My overall goal is to lose weight and build more muscle. I have heard that you can lift weights and then after a month incorporate cardio. The cardiograph I would do would be hiit. Or would it be better to do both but obviously lifting first.

You sound just like me. I work full time and I also have four children ages 12, 6, 4, and 9 months. Life is great but NUTS! I sometimes struggle with maintaining my workouts, I even have a schedule and I have been sticking with it for the past two weeks and this week I have started to struggle this week.
