I wonder if you might befriend one of those other runners you see in the mornings - maybe another female if that is easier? Someone to run with is best; if not, you might consider getting a can of mace to take, or take a self defense class. That combined with the sensible measures you already taking MIGHT be sufficient…

It's an election year... The only sure cure for BS is a good set of noise canceling headphones, welding grade dark glasses, and going cold turkey on the internet. However, the Hookers & Blow might be an acceptable substitute!
