Hey there, this is what works for me. I set my goal to maintain and like to see the left over numbers. Decide what you would like your deficit to be(follow the links above to find a reasonable number) then let that number by your "leftover" at the end of the day. It lets you see what you actually have left over instead of…

You had a lot of water with those calories, hence why it was so filling. It is important to note if your measurement was for cooked or dry noodles though. soup is great though- I love it.

Keep up the good work :) Seems like most new comments are not seeing this update from you!

@PwrLftr82 I have the other problem- I forget to eat if I don't log... oops! Logging is definitely a good thing for me.

Rice Dried beans higher fat meats tend to be cheaper, but I get boneless skinless chicken breast for under $3 a pound, under $2/lb if it's on sale which is usually when I stock up. Potatoes generally the larger bag with the smaller potatoes are cheaper per pound I eat a lot of ramen for the carb content(plus I don't have…

when switching to maintain, just remind yourself that your body is going to replenish it's supply of glycogen which will also have some water retained with it, don't be afraid of gaining a little, it's part of the process. with your intake being so low, you may want to increase your calories slowly to help you feel like…

Good luck ladies, I have quite a bit to cut before bulking, but I do eat all the foods due to my current work lvl lol

I use to not ever feel full, it wasn't hormonal for me, it was mental. I was trying to fill a hole that food could not fill. I was constantly craving something else. Though something else never helped. I only over came it by calling it out as what it was, it was not hunger, it was an emptiness. Now I no longer feel hungry,…

Weight fluctuates. It's normal, don't starve yourself or think that the scale should always 100% be a lower weight... my daily weigh ins look about like this 171.5, 175.2, 169.8, 171.2, 173.8, 169.4, etc... those are all early morning right after going to the rest room and very close to what my weigh ins were this week.…

@usmcmp Thank you! Just the info I was wanting! (about the reason for the refeed)
-
I totally did not know about that notification till you just mentioned me @Closetbunnies Measurements going down are generally a good thing. It means that something's happening, even if water retention is causing the scale to stay the same!
-
What % do you lady's cut to before bulking? Also how long is recommended for a cut before refeeding?
-
Also- take some measurements other than weight.
-
It's all about balance, don't starve yourself. set a reasonable goal based on how much weight you need/want to lose and move towards that goal. What's worked for me- set your goal to maintain first! Eat at maintenance for a week or two or three, how ever long it takes to be comfortable. Then drop below that by a hundred or…

Hello love, congrats on the baby! My partner and I are trying to add to our little family and make our daughter no longer an only child as well. I think at 10 weeks you're still healing, don't be too hard on your self. Try to get outside, weather permitting soak up a little sun. Even through the window if you have a sunny…

I agree- start now if you want to lift! you will retain some water and your muscles will store glycogen, but that's a good thing and not at all stopping you from also losing fat which is the ultimate goal. - edit- hrm does not accurately track weight lifting calories. if you have something like a body media or another full…

Hey peeps, I'm not 5' and I work very physically so I cannot really relate, but just a word of advice that helped me! Set your goal to maintain!! See what that number is. Eat at it or slightly under it for a week or two or three, how every long it takes you to get comfortable. Then mentally subtract your goal deficit from…

I'm 5'8.5" 170ish pounds eating more than double what you're eating and losing weight...

I'm averaging 25k at work, busy season lol

I generally weigh twice a day, once at bedtime and once in the morning, I like to see the differences. I'd like to record it every day, but mfp reannouncing the same fluctuating pound gets annoying... so I record it frequently when I'm doing something new, or if it's a fairly obvious downward or upward trend, then I take a…

No one has seasonal job yoyo?
-
Unfortunately after 4 months my work changes and I have to drop my calories significantly lol. Thanks for your reply though

eat under maintenance, have a reasonable deficit goal, but don't freak out if you go a little over(especially if it's still under maintenance). Try new things- what you did in the past didn't work for you then, prob won't now. Set yourself up for success. Give yourself easy access to things that you want to eat more of.
-
I did not ask as if I were trying to achieve this. I was asking for an opinion on what DID happen. I'm not saying my daily weight was always 170, heck I normally fluctuate 3-7 pounds daily- no biggy, but I was on average 170 at the beginning and the end of the season, and my measurements went down, muscles more defined,…

In your opinion if I increased strength, stayed the same weigh, but got leaner, would I have been eating at maintenance and gaining a tad of muscle? This being from Sept-Dec

"What is your motivation behind having such a variable day to day calorie target?" For one- my work days = 3500-3800 tdee. Off days = ~2000. My main focus is to do my job well as I enjoy it, but I'm also 35% or so body fat so a bit concerned with gaining. "Do you have experience in needing to eat at/above maintenance on…

If it helps- I'm 27y/o F 170 estimated around 35% bf(tape measure and pic comparison) And I use my body media fit to record burn which I've used to lose weight precisely before(when I was also precisely measuring intake of course)

Never heard of that issue, it may just be an issue of retraining yourself. Slow down and focus on you movement(I have had to train my self with over extending to protect my weak knees) If you practice mindfully it should eventually become habit.
-
Anyone else have this issue? (seasonal work) Feel free to add me!

This is such an old post, but I needed to see this again!
