Have been sooo lazy with checking in this past week--it was a crazy one! Hoping things will settle down soon! Got on the scale this morning to discover that I am down to 209.4 pounds--I can't believe how close I am to ONEderland!!! :) I thought for sure last week was a wash since my hubby persuaded me to have chicken…

Happy Friday everyone! :) So sorry to hear about your rough night last night, Svesmenja. I bet today will be loads better--sending good energy your way! Congrats Rebecca! You're doing great! :) Good luck on your race, Nikki--let us know how it goes! Off to the medical supply store for a few things I need, then it's right…

Enjoying a lazy morning/early afternoon today. Nothing on the agenda except a few episodes of Supernatural and a date with a box of hair coloring :) Then it's off to class tonight. Think I should do just a bit more studying (have an exam tomorrow) but I feel pretty good about the material. My bum is killing me! Yesterday…

Woo hoo! Today has been a great day so far (it's only 3:30 out here). Got up early, did 30 Day Shred, then jumped in the shower and it was off to class. Got a lot done in class today and I feel like my food intake is good so far. Now just sitting down to a late lunch, going to do a bit of studying, and then the hubs and I…

Today I will stay on track because today was the first day I could comfortably wear the jeans that have been too small for me for the last two years! I love this feeling, and I want many more days like this one! :)

I have been bad about checking in these last couple of days! Sorry all! It's been a bit crazy here. Been tracking all my calories, though, so not a total fail! Today I am wearing a pair of jeans that have not fit me in over 2 years...and they are SO comfy! There's even plenty of extra room in the thighs and a bit of wiggle…

Dwya, congratulations! That's wonderful! :) I definitely get the mix of emotions--it will settle down after your honey gets into the groove of things (maybe a month or two). How exciting for you both! Glad it's the weekend. Definitely ready to relax a bit! Going to make my husband a guinea pig--I am terrible at taking…

Aloha all! Don't know what on earth was up with me last night. I just could not stay asleep. I woke up every hour on the hour all night long, and tossed and turned like crazy. Feeling kind of light-headed and fuzzy right now :( Plus I've got an exam today! Not a good combination. Oh dear. Will be happy when today is over!

Aloha all! It's just before 9AM out here in sunny Honolulu. Got up at 630 to go for a swim at the beach again--was such a lovely way to start the day! Have had a shower and am now enjoying breakfast! Swimming really works up an appetite! Yesterday I worked on my chest, back, shoulder and arms so today will be focused on…

It's 11AM out here in sunny Hawaii. Got a bit caught up in chores and errands before checking in! I really dread working out when it's my TOM, but I gotta get it done...ugh. So I'm off to watch some Buffy on the treadmill and then do a couple of strength training videos afterwards. Have a study group this evening that will…

September 17th: I am so proud of myself! In the last four weeks, I've lost six pounds, 1 inch from each thigh, 2 inches from my waist and 3 inches from my hips! I have been getting a minimum of 45 minutes of exercise every day, whether it is walking while watching Buffy or getting up at the crack of dawn to go for a swim.…

I started at 226.8 (although I'm 5'5.5") and I've kept my calories between 1400 and 1600 every day since July 11th, and as of yesterday, I've lost 10 pounds :) It's been easy to sustain because I feel like I'm getting enough food. When I tried to stick to just 1200, I was hungry, crabby and irritable the entire day, and I…

Yes, I have a treat every day. Maybe someday I'll be able to cut back, but for right now, I enjoy it too much. At the end of every day, I indulge in a satisfying chunk of dark chocolate. When I tried to eliminate daily treats from my diet completely, I ended up failing and went on a huge binge at about day 29, so I've…

Soda Starbucks (although I make my own coffee at home) Potato chips I still eat everything else I like, just with moderation :) I don't drink soda or eat chips anymore because they make me crazy and I can't seem to stop at just one can (or one bag!). I cut out the Starbucks because although I enjoy grabbing a delicious yet…

I think it's important to know what's realistic for your own body/genetics. I'll never have a body like Miranda Kerr's because I'm just not built that way. Even at my thinnest, I was never any smaller than a size 6, my thighs still touched, my fingers were still fat and stubby, and I had wide upper arms. I'll never have…

I'm at 1500--I tried to do 1200 for a week, but I was so crabby and irritable that there was just no way I'd be able to sustain it long-term. 1500 is enough so that I feel like I can actually eat real food and have enough to not feel like I'm starving all day long.

Fish Liver Shellfish Pork (bacon is the one exception) Blood sausage/blood pudding/blood anything Sausage Lengua, tripe, menudo--anything "unorthodox" like brain/bladder/stomach/etc. Onions Sushi Seaweed Scallops ...there are a LOT of foods I can't/won't eat. I've got some food issues, LOL.

Pizza, fries, Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate brownies and soda. :(

All of the above.

I kept a pair of size 16 jeans that I used to love to wear (that are now far too snug for me). I started at a 22, and right now, my size 18 jeans are fitting comfortably. I wiggle into those size 16s to check how much closer I am to fitting into them, and it helps :)

The progress is really motivating! I make before/after pictures every week, comparing my Day 1 photo to my most current, and after only 3 weeks, I can see a significant difference! Also, I have a pair of jeans in my closet that I want to wear. I loved them and wore them 24/7 when I was a bit thinner...but I haven't been…

Definitely. I have to. It's too easy to let myself fall off the wagon and drop my accountability if I go two days without logging what I'm eating, and I'm more likely to overeat. Plus, being able to plan out my meals on MFP over the weekend helps me deal with guilt vs desire. If my husband wants to go to Wendy's, we can go…

Keeping trigger foods out of the house has been really helpful, as has writing down what I'm feeling when I feel like I want to binge. Also, I keep a photo with a great quote on my computer desktop, on the pantry door and on the refrigerator door--"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you think you want right now."…

I'm on Oahu :) And I totally feel you about all the issues...we're moving next summer and we can't wait to say goodbye to Hawaii. Don't think we'll ever be back.
-
I'm no expert, but I think it really doesn't matter much in the scheme of things. As long as you get in the workout and get your blood moving, you're good :) I usually work out in the evenings just because I find my energy levels are higher then. I don't have much energy in the mornings or afternoons, but once it hits 4PM,…

Chocolate Enchiladas Peanut butter ...also pizza.

Nope. I was heavy when he proposed and heavy when we got married, and as I'm working on my health and fitness, he keeps reminding me, "Now don't get TOO thin!" LOL. I think he likes a curvier body type (which is fine, I'll never be model-thin). He is supportive of me doing this, though, because he knows how much it means…

I'm still very much over my target weight, but I've been leaning out and trimming up thanks to exercise, and the angry red stretch marks that used to cover my stomach, sides and thighs have faded to very very pale white. They're still raised, so if you touch them, you can easily feel them, but they are well on their way to…
