It’s Ok to feel this way. It’s about you, not about a diet. Try to soooothe yourself instead of thinking food/binge. Think of the best things that have ever happened to you. Think about them just as though you going through it now. You could even close your eyes. Think of your stomach ...... is it growling? Feed it. If it…

Been working w/nutritionist and reading , "Intuitive Eating" book. One of the principles: Think about how your body works for you while you exercise. Don't think of it as 'exercise' rather use the word, "movement & moving". Music therapists say, "Listen to the music of the environment around you as you move. Allow this to…

You need a psychiatrist. Psychiatrist are the Dr. that prescribe the meds. Have had depression and PTSS for many yrs, meds are a vital part of your healing. Meds, psychiatrist, therapist, massage, exercise, healthy diet and famiy/friends support are your team! Keep me posted.

App suggests once a week. My eating disorder therapist says it isn't about the scale, it's about our relationship with food. I've read articles that suggest just taking measurements once a month and photo. Best advice, don't get addicted to scale.

I'm with you! Let's do it together. Someone once told me about losing weight - never give up - it a process. It's like a roller coaster, we feel up, then we feel down AND through it all, WE STAY ON THE RIDE. We learn from mistakes, from Eating Disorder therapists, from nutritionists and from others like us. My best wishes…

Thx, Holly. Learned a lot. My exercising has been way-laid by spraining ligaments in both ankles. Also I get boils between my thighs. Have any tried and true info on the boils issue?

A huge CONGRATS TO YOU!!!! Thx for sharing!

Love all the replies, true and very helpful. Another tip I've learned: The Gut Buster/Calming breath. Not only will it help your gut, but it is a 'calming - stress reduction' breathing technique. Take in breath through your nose, breathing it into your gut to the count of 9 (your gut should look like a round balloon). Next…

According to my Eating Disorder therapist and nutritionist it's all about equal parts mindful eating (eating when hungry stopping when satisfied and learning the difference) and working to get in all your nutrition for the day. Junk food/dessert is all a part of this.

Thx so much, Holly! Especially love the "use it as filling instead of cream cheese/mayo/butter, etc. Love hummus, now just need to purchase and begin to use.

Congrats on all you've done thus far!!!!! You are important!!!! Think - figure out exactly how long it took you to put on that weight. = that AND more is how long it'll take you to lose that same weight. Patience, time and nature cures all troubles. AND the MOST important thing we can do for ourselves is respect our…

Thx so much,Holly! My Eating Disorder Therapist discussed this with me a couple months ago. She suggested I use "Behavior Chain" intake form for myself. Have used it several times. Very beginning discusses exactly what you said, "What was going on in environment and in my mind" that it occurred. I want to remember to use…

Hey MirandaC, You can be proud of yourself! You are very important! You are thinking of MirandaC and that's what's most important. I've been on a similar journey ever since my teens. Fitness Pal has been terrific for me as far as seeing everything I eat and how many calories and nutrients, sugars and fats I take in. Very…

Terrific words! Even though I gained over vacation, sometimes I actually listened to my stomach, tasted my food and said no to my eating disorder.
