  • I'm more the cheerleader type, so here goes... *clears throat* RAH, RAH, SIS BOOM BAH! YOU CAN DO IT, WOOOOOO!!! TOUCH DOWN! LOBO TEAM! DOWN THE FIELD, LETS GO, BIG GREEN! Okay, maybe that last one wasn't applicable, but it's one of the only cheers I can remember from the ol' days.. lol.. Feel better, you can do it! You're…
  • :blushing: :blushing: yeah, I had kind of a bad last couple days... we went out for a birthday and my resolve wavered... okay, I caved. I had a big plate of mexican food that was loaded with cheese and fried stuff -- all the stuff I'm SUPPOSED to be avoiding right now!! Well, today's a new day!
  • maybe try eating a handful of nuts? Also wanted to say bravo on the willpower - it is SO hard not to eat that stuff when I'm around it - people are always bringing sugary treats to the office - donuts, cakes, PIES, and I always have a hard time saying no. Good on you!
  • Thanks for the responses! I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I've taken some time over the last couple hours to regroup and do some research. The things that I do know are that my famiily has a history of high cholesterol/high blood pressure. Both of my paternal grandparents died from heart disease, and my dad is on…
  • I'm glad I could help :) Enjoying to exercise is definitely a positive, and if you don't meet any of those criteria, I wouldn't worry too much about it - just keep on keeping on and maybe try to coax some of the naysayers to go on a run!
  • If its something that's causing you anxiety, or you feel that you have to do it out of compulsion, I might consider talking to someone about it. It can turn into a very serious disorder called anorexia athletica (or obligatory exercise). Here's a description - if you find yourself identifying with any of these, I urge you…
  • I confess that I only did 6 minutes of the 'dance party workout' vid I netflix'd because I STINK at dancing! I confess that I thought yoga was easy-peasy breathing and stretching until I tried it. I confess that I've eaten dinner, and am already eyeing the fridge. sigh.
  • Well, yesterday I went a little over on my calories, but I did do a yoga video (courtesy of Netflix - yay!), so I'm making progress. My muscles are paying the price today -- yoga is no joke! I'm glad no one was around to see my downward dog..
  • Thanks so much, That's a great story, put a smile on my face :)
  • I know relatively 7 months is not a long time, but I was previously diagnosed with infertility, and have been dealing with issues with my hormones for 3 years so we're at the specialist stage already. I'm hoping weight loss will jump start things.
  • Thanks for the welcome!! First official weigh-in: Week 1: 172.4 lbs First day of healthy eating .. it's amazing how many calories are in things you thought were low cal...:grumble:
  • Do you all mind if I join in? :blushing:
  • Grilled Chicken breast... haven't gotten any further than that yet!
  • Well, I know that being a healthy body weight certainly helps with the conception process (from what the doctors have told me), so I don't see why not! I'm willing to try just about anything at this point. In retrospect, I should have started our journey this way, because I want to be as healthy as possible should we…
  • Thank you so much for your response... I am so sorry for the difficulty you had trying to conceive. I can't imagine what you went through - it puts things into perspective, as I had begun to get really frustrated with trying. 7 months isn't very long in the grand scheme of things, and its easy to get impatient. I had a…
