i'm going to be completely candid. i say i started this journey to fit into my jeans. to lose 30lbs by my 30th bday. the real reason i started this journey is that i'm taking new life-saving medication that has some serious side effects. i have to monitor my cholesterol, my fat intake, my sodium, sugars, carbs,…

skirts have always been one of my favorite things to wear. so last, last new years i wore a skirt while walking around in vegas, naturally. bc so much of the strip was closed down, the cabs couldn't take you very far, so we all had to walk everywhere. i hadn't realized how much weight i'd gained. but by the end of the…

so i took new progress photos this morning before i ran out the door to work. honestly, i can barely see any real difference from my last update, but i'm okay with that. it's still a huge difference from my original before photo. as long as i didn't gain right? hehehe... i'm currently holding at 140-143 lbs at 5'2". and…

i don't have a gym membership and i'm soooo terrible at working on machines. this works for others quite well. but i just require more interaction and motivation. check out local gyms in ur area, look up their class offerings and call the gym for a free trial membership. most will also throw in a personal training session.…

Ezekiel bread, while not the lowest in cals, is frequently on the #1 lists of what to eat while on a health plan. I invest in Ezekiel bread. It's so high in fiber that you'll be fine just eating 1 slice, you won't even want the 2nd one. And anyways, I prefer the taste of this bread. :)

wow, i'm really sorry. but you know what, congratulations on your determination and for standing your ground! i was googling "reasons husbands sabotage diet" and got SO MANY HITS! here are some interesting stories: "I had one patient who lost 30 pounds, and her husband took her on a two-week tour of three-star restaurants…

Thanks ladies!!!!! Yesterday I completely demolished my goals by almost double. But it's all good. I went to a sushi dinner and it was delicious and worth every single excessive calorie. ;) Oh! I got this as a belated xmas gift from my friend. I thought some of you might find this REALLY handy. It's a hoodie with built in…

i drink all my tea without any sweeteners. that's how my culture drinks it. besides... i really don't have any kind of a sweet tooth, even as a kid i didnt! (i drink my coffee black too.) i happen to like slightly bitter flavors, so i actually never remove the teabag. i cut the strings and let the bag steep indefinitely.…

I grew up drinking green tea so I love it. But it's got all kinds of crazy health benefits. Check this out from WebMD: "It's difficult not to gush about green tea. More than a decade's worth of research about green tea's health benefits -- particularly its potential to fight cancer and heart disease -- has been more than…

ive never heard of this and had to google it. personally its not something i would ever try unless i ran it by my personal physician, but since you aren't asking for our opinion as much as a fact check, here is what i found. :) http://www.squidoo.com/SHAKEOLOGY-3-DAY-CLEANSE Daily Regimen: 1 cup of green tea to start the…

It actually works your full core: abs, obliques, lower back... and if you're doing it right, then you're working your arms, your shoulders, your hips, your quads, your upper back.... it's an AMAZING all body workout. that's why your whole body starts shaking when you reach your limit. lol... keep up the great work! :)

thank you thank you! so.... i found a really bad before picture.... it was from a costume themed birthday party. the worst part is that when this photo was taken, i wasn't even at my heaviest!!! i gained another 7-10lbs after this pic was taken. and as my fellow 5'2" gals know, that's a lot on our frames. ::sigh:: here…

Thank you all! It's frustrating that the lower I get in body fat, the more work it takes to see change. I haven't yet really kicked it into high gear, so I don't think I've plateau-ed yet. I hadn't worked out in 3.5 wks and just barely started getting back into it this last week. Hopefully the next photos I take, there…

OMG I totally forgot about Kinesio Tape. Best. Thing. Ever. LOL.... I still don't understand how it works, but I do know that it works. See if your doctor offers it, or if you get a minimum of free yearly chiro appts. You can look it up online. Once you learn how to apply it, you can buy the tape yourself. :)

Thanksss! Honestly, the silly side-by-side comparison photos really helped motivate me. I was one month in, and I could see the numbers on the scale changing drastically, and yet... I couldn't see it. I didn't think I was really making too much of a visual difference. It was really demotivating and I almost went on a…
