Highly recommend HRM's not only for keeping track of your intensity but also for safety, also you might think about adding dip bars or push up bars they allow you to get a deeper push or dip. Good luck!

Depending on what you want Polar makes a great line of HRM/Fitness watches, there are also watches by Garmin that are very useful...I have a Polar and have had no issues with it, I'm actually thinking about getting a new device, maybe a Nike Fuelband or the FitBit Ultra..not exactly sure what the benefits are to these…

Maybe you should look into water rehabilitation training, I have heard that it creates less impact on the spine and yet gives good results. I missed the fact that you mentioned that in your post...

You would think with the popularity of the BeachBody line of exercises they would make a detailed category for those programs, I really like this site but that could be a deal breaker if recording exercises becomes too problematic....
