  • Most of my clothes (workout included) have come from Walmart. I especially love the Rider comfort stretch waistband jeans they have. If I need something fancier, I go to Dress Barn.
  • I don't know if there's a group, but there's a thread of Garmin peeps here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10170723/garmin-loneliness/p1

  • Odd, a couple of other people added me and everything's set public...
  • I have the vivofit (similar, but a step "down" as far as Garmin models go) and I love it. It's simple but does exactly what I need it to. I'll be interested in the responses as well because I've seriously considered upgrading to the vivosmart.
  • I have a vivofit. My username is leighbee1934. Feel free to add me! I'd love to connect with other Garmin users! :)
  • I used to get them all the time, usually on the placebo days of my bc pills. Now that I have an IUD, I'm told they will go away completely. There was no eating or exercise with mine. Dark, silent room. And lots of Excedrin. I hope you find something that works because they are the worst!
  • That's AWESOME!!!
  • Write 2015 on everything instead of 2014. ....and eat better and workout more and all that jazz.
  • I currently am not exercising other than the small amount of walking to class I do. I'm in my last semester of college and I *chose* not to exercise because that was just too much. For. ME. As far as weight loss, I have been losing, just eating at the deficit MFP gives me. I'm decently consistent with my logging and I'm…
  • Yup. Twice. Lost 50 of 70, gained 25 back. Lost that 25, gained 50 back. Now back to lose the 70. FOR THE LAST TIME. :) You can do it!
  • I try really hard to keep at a deficit and within reason make sure I don't feel deprived of the things I love. Like my Boyfriend's Mom's *homemade* apple pie. I still log everything, but allow myself to eat at maintenance. Probably happens on average, one day out of every two weeks. I plan on giving myself more maintenance…
  • I have to be able to see the number the same way I have to be able to see my bank account balance. I can get in denial quickly with "Certainly I didn't spend *that* much at Vera Bradley" and "Nooo, I only ate 1 candy bar". Self accountability for me, it absolutely necessary.
  • You look great! Congratulations! :)
  • You have inspired me! I'm going to set a goal to lost 27 pounds by my 27th birthday - which is next July. :D Should be well within doable, but between now and then I'll be finishing and graduating college (50 days ;) ), starting as a FT employee at my internship, and moving...again (groan). So I'm going to give myself…
  • -Yes, log every day. -Rarely, if I do, I remember by my next meal. -147 days -I keep logging because...chocolate. I have stopped logging in the past because I overeat and get depressed/disgusted with myself. This year, I went on vacation and overate but logged it all. And. Did. Not. Die. :) ;)
  • I'm using the Active Network, LLC (developer) Couch-to-5K app (starting week 2). I found 2 that connect to MFP in some way (https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps/show/134 and https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps/show/131) and I think I'm going to give one/both of those a try. I like the Active one, it gets the job done, but it…
  • My mom used to run track and she always told me to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. I usually try to time each breath to last 2-3 strides. In In In, Out Out Out........ If you keep trying and you still don't like it, don't do it! All things are not for all people. Find something you enjoy and do…
  • Started with 71lbs to lose, I've lost 10, so I'm down to 61 left. Losing that will get me to ~162lbs which is the tippy top of the healthy BMI for my height. I'll stay put or lose some more depending on how I feel when I get there.
  • Absolutely not. They would have to pry my cat from my cold, dead hands.
  • ^^ agree. I would not try to do 3 miles your first day, you risk getting hurt. As far as going forward, it helped me starting out to take it one thing at a time. I set my weight loss on here to be 1 lb/week (even though I have enough to lose to set it at 1.5 at least) and I just logged. Once I got a handle on that amount…
  • I start week 2 tomorrow! Feel free to add me :)
  • I also work at a desk job and 2 months ago when I started back here, I decided to get my eating under control first - start logging consistently and completely, and start developing a healthy relationship with food, then moving back to getting active again. I didn't really exercise, but I stayed within my calorie goal and…
  • Started going back to the gym. Hadn't been in 2 months when I said I was going to try working out at night instead of the morning. Morning just works better for me. WHOOP!
  • Usually when I raise my veggie intake drastically, I get that problem too. I agree with @TeaBea on the Fiber One bars. OY. Good luck! :)
  • The first time I derailed was because I had shoulder surgery and felt sorry for myself because I couldn't exercise (avid runner). The second time was last summer. I got happy. Really happy. We went out to dinner all the time. I wish both times I had been more aware of the weight gain. Major denial.
  • The first time I lost 50 pounds, I went from a size 9 to a size 8. I couldn't believe it was a thing!
  • My boyfriend was on Medifast for a few months, and I tried it with him for a couple weeks. It. Was. AWEFUL. It only adds up to ~1000 calories for the day. I was sooo tired and hungry all the time. :grumble: That and the food is *okay* but for the price? SOOO not worth it. (~$300/month :noway: ) I am SO much happier just…
  • Yes. 68 days until graduation and a full night's sleep. (but who's counting?!?! )
  • Agree. I don't usually pay attention to who has been gone and for how long etc. I got enough crap to worry about in my own life. :flowerforyou:
  • I did the same thing at first. Between Jazzercise and not eating enough, for a couple days in a row, I had a net of 400-500. (Ate 1300 worked off 500-600). I had to start slowly to avoid binging. After dinner, I would wait a few minutes and get a bowl of cereal. Gradually, I was able to start eating a little more and…
