burning does.

When my husband cooks with cayenne, it's too spicy and I can't eat it, therefore I lose weight.

They could take his license away if he is acting unethically. He did take the Hippocratic oath after all.

Yes compulsive eating is a disorder-in the DSM-V it's considered Binge Eating disorder, one of three eating disorders including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, in a category specific to eating disorders, NOT an addiction. The compulsive nature of eating can be similar to the compulsive nature of abusing substances,…

This trainer is a joke. He's not qualified to discuss your medications with you at all, like others have said. He's a trainer. He should be working with you on your fitness. That's all. As far as vitamins and supplements go, it's always good to review those with your doctor too, because some might interact with your meds,…

You're on MFP. Why not try diet and exercise? It's free and works for the long-term.

Guess I better stop smoking my bagels.

I prefer my husband when he shaves his head, as long as the beard/goatee is there to balance it. Which I see you have ;-)

I wish, but I do not get full on smaller amounts. I can keep up with the men in my life in terms of appetite. I'd love to eat like the dainty, 5ft nothing that I am! :-)

Sometimes I think that analogy almost reads like a passive aggressive attempt at equating omnivores to racists.

The point is that if you are going to try to convert people, you're more likely to have them listen to your cause if you don't use such extreme examples or language. That being said, while I appreciate how passionate you are about your vegan cause, respect should be had for others who don't share your beliefs. There are…

I suspect you will also find that higher rates of osteoporosis are linked to a lack of weight-bearing exercise. Eastern countries are more active, as opposed to Western countries that drive everywhere and sit on their couches for days on end. I'm not even going to touch all the other stuff....way too much proselytizing for…

I used to do this with my button quail.

Some would also say drinking ACV daily looks ridiculous, yet we've had two threads about that recently.

Do you have a local running store? They usually can measure your feet, take a look at your gait, and recommend shoes. They could also recommend arch supports.

Are you diabetic?

They have birthday cake Oreos. Disgusting. [/quote] I disliked the birthday cake ones. Also gross were the banana split ones. Very synthetic tasting banana flavor-it's so hard to do banana right. The fudge covered raspberry ones were good though.

You're seeing "negative energy" here because people who are misinformed spread incorrect info as if it is truth, and that can be very hurtful to others who maybe come to the site looking for guidance. We all have had to wade through the woo, and if we can save others' time then there's no harm in that.

I think the point is if this worked, everyone would do it and we wouldn't need to lose weight.
