  • their sweet chili sauce--i use it to make a stir-fry with chicken and vegetables. it's fantastic!
  • Getting strong enough to do a pull-up is one of my goals for this year. I found this article on Pullups for Total Beginners and I think this is the method I will use to get there: http://scoobysworkshop.com/pullups-for-total-beginners/
  • For a sauce recommendation: Trader Joe's sweet chili sauce. It's got the whole sweet & spicy thing going on, and it's DELICIOUS. I love to do a stir-fry with that sauce, chicken, broccoli, bell peppers, onion, carrots & edamame served over quinoa. Yum! For spices: I use original Mrs Dash in a lot of my cooking--but there…
  • One week into Power 90. Yesterday was my rest day. Today should be cardio, But it's looking a lot more like rest day #2 ????
  • Old Navy compression (capris or full-length, depending on weather) are my favorites. i wish i didn't love them so much because i truly despise shopping there, but i can't help it. Damn you, store that i hate, for making pants that i love! *rage fist*
  • the 100 rep squat challenge (saw they posted a second version of this--haven't checked that out yet), and the upper body strength workout with cardio intervals. i seriously just pulled up the bodyweight cardio calorie blaster video the other night, trying to plan a cardio workout for the following morning--but ended up…
  • WOW! 90 lb deadlift is super impressive! i just peaked ahead at the stage 2 workouts, and they look pretty scary at this point. i'm a bit sore from yesterday's workout, but looking forward to trying my first 1B workout tomorrow. i'll just try and do my best with stage 1 before i go worrying about stage 2!

  • hi everyone--my name is Amanda and i just did my very first NROL4W workout this morning! i'm usually a cardio nut--i really enjoy running 5k races--but i've been trying to incorporate some strength training into my routine. i always stayed on the cardio side of the gym until this week, too nervous to even explore the…

  • This is ingenious. An innovative way to incorporate more activity into an otherwise sedentary job. Bravo, sir!
  • my recommendation would be to watch your pace, especially in the beginning of your race. i just ran my first 10k about three weeks ago. ran the first mile and half chatting with a friend who signed up for the race with me. he's much faster than i am, but i figured since we were talking we weren't going that fast. i was…
  • i will try this--thanks for the tip! :flowerforyou:
  • i'm 5'3" and MFP calculated my calorie goal at 1,460 to lose .5 lb per week. however, i used the calculator at scoobysworkshop.com and they say that my TDEE minus 20% would be 1,793 calories per day. i am nervous about increasing my calorie intake so drastically, but i've been stuck for weeks and got nothing left to…
  • i tell people all the time that being persistent and being consistent definitely pays off. you are absolutely living proof of that--congrats!!
  • fitnessblender.com--tons of free workout videos, various categories & difficulty levels. this is my favorite kettlebell workout: http://www.fitnessblender.com/v/workout-detail/Beginner-Kettlebell-Workout-Kells-Kettlebells-Routine/a7/ but definitely check out their website--they have lots of workouts to choose from, all for…
  • i just hit my 50 lbs lost mark TODAY! i started at 201 in mid-july, so it has taken me ten months. but i've taken some time off from weight loss mode here and there--like the week of christmas and pretty much the whole month of april (was nursing an injury and also trying to complete many papers and such as i was finishing…
  • i LOVE runkeeper! and i had no idea you could edit the wavering on the maps, so i will need to check this option out on my next run. thanks for the tip!
  • last salad i made was a spinach salad with onion, orange bell pepper, roasted sunflower kernels (i prefer unsalted), and dried cranberries. added 2 tbsp shredded cheddar cheese and catalina dressing. yum!
  • i like the slogan on my ticker. i am not a fast runner but am proud of the fact that i get out there and do what i can, so this saying kind of summed that up for me.
  • i've been really, really into Apocalyptica. i've created Apocalyptica stations on pandora and iheartradio and have since been turned on to some other bands i never would've heard otherwise like Within Temptation, Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Epica, Stratovarius, Iced Earth, Fates Warning. check some of them out!
  • russell stover strawberry cream egg! it's my favorite easter candy, and i'm so sad i'll have to wait until next year to have another one :brokenheart:
  • woo hoo!! cheers to you, sir :drinker: way to go on your accomplishment. keep up the great work!
  • i personally wouldn't recommend runtastic. i tried it for awhile & didn't find it very useful. now i use runkeeper, and i think it's totally awesome. and while i don't have any personal experience with endomondo myself, i've heard good things about that one. unfortunately i can't use it because i have an ipod touch & the…
  • excellent progress, sir! keep up the great work! :drinker:
  • my first 5k was on 9/8/2012, ran it in 39:27. my subsequent race times have been as follows: 10/13/2012 run in 39:03 10/27/2012 run in 39:58 (was ill the day before & not used to the hilly course) 11/24/2012 run in 36:12 1/1/2013 run in 37:17 2/9/2013 run in 34:39 <-- new PR! i try really hard to run a 5k race…
  • omg, i am DYING laughing at this! I can't compete with this, so i won't even try. but here's one mile from me! :flowerforyou:
  • i also do not stretch before my runs. i do a warm up walk of 5 - 10 mins, then run, then cool down walk of usually 10 mins, followed by stretching. i stretch quads, calves, hamstrings, and also do some knee-strengthening exercises. i really should incorporate some IT band stretches as well, but that is a work in progress.
  • my motivation was primarily my checkbook. i wanted to start exercising regularly, but did not want to fork out $30 or more per month to join a gym. heard about couch-to-5k and decided to invest in some good running shoes & give it a shot. i stopped the first time thru around week 3 or 4. picked it up again a few months…

  • THIS!! i usually buy the cheese made with 2% milk, and be sure to measure out a reasonable portion. for example, tonight's dinner was a bowl of homemade chili, topped with exactly 2 tablespoons of the 2% milk shredded cheese (40 cals) and 1 tablespoon of reduced fat sour cream (23 cals). TOTALLY worth it to me. long live…
