Never too late. Set reasonable goals, keep a food record, and exercise. I'm 62 and recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes as a result of pancreatitus. Takes discipline.

I was diagnosed at the end of May with diabetes. My glucose level was 279. With exercise, diet and medication, I'm averaging within the 120's overall. My A1C is 8.9 but its still early and I think that I can improve this. Bottom line, watch the diet, exercise and take your meds. This will require some life style changes,…

Health reasons. Had high blood glucose readings back in May due to long-term complications from acute pancreatitus. Started exercising, lost two inches off my waist and about six pounds. Glucose levels are averaging around 120 now. Hoping this will help me avoid insulin injections. Good luck with your efforts.

1. Get a high-quality, accurate scale. I just discovered that my 20-year old bathroom scale was off by more than 15 pounds. Stupid of me not to realize it, but I've lost "inches" and pounds, just not the number of pounds I'd thought I'd lost. 2. A pair of quality cross-training shoes. I've got new Balance because that's…

My last blood glucose level at noon today was 94. Watching the carbs, taking the meds, exercising, dropping some weight have all helped. I'll go in Tuesday for blood tests to see what my levels are. Best course of action is to follow the directions of your doctor. Fortunately, I have less than ten pounds to drop. The wild…

Because I've been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I want to avoid taking insulin, therefore its important to lower my blood glucose levels. I suffered a severe attack of pancreatitus four years ago, lost 25% of my pancreas, and the pancreatic ducts are scarred and thus secret insufficient insulin. I believe that I can…
