  • Hey all! OK so I only ended up actually wearing both for just a few days because I ultimately decided I liked the UP24 better and took off the shine. Numbers comparison: Day 1: UP24 calories burned total:1924 Shine calories burned total: 2045 UP24 distance: 2.86 miles / 5825 steps Shine distance: 2.1 miles / 5644 steps…
  • Sorry for the delay! I'll post an update tonight!
  • I've never used My Tracks but does it take into account elevation/terrain? I know that the MapMyFitness apps account for climb, and going uphill a lot obviously burns extra calories. if My Tracks doesn't take that into account, that might explain some of the difference?
  • Thanks everyone for the advice!
  • I hadn't really thought of that actually. I guess my first goal would be to finish but I'd also love to finish in an hour or close to it. Right now I run about a 10 minute mile so I imagine I'd want to work on speed a bit while "training"
  • Thank you all so much for your suggestions! Just knowing that I have options has re-motivated me to stop complaining about not being able to do Insanity and get back to working out! I'll be getting a few dvds now and a few others when I go home to my parents' since I know they have hand weights I can use. Thanks again!!
  • I did No More Trouble Zones once or twice but couldn't remember if there was a lot of cardio or not. Do you think I could manage it?
  • I can do squats and lunges and all that, just not anything that requires me to flex my feet, like running or jumping. I took a Pilates class once and found that I found ways to cheat and didn't really get anything out of it. But, that was a long time ago, so maybe I will give that another shot
  • I don't have an HRM so I'm kind of guessing and hoping it's about right. I've been using Circuit Training for Plyo and Power Cardio & Resistance, High Impact Aerobics for Pure Cardio, and Low Impact Aerobics for recovery days. I also put in fewer minutes than the length of the DVD to factor in rest times and stretching; so…
  • Thank you all so much for the support! It really helped motivate my to work hard last night and this morning.
  • Rye bread, tons of butter, swiss cheese, american cheese, crispy bacon. and a pickle on the side! now I'm very hungry!
  • Pure cardio is my favorite cause you only do each exercise once!! I would rank from worst to easiest: 1. Plyo 2. Power Cardio & Resistance 3. Pure cardio.
  • I'm in a small college dorm room and I make it work, it's definitely doable with maybe some small modifications, on things like suicides. Most stuff you do is in place, though, so you should be just fine.

  • Hi everyone! I'm Jade. I'm 22 years old and I'm from New York. I'm on day 9 of Insanity and I'm loving the structure and the varying workouts. Not loving Power Jumps or V-pushups (which I currently don't have the upper body strength for but hopefully will some day!) I'm glad I found this group because I can always use more…
  • That's why I have bad posture! Being tall is so awkward!!
  • Week One Done! Woohoo!!

  • I just finished it! It's definitely tough but there are no breaks and you never do an exercise more than once (besides the warmup) so it goes pretty quickly! Good luck!!

  • I did it! I don't have pictures or remember my measurements (it was like 2 years ago), but I ended up with really good abs and arms, and my lower body also got pretty toned too. I would say it's absolutely worth it, especially cause it's only half an hour a day so it's easy to stick to.
  • haha yeah it was pretty serious. Those squats and lunges are no joke! I definitely couldn't hold them as long as I was supposed to, and the stretching was tough too. But I liked that it was slower and a little more relaxing, even if my legs did feel like jello afterwards! Pure Cardio tonight. I'm hoping it's not as awful…
  • I did Cardio Power and Resistance for the first time yesterday and thought it was a little easier and a lot more fun than Plyometrics. I can tell already that Plyo days are going to be my least favorite by far. I'm so excited for Cardio Recovery tonight, my body could use a little break!
  • I'm doing day four tonight. How is everyone else doing?

  • I'll be doing day 4 tonight. It's SO tough, and my body hurts everywhere, but that's how I know it's working! Feel free to add me as a friend!
  • I don't have kids so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I think it's fine to teach your kids how to read labels and understand what they're putting in their bodies. It helps them make healthy choices. But, I also think it's important to balance that with making your children aware that counting calories is not the most…
  • It was TOUGH! I didn't expect the fit test to be so hard. I'm pretty sore today, and very much looking forward to Day 2 tonight!

  • Holy cow that fit test was hard!! So excited to cross day 1 off!
  • Just did the fit test. That was HARD!!! Has anyone else started?
  • I'll be starting Monday also!
  • I guess I'm being unclear, and I guess that's because I'm unclear! haha. I think what I mean is that I want to lose fat, not that I want to build muscle in the sense that I want to "bulk up," I definitely don't want to do that. I guess what I'm hoping will happen with Insanity is that I'll end up with some muscle…
  • I'm worried - I just spoke to a friend who said that she can't do the Insanity workout because her house doesn't have enough space. I didn't even consider this. I live in a dorm room and only have about 2.5-4 feet on each side of me when i stand in the middle of the room. Is there ANY way I'll be able to do this?
  • I'm starting next Monday and I'm excited. How are everyone's results? What's tough about it?
