I just started exercising intensely this month and mine was a week early - no worries! Apparently it's a common thing. And do whatever exercises make you feel good and lift your mood. I love spinning/cycling :)

Your story is so inspirational by the way! I'm sure that you'll find MFP to be a really helpful tool as you continue your fitness journey :)

I've been on MFP for a month and it has completely changed my outlook on fitness. I struggled with defining "healthy" throughout my teens - tried a lot of diets and that kind of thing. Here, I have finally found a tool to track my fitness and be healthy while still enjoying life and not torturing myself with it...It really…

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far, by the way. I am going to schedule an appointment with a campus nutritionist for when I return to school in the fall.

Well, I'm trying to work towards it. I feel like 1300 is a good starting point... Going from less than 1200 to "normal" in a day would probably be abrupt, right?

I think it's really good!

It's really hard to pick favorites. My five favorites would likely be different from these, but here are the ones that I would call "life-changers" (or savers): Joni Mitchell - Blue Carole King - Tapestry Kate Walsh - Tim's House Ani DiFranco - Imperfectly Cheryl Wheeler - Different Stripe

Really wanted to do Raw. I really wish that I could, but I tried it for a week and constantly felt like I was about to pass out.

"It's always sunny in Philadelphia" ^I live in the city with no A/C. Believe me, I know.

Thank you so much for this response - your advice about diet is really helpful! I guess eating a moderate level of carbohydrates is so new to me that I don't quite know how my body is supposed to feel. I should probably raise my calorie goal at least a bit and try to incorporate more calories regardless of how I feel. I…

I would consider myself moderately active, meaning that I run an average of 2 miles per day at about a 6 mph pace. I've been doing that for about a month now. What you said about feeling the effects later does make sense! The big change that I made was really in diet (adding carbs). I was wondering whether this could have…

My weight has fluctuated a lot over the past few years. I'm 21 years old and weighed in at 137 lb this morning. When I was a freshman in college I dropped down to 119 (way too low) and I think the highest weight I've seen was almost 139. I'm aiming for 127 now for a thin but still healthy weight.

This is my second day using MFP and am so excited about the great tools that are available here! I would love to get in touch with some new friends as well :)

I am now 21 years old/5'8''/137lb and trying to lose about 10. I have eaten low-carb for much of the past four years under misled advice that this was a good way to live healthily and lose weight. My experience with the low-carb mentality was extremely destructive. Not only did my weight stay the same, but I also gained…
