I love this thread. It's so important to be reminded how many wonderful, generous people there still are in the world. I hope we are all inspired to keep paying it forward! :)

One year my sister had a new baby and was very behind on her bills. I stole a bunch of her bills without her knowing and paid them all up to date. To this day she doesn't know who did it. Another year at Christmas I spent dollar for dollar as much on gifts for charity as I did on the gifts for my family and friends.

too too many to count. Here are a few that rank among the top: 1. Having a guy pinch my back fat and say, "what happened??" 2. Having someone say (after we had fooled around) that they could never date a fat person. 3. Being told that no one would ever love me. The third one was the worst because it played on my own fear.…

Yayyy!! That's awesome! Keep it up! :)

What I don't understand is how he didn't know she had plastic surgery. I mean I get that she didn't tell him, but you mean he never once asked to see pictures from the past, family photo albums, childhood pics etc? Even her family never showed them to him or mentioned the plastic surgery?

That's a good point. Babies are usually not at their cutest right out of the womb, it takes a few weeks (or years). lol. Regardless, you should absolutely adore your child no matter what they look like. Suing over what you kid looks like is just so sad. This poor baby will undoubtedly find out about this later in life and…

I know plenty of Chinese people. My family is Chinese although I am genetically white. None of my friends or family would ever ever do something like that so it's not all about the culture. That is an incredibly stereotypical statement. What happened in that case is a case of extremes just like can happen anywhere.

I'm grinning ear to ear for you

Honestly, it would make me want to know a little more about their background, for example were they once bigger than they are now and have improved dramatically? But that being said, I would find it MUCH easier to relate to relate to a chubby trainer/nutritionist than someone who looks like they've never struggled a day in…

To be fair, when I was younger, I truly did feel old. It was difficult to mentally wrap my mind around the fact that I was leaving childhood behind. As a result, I'm sure I uttered the "I'm so old" comment in front of people older than me on a few occasions.

You look great! Congrats!!!

woohoo!! such a great feeling, isn't it? congrats!

I wore mine to work for a day! I wore a long sleeve fleece so that it wasn't overly noticeable. I work a pretty sedentary job so I wanted to get an idea of what my base rate of caloric burn is on inactive days. I found it to be a worthwhile experiment!

I like ectos. I suppose that is partly because I'm only 4'10" and bigger guys scare me. lol

Is it BMI or does it show the percentage of fat and percentage of water? My scales shows the percentages, but I don't really think it's very accurate because they fluctuate quite a bit from day to day. A little fluctuation would be expected, but I don't think my fat percentage can change by that much on any given day,…

babies. babies make me cry. but I guess that's just because I want one so bad and fear I'll never have one. so I guess that falls under the typical sadness, but other sad things don't make me cry.

You really need to track everyday. At least for 90 days. Human beings are notorious for underestimating how many calories they eat and overestimating how much they exercise. This is true even with tracking, but is almost unavoidable without tracking. If you very consistently track, you will see results.

I'm 33 and childless. My switch has been on since my early 20s. Over the last few years it's gone from being on to flashing incessantly and emitting a deafening alarm that keeps me up at night. I fear I will never satisfy that switch and that I'll never willingly turn it off.

Another tip for clearing up your skin is to make sure to sleep on a clean pillow case (or put a fresh towel over it) every single night. Oils rub off from your skin onto your bedding so even if you wash your face, if you lay on the same pillow case as the night before, the oil and dirt gets right back on your face. Use a…

There's a reason that calculating points has gotten more difficult. They want to have a proprietary system so that you feel like they have a secret you need to pay for. If they just counted calories you wouldn't need to pay for it. The truth is that using MFP gives you everything that WW does and all for free.

omg, best food diary out there! Yep hitting your macros is all it's about :D

Ahh, you got me there. See my opinion is worth even less than I thought. :ohwell:

I don't understand the point of doing a just plain mean, inconsiderate post. The other thread is someone saying I'm struggling, please give me some kind of hope that I can do this. Yes, they have to want it for themselves. Yes they have to do the work. But it's seriously hard work and there are days that we all feel like…

Yayy!! Congrats to you!!! I have that horrid apron myself. I hope I'm able to lose mine too. So happy for you!

Thanks. Yeah, I know what you mean, some people just won't talk about it....and in all reality, that's better than the people who so FREELY talked about how fat I was/am. lol
