I cut back on processed sugar and desert all together. I still eat sweets as a social thing but keep them in moderation. To curb my sweet tooth I eat a lot of fruit and coffee. I know fruit has a lot of sugar but for me it is that or things like cheesecake and ice cream. I feel fuller, less likely to overeat my calories…

For 600 calories, I would probably order 2 soft corn tortilla chicken tacos with lettuce and tomato (200 calories each?) and a side of beans (3/4 cup is about 200).

It sure FEELS like I burned 500 calories when I run 6 miles, lol

Every activity burns calories. It just depends how you are counting. I would rather set mine to lightly active and then not count all the little calories throughout the day. But if it works better for you, you can always set yours to sedentary and then count everything. I think it really does about the same thing... it is…

I plateau all the time for various reasons. My weight will be stagnant and then all of a sudden I will lose 2 lbs one morning. Is it possible you are more hydrated than normal? Do you eat a lot of salt before you weigh in? Are you sure you are at a calorie deficit?

Some of the things I don't count include a leaf of lettuce for a burger (I count it if I make a salad), a stick of gum and herbs for cooking. On the flip side, I also don't count cleaning my house, yard work, hiking, swimming or weight training as burning extra calories.

I would consult with a physician. Excess protein can be hard on your kidneys

I use pinterest for healthy food pics :) They have some fantastic looking stuff I have been meaning to try. They have all sorts of frozen yogurt deserts and different ways to prepare fruit.

When I am being on my good diet (everyone has their own version of what they consider good), I eat mainly fruit, vegetables, whole grains and protein. I make sure I eat lots of vegetables... they are lower in calories and are filling. Vegetable stir fry with cashews (high in calories so I try not to add too many) and…

When I struggle with losing, I focus at least on maintaining what I have already lost. If I was in your shoes, I would just focus on keeping it at maintenance for the day. I would advise buying back 300-500 calories hiking, swimming or hitting the gym. 500-700 calories for the rest of the day doesn't sound nearly as bad. I…

Oh my... I almost forgot I saw a recipe for grilled peaches stuffed with ricotta cheese... now that sounds good to me. I am on pinterest, lol

I just started lifting weights about 6 months ago and completed my first 5k (5.5mph on the treadmill) last week so I feel I can relate. When I run, my speed and endurance is way better when I am not sore from other exercise. The more I do weight training, the easier it is to run. I do something like this: W) Core and…

My goal is to lose 2 lbs a week for the next 3 weeks. I am pushing really hard to start the New Year feeling great and ready for finishing touches/toning.

I would never go on a dry fast because I think water is so important to the human body. I sometimes just drink water/tea for a day when I feel I have been over indulging. I feel way better the next day

CW (weighed in Sunday)137 lbs GW for Wednesday 12/24 132 lbs It comes out to I am trying to lose 5 lbs in 2.5 weeks. My next weigh in is tomorrow and I should be at 136 (crossing my fingers). I am fasting two days a week although I wait until a day feels right to fast. It seems overwhelming to know that I cant eat one day but if I wait until a day that I don't seem very hungry it is much easier. I have made a conscious effort to drink 2L of water a day. I feel like I am always drinking but it sure keeps my…

Lots of people say just writing what you eat down, even if you aren't counting calories, keeps you more accountable because you feel bad if you ate 2 cheesburgers, a jumbo fry and a extra large milk shake.

Every time a co-worker complains of a stomach ache we always ask if they are pregnant. It is a long running joke

FYI, I did mention the fiber thing in the post immediately above this one

What fruit and veggies have more nutrients after being cooked? I have always heard the more you cook a fruit or vegetable the less nutrients it has.

People advocate that juicing is great because they would never eat that much raw fruit and veggies with out it
