- Nutrition: March was all over the place. I will meet my calorie goal 90% of the time in April. - Running: I will run 3 times per week totalling at least 20km - Yoga: I hope to bind confidently in Marichyasana B and to find my balance (and courage!) in headstand without a wall.

With an injury to the hip-groin area I'd be very careful with yoga - certainly my practice is all about opening the hips (ashtanga primary series) and that would probably not be a good idea for you. Whichever you chose please make your instructor aware ahead of class so that they can tell you to sit out or modify anything…

Congratulations! I ran my first HM last weekend, at a slow 2:52:08. Well done!
-
Thank you - I needed some extra motivation today!

I tend to log the entire thing. Better safe than sorry.. with some marinades I like to cook the leftovers to eat as sauce anyway.

The best reward I ever get is to sleep in. Those 5am runs take their toll.

That's brilliant - well done!! A 30 min 5K is in the distant dreams for me for now... I'm very slow and steady ... which apparently wins the race? Just not any race I've ever entered ;)

BOOM - You owned that goal! Thanks for the inspiration! (I'm a slowtrotting runner too, aspiring to great speeds in the future)

I do backbends!!! It was on my list of goals for 2013, only managed it for the first time a few weeks ago. Gonna start work on drop backs soon apparently.

vitamins and small amounts of herbs + spices. Salt.

Awesome!! I have to say it was a bit anticlimactic crossing the line (we ran laps around a park so had been close to that line 6 times already) but I'm quite excited now!!
-
You can do it!! Running with a family member is a lovely goal - is he a runner already?

So far my legs are OK though getting up again after untying the shoe-chip at the finish line was painful. Had a good long soak in the tub when I got home (and up the 4 flights of stairs!). I suspect the real test will be getting out of bed tomorrow morning!

I get up the next day and start all over again. Don't dwell on it (unless this is part of a pattern in which case you might want to look at that)

Icedcoffee: I suppose I do exercise a fair bit. I do ashtanga yoga 5-6 days per week and 3-4 runs. I eat back the majority of my exercise calories.

I lost 35 kg and then got stuck for almost a month - now I've lost another 5 kg in the last 2 weeks. Patience is key - personally I would not be too quick to "switch it up" if you still have a considerable amount of weight to lose. I started this in July last year and have had MFP set on a -2 lbs per week setting the…

I secretly want to be a ninja =) It's probably kind of hard to be a ninja if you can't even do a pull-up. Just sayin'.

Have you tried baked oatmeal? http://www.lynnskitchenadventures.com/2011/11/tips-and-facts-for-making-baked-oatmeal.html the consistency is quite different. Personally I really like oatmeal but NOT overnight oats though I know a lot of people love them. My go-to breakfast is 50g oats + 250ml water served with a tablespoon…

It's great that you're reflecting on your past to see why you are where you are today =) For me, yes. I eat better and sleep better with regular exercise. I can usually get through a lot of bad moods with exercise. I almost always exercise after the office and it helps to clear out my day and enable me to relax when I get…

Not sure what you mean by "cooked" but I boil eggs, chill them and refrigerate them for up to a week (usually only 5 days). I peel them when I eat them, not before refrigerating. I eat them cold. I have not had any ill effects from doing this but YMMV.

Coped from the "How much does your diet really cost"-thread. This is for my shop this week, it's fairly typical though usually I'd buy less sweet snacks. It will last me a bit over a week so total cost for 1 week is around £35. I don't buy coffee/lunches/take-aways on a regular basis so this accounts for all food on…

People probably do notice but are to courteus to comment. I've had a lot of comments lately, I had a few when I lost about 30kg and lots more when I came back to work after a 2.5 week holiday and had lost a little more. People who see you every day don't get the "wow" factor until a bit later I'm afraid. Depending on how…

Not sure I have mush advice but didn't want to read and run =) Cudos to you for waiting a good long while and sticking with it before observing that your progress has stalled (I was stuck for 3 weeks myself and only just got unstuck today!). When you say that you have a deficit of 500-900 kcal, do you mean that you have…

You need to start making your own I think =) Invest in some Lock&Lock containers and get cooking! I know my weekly food cost is lower than many of my collegaues' because I always pack my lunch (soup/casserole in a thermos). Same with the people who suggested buying big packs of nuts and portion them out. I make my own…

Well given that I'm sitting here waiting for ASDA to deliver a weekly shop (too much bulky stuff for me to take on the bus this week) I'll give my count. I won't eat all of this in a week, some of it will be bulk cooked and some of my snacks will keep me stocked for 2 weeks-ish so I'll count my weekly spend as 66% of the…

I was thinking about this just the other day - how my breath is all nice and steady these days. I started the C25K in August last year so I think it's very much a practice makes perfect journey to find your breath. I listen to music as I run and pace myself to the beat (if I'm struggling I even count…

I walk home, put the food on, jump in the shower and then eat (breakfast/lunch/dinner depending on time of day). For what it's worth I do running & ashtanga yoga with the occasional game of squash or rock climbing sessions thrown in. No heavy lifting.
-
I do ashtanga since November and really like it. I haven't tried Bikram. Ashtanga is a serious work-out IMO, do give it a try and be prepared to hang in there through the entire beginners course.

Salter is a good manufacturer, but I went with an old school set rather than a digital.
