I have had endometriosis for about 15 years, and chronic pelvic pain syndrome for about 10. I've been on disabilty for about 10 years now. Just found out my endo is probably stage IV, so I have no idea what the future will hold. I find it difficult to keep on top of staying physically active because of pain, but I'm hoping…

Feel free to add me as well. I'm just starting up again on MFP as well.

I'm also interested in joining!

Sizing depends on where you live and what kind of clothing. Different countries have different sizes. A UK size 12 is not the same as a US 12. While junior tend to be built for tweens and tweens, misses tends to be smaller in bust/hip size than women's. Ready to wear clothing size is not constant. I sew my own clothes…

I'm currently just dieting alone. I'm trying to incorporate more activity into my day as well. I have a chronic pain condition and currently have been experiencing tremendous fatigue for the last few months, which has gotten in the way of adding as many workouts into my regime as I'd like. I know that exercise will give me…

I'm prone to boredom eating too. My solution is to just not keep the things that can pile up calorie wise in my cupboards anymore. It means that the quick and easy snacks are healthy, but if I crave a cookie, it means I have to haul out everything to bake them, and then do dishes after. That, and snacking on things with…

I love them roasted with a bit of oil and salt and pepper and rosemary. If you haven't tried golden beets yet, they're delicious, They taste a little less earthy than the deep red ones, but have a mild, sweet flavour. I like to roast them sliced up with other root veggies in the winter and toss them with a melted…

Rawr! That's a pretty inspiring transformation. Even though I'm just starting out (again), I have to keep reminding myself that strengthening my body is what's going to trim more inches than counting my calories.

I notice this too, not just here but all over the internet. So many angry, bitter or toxic people. I can't say I understand why this is a thing, or if it's always been this way and I only noticed it recently, but I just try to distance myself from it or stay lurking in threads where hostility runs amok. I find it's usually…

My musical tastes are all over the place, but my favourites for working out tend to be bands like The Gun Club, Die Antwoord, Gogol Bordello, System of a Down, Iggy and the Stooges, Front 242...things that have a faster beat. There are a tonne more, but I usually make a playlist and hit shuffle.

I started at 165, today I'm 155. I'll be happy as a toned 145, but if I can get to 135 that's cool too. Mostly I'm aiming to feel good in my body again, rather than a specific number on the scale. I can retain and lose a few pounds and inches of water/inflammation in a single day, so the scale is not nearly as accurate for…

I'm not a nutritionist, but I think it probably wouldn't make much difference which milk you use in regards to fat, as long as you were within your daily limits for fats consumed. Having said that, animal fats are saturated whereas many (but not all) plant based fats tend to be unsaturated. Some health issues may require…

I make my own yogurt, and made my 1st Greek yogurt this week. You could buy a full fat plain yogurt and line a colander with cheese cloth (or get a super duper fine mesh strainer) and let the whey strain out of the yogurt into a pot below. Takes an hour or two. Some folks actually squeeze the whey out, but it's easier to…

I add a wee bit of vanilla extract, and about 1/2 tsp of real maple syrup (it's sugar yes, but it also has B vitamins) to 1/2 cup of my unflavoured yogurts. If I use it in a smoothie, I'll just blend with banana and berries to sweeten. I don't mind eating it plain though, with just the vanilla. Cinnamon can also be used as…

Welcome :) Feel free to add me. I used to be vegetarian until I developed multiple food sensitivies (soy/wheat/some dairy). While I find it too difficult to be 100% vegetarian anymore, I still cook many meatless meals, and some of my favourite recipes are actually vegan.

A leafy green salad with mixed raw veggies, top it with sliced baked salmon done in lemon pepper, dill and capers with a vinaigrette drizzled on top?

I agree with you. Those products are all valuable tools for the folks they do help, but not all smoking cessation therapies and NRT's work for all people. Ditto for pharmaceuticals. I'm genuinely happy for anyone who's successfully quit using any method. It's such a difficult thing to do for a lot of us. I have tried the…

I've been vaping a year and 2 months now and I could not have stopped tobacco otherwise. I had tried literally everything to no avail. I started with a 510, upgraded to an Ego, now I use an SVD and rebuildables when I'm at home. I have cut my nicotine in half since last summer, and plan to drop to 6mg this spring. Because…

Where can you find this? Who makes this? I am so on it the minute I find some in my local grocery store.

I love sushi, maki and sashimi. I think it just comes down to what type of maki rolls you're talking about, and taking into consideration how much rice you will be eating and what else you're consuming as part of your meal. A regular negi toro roll is certainly healthier and has fewer calories than a deep fried one, even…

I prefer almond milk to coconut milk because the coconut milks (Silk, Coconut Dream) that I've tried don't seem to have calcium fortification. Both are quite tasty to me, but I would otherwise have a tough time getting enough calcium in my diet otherwise.

I always wondered how this was made. It's one of my favourites when I go out for sushi. Definitely need to keep dental floss in my purse when I eat out and have this! Yum!

Urine colour is also a good indicator of what your water intake should be, provided you're otherwise healthy (ie no renal or other health issues that affect renal function). If it's very dark and concentrated (outside of 1st thing in the morning), you probably need to up your fluid intake. If urine is too pale, you may be…

Sorry to hear about the breakup. And the cravings. I did a lot of comfort eating and became a bit of a hermit after my divorce. Wish I hadn't. But I did. Once the greiving is over with, look at it as an opportunity to end up with someone better suited to you who will make you happy. And in the meantime, be kind to yourself…

I picked my goal weight as the weight I was when I last felt confident and healthy in my body in my late 20's. Which is about 137-145 pounds. I'm 160 now, so I hope to reach this goal by early summer and learn to maintain it. When I was younger, I found that dropping below 130 left me feeling unwell, even when I was…

I currently am not on meds that affect my weight, but I had been on medications that made me gain weight/retain water for about 10 years, up until last year. I've recently come off both Lyrica and a Mirena IUD (hormones), both of which had me gain weight, and the last time I made a real effort to drop weight while taking…

Hey, I'm also relatively new here, similar loss goals and caloric plan. I'll also send you a request :)

These are all awesome points. I'm pretty much doing most of these things now. One thing I want to mention about the movement/exercise tip is to know that exercise (no matter if it's a good walk or a hard workout) will probably help noticeably when dealing with a depressive episode. I find it helps with the fatigue aspect…

I had been a smoker for 20 yrs (ack!), tried the patch, gum, Champix, Zyban, inhalers, cold turkey, hypnosis, Alan Carr....despite these things being worth exploring and trying as they will work for some folks, they did not work for me. I finally got myself an e cig about a year ago and have not had a cigarette since. I am…
