  • LIIFT4 is 4 days/week. It includes strength training, HIIT and core in every workout. Or, you could choose another program that is designed to be used 5 or 6 days/week but only do those workouts 3 or 4 days and your own activities on other days. Yes, the trainers and others focus on completing the programs as designed, but…
  • I drain off the fat but don't rinse it. I doubt that it would make that much of a difference anyway. You could measure and weigh the amount of fat drained off and estimate the number of calories remaining.
  • http://www.pc.gc.ca/en/pn-np/ns/cbreton/visit/cartes-maps Link to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The Park Map includes all the trails and rates them by distance and difficulty.
  • Superstore and Sobeys here (P.E.I.) offer 10% off to students on Tuesdays. You could see if the grocery stores in your area offer anything similar. You will need to show your student ID.
  • Not new, but I really like Chapman's Canadian Collection ice cream bars. There are several different flavours.
  • My suggestions: Get off the track, if you can, and run around your neighbourhood. The change of scenery may help distract you from the effort of running. Listen to music or podcasts - it can also help distract you. You may not need or want it after you get used to running, but it sure is nice to have in the beginning. Slow…
  • I developed adhesive encapsulitis, or frozen shoulder, without recalling how I hurt it. It started out with A LOT of pain if I moved my arm in certain directions. The pain gradually went away but the shoulder became more and more stiff. My ROM became quite limited in that joint. I went to physio for several weeks with only…
  • Wow! My boys have PE three days a week, and are outside twice every day (10 min recess, 20 mins before lunch). Now that it is cross-country season my younger son runs during his break before they go inside for lunch. Good for you (and your daughter) for deciding to get active. I don't see any problem with kids doing…
  • We eat dinner fairly early, so I try to save some calories to have a planned snack. Are you eating enough at dinnertime? I tend to graze if I'm bored, even watching tv, so I will do things that keep my hands and mind busy, like sudoku puzzles, or jigsaw puzzles. Some people like to knit or crochet to keep their hands busy.
  • Yep. I would like to lose about 10 pounds. I have a history of high blood pressure and keeping my weight under control and staying active really helps keep my BP in check. Also, since my weight has creeped up my clothes don't fit nearly as well and I can't afford to buy new ones.
  • I'm 44, new here and could use more friends for support. Feel free to add me. :)
  • Try any yogurt with live cultures, that's what works for me. I have a 1/2 cup once a day, and it's a treat too. :) My MIL swears by nuts. She eats a couple of tablespoons worth everyday. I know cashews work for some. I saw that you don't drink coffee. A cup of hot tea in the morning after breakfast might help too. Don't…
