  • Awesome job! Also great job of keeping it off for 2.5 years too!
  • Great job! Congrats!
  • I measure my oats and weight them in a measuring cup...a half cup is supposed to be 40 grams but it can be any where from 38 to about 50. I could be eating 1/4 more per serving without even knowing it (if I weren't weighing that is).
  • If you are not losing weight any more then I suggest going down a list of low thyroid symptoms and if you have any other symptoms besides stubborn weight loss, talk to your doctor about getting it rechecked. A change in diet or an increase in activity level can cause you to need an increased dose. If you are testing in the…
  • Even with a hrm, as I understand, it isn't very accurate and there is a formula to use with the hrm to get the best burn estimate for weight lifting. I do not however, know what the said formula is. A friend gave it to me and I lost it in my inbox...like two years ago.
  • I pretty much agree with Geno. Keep the runs the week after your 1st short and at an easy pace then in the 2nd week go back to the appropriate week on your training schedule if you have one and depending on how you are feeling, maybe keep those at a fairly easy pace too. If your training program has you going really light…
  • Same here. After I could run a full mile, I was a runner for life. If I am not feeling great for some reason but decide to run any way, the first mile is the hardest for me too...I am up to 13.1 miles and have signed up for my first marathon next January.
  • Take 1 1/4 cup of almond milk (I use the unsweetened original) and 1/2 cup of old fashioned rolled oats and put them in a pan together. Cook over medium high heat until oats are cooked. Remove from heat and add 1 to 2 tbs of brown sugar, 2 tbs cocoa powder, 1 to 2 tbs pb2 and a little vanilla. Mix well. Makes two servings…
  • Personally, I would let her know that you don't think it is necessary but that you are willing to support her. Then support her as best you can. I am willing to bet that (unless she has actual medical reasons for this) she won't last more than a month or two. That way you don't look like an unsupportive jerk and there for…
  • I actually do love running and martial arts...even in the middle of it. Hill climbs and intervals, I like after the fact but not as much during. Really though, when I am out on a long run, that is my "me time" where nobody is bothering me or needing anything. My mind can wander where it will. I'm tired at the end and my…
  • For some things you just have to make it a habit, do something you like most of the time and then just get the strength work done one or two days a week no matter what. You can make deals with yourself like if you don't miss a strength day all month you get to buy something you've been wanting or whatever. My other…
  • As so many have said, potassium, water and electrolytes are best for preventing them but if you get one the best thing to do is to actually try to flex or tighten the muscle even more for a second and then relax it. Just trying to relax it doesn't work nearly as good if you don't try to tighten it even more first. It's…
  • I think it's fine as long as you plan to stay active on a high level after you reach your GW. If you hit your goal weight, keep eating the same amount but pretty much stop exercising...well that's how a lot of former athletes gain a lot of weight. They eat the same after the stop the workouts.
  • Unless you are insanely over all the time you are probably fine. If you notice any unpleasant side affects (constipation for one), cut back a little. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
  • So you have 3 full workout days and 1 active rest day and 3 rest days. You aren't going too much. Actually, the recommended amount of exercise for adults is (according to the CDC) AT LEAST 250 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise a week PLUS 2 days of full body muscle strengthening activities OR 115 minutes of…
  • It's super normal for your legs to feel very rubbery right after and the day of doing squats and can be very sore the next day or two and then start to feel better. As someone else said, this is DOMS. On the other hand, if you felt a sharp pain at some point while doing them or right after and it's hard to even put weight…
  • Easter baskets with the kids, church, egg hunt at the in-laws, family Easter dinner and then possibly a bonfire at a friend's house.
  • To each their own. My husband has one but if it gets all scraggly he need not expect a lot of closeness. It gives me the heeby geebies
  • How tall are you and how much are you trying to lose? Also, for the time being you can do a lot with body weight workouts. You can find HIIT workouts for all different levels on youtube and you can lift things that are heavy that aren't dumbbells or barbells. Get creative. :)
  • Way to go and good for you for embracing the "imperfections" that many women would give anything to have!
  • Maybe a few nice walks or easy short jogs but I wouldn't run until I get new shoes if they hurt your feet that bad!
  • I love this! It might only make some moms angry but it could get her to think at least. I agree on the mini fridge and also I would get some brown paper bags and put anything you have prepped and are planning on eating for a meal in it with your name on it, date and meal (like 04/16/14 lunch) and then A) it is less visible…
  • She probably needs to have the waist of her pants taken in a hair or else they are all together too small. I have had the same issue in the past because my quads were "athletic" and at the time all pants ran narrow through the legs so if I could get them over my thighs, they were too big in the waist...I wish I had…
  • I used to walk while eating my breakfast all the time...it wasn't to help digestion or slow down absorption or anything like that. I was simply multitasking and I experienced no adverse side affects.
  • Warm fluids can also stimulate digestion for some people which leads to a quick trip to the restroom, if that is the kind of upset stomach you had.
  • I have a friend (Dvdbeastmode) that is hitting 1190 tomorrow I think. Still less than snookeroo I guess but hugely impressive none the less!
  • Do a little research and see if you can find out what the cause of the problem might be. You may just need to order a pair of insoles online or something easy to fix. For me, I have high arches and running shoes don't generally have as much arch support as I need but regular arch supports that you get at the store are too…
  • That might take some work to figure out but where there's a will, there's a way!
