It's cool to see such a positive thread and take time out to celebrate the victories. That's what keeps me going. Way to go everybody!

You could try lifting weights or yoga to help strengthen your core and you might find that without dropping pounds you will look leaner than you do now.

Way to go! My most recent one was running 9 miles last Saturday even though I really wasn't in the mood for it. Next up? 10 miles...just under a year from now I plan on running my first full marathon. I still remember my first mile without stopping. It just gets better from there!

Maybe you will need a new med or a 2nd one? Also, it might be good to have some blood work done. There are other things that can affect your mood like Thyroid problems and other things I know of too but aren't coming to mind at the moment.

You clearly do not live in Oregon or you would never go to the gym. :) If you don't get your butt out the door then at least get it off the couch and do an at home workout. Or don't. It's only your success on the line. ;) Really, one day missed is easy to make up.

5 open 14K slots and 7 reaming 14 mile spots. Get in now if you want in!

I am a stay at home mom of three (my newest just turned 4 months old and my oldest will have her 5th birthday next month). Add me if you'd like. I wouldn't say that I am addicted to food or anything but I do go through fazes where I will feel like I am starting to get addicted to chocolate or sweets or soda or whatever. I…

You can even just google search 5K races in and then type in your area. I have found quite a few that way.

Once it's bruised the nail will fall of so you won't be able to tell how much the compression socks are helping until your nail grows back. You may want to up your shoe size one full size instead of just half a size or maybe find some wider shoes.

I really like whole grain toast with about a half tbs of natural peanut butter and a few drops of agave nectar or honey and a piece of fruit plus an almond milk steamer. Easy to fix and I find non animal based protein keeps me feeling full longer than animal based protein does...might sound weird but whatever works,…

She leaves (probably with a work crew) during the day on those days and then returns to the facility in the evening. I agree with somebody else that sodium is likely to blame at least in part. Also, try pacing in your cell as much as you can. Just to keep moving.

That doesn't even surprise me all that much. You are a very caring and thoughtful person and I can see where it is contagious. I hope he truly does find ways to pay it forward! Somehow, I think he will. :)

Oh, and it doesn't matter what style of martial art you put him in. As long as it is a good school, they will have something helpful to offer.

This! I teach martial arts and one of our biggest things is what to do about bullies. #1. Make sure he knows to go right to a teacher or staff member and tell them what happened EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS. #2. He needs to tell you as soon as he gets home EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS. #3. He AND the school administration need to know…

I agree! Get to your doctor. There are plenty of things it could be including low thyroid. Good luck with it.

You're awesome!

This story is great no matter how many times you read it.

Go to a t-shirt shop where you can get the phrase "If you aren't sweating, you aren't working hard enough!" put on it. Wear it to the gym for spin class as your "workout shirt" and then do your normal shower and clean up stuff so you leave fresh as a daisy. That way you can say "I don't care what you think" without having…

The only thing that I disagree with about a calorie being a calorie is that some types of exercise burns sugar first and then starts burning off fat stores after the sugar in your system is gone so IF you were eating more sugar on a daily basis than what you were burning off, you might not actually lose fat. But for…

It looks like your BMR is about 1916 cals and your tdee is about 2608 cals so you should be consuming a total of that is in between the two numbers so maybe about 2300 cals per day. Also, you should talk to your doctor and make sure that you don't have any underlying issues (like low thyroid or something like that). Also…

Most people building go through bulking and cutting stages. They have to bulk for a while which also tends to add a little body fat but then they cut weight again. I don't 100% understand all the ends and outs as I haven't gotten to that point but I'm sure you could look it up. You do have to have a calorie surplus during…

She is so lucky to have you and the Mrs. in her life. I hope to be able to provide the same kind of comfort to people around me when there is a need.

Just remember that it is your opinion that her body is better than yours. Unless he has said otherwise, it is quite likely that he finds your body more attractive than hers. We as women compare and pick apart our bodies and looks as a whole. We see our flaws while not seeing as many in other women. Not to mention that…

Can you pleeeeease remind me of all of this in about 13 weeks, after I have been home from the hospital for a while and am looking at my post (3rd) baby body and trying not to compare what I see then to what I was seeing in the mirror over this last Christmas? Pleeeeeease!

Love this!

I'm a blackbelt instructor in sho-lin kempo and have only taken breaks when I had new babies. I love it but a lot of people need to take breaks now and then. People that just have it in their blood that end up taking a break for whatever reason end up having it drive them crazy after a while until they finally get back…

At one time the MFP might have been closer but you have been pushing yourself walking for long enough now that it probably takes more work to get your heart rate up to the level it once was. You may find on days that you have a cold or something and are having a harder time breathing as well that you burn more cal. I have…
