During the work week a cup of Dannon Light, 2X the Protein Vanilla yogurt. Weekends I most likely don't eat until close to lunch time, but if I do it's an omlette with meat and cheese of some kind or maybe a scramble with eggs, meat, cheese, onion, green pepper, and mushrooms. And of course I'm addicted to coffee, so my…

I decided to be very open about it for a number of reasons. First, because we lose so rapidly at first that when the people all around you have never seen you below 300 pounds and you suddenly start losing weight, they either think dying or WLS. Second, for me at least, it's also a great deterrant to allowing myself to…

Probably 24-32 ounces per day. Full strength. I tend to keep the calories to a minimum using sugar and fat free flavored creamers, and not a lot of them. Or I add a scoop of flavored protein powder with a little fat free creamer, so a protein rich coffee. I know this is more than I should be drinking, but I love the stuff.

I have not had this issue at family holiday events or even work events. I did however have this at the home of one of my husband's classmates. After several times of being offered food and drink and saying "no thank you, I'm fine" I finally said "John, I had weight loss surgery, my stomach is too small to eat or drink…

I agree! Beautiful in both but you can really see the difference! Wonderful!!

Good luck on the surgery! And I know exactly how you feel about the social differences when we lose or at least start to lose the excess weight. I blogged on here about feeling invisible at 386, no one talked to me in the elevators or on the street. Now, with most of the weight gone, people talk to me. So excited for you…

Thaeda, you are amazing! Your honesty and ability to communicate how you are doing (good and not so good) is fantastic! We all have these times and the ability to recognize them and own them is so important to our success in maintaining our weight loss long term. I too have been in that situation with work when one of the…

Garber6th, I totally agree! Some days I feel fat. It doesn't mean I'm negating everything I've done or the 164 pounds I've lost. It just means I'm feeling fat. Even people who never had a weight issue sometimes feel fat. It's like feeling irritated for no real reason. And like you, I'm trying to own my feelings and deal…

This would be me. Ice cream and flavored chips were trigger foods and things I couldn't control myself with. I eliminated them from my life presurgery and have not added them back in in any form. My fear is finding I still have no control and sliding down that slippery slope into regain. Maybe others can but frankly I…

I don't need to take anything most days. The weight loss so far has vastly reduced my arthritis pain. But when I do need something I usually take Aleve and yes my bariatric doctor knows this. He's never said I can't since I fully healed.

This is what my doctor and nutritionist told me.

Good luck tomorrow! Your sleeve will let you know when you've had enough. My full cue is feeling like I need to burp. It's amazing how quickly we learn to recognize that feeling of "if I eat or drink anything else I'm going to be really uncomfortable or in pain or in my case, throw up" and you stop. You will learn to trust…

Frankly I pureed almost anything. Since our sleeved tummies don't like dry food, adding a little broth and running through the blender was easy.

Grand Rapids, Michigan. Looking at the back of your left hand, it's the knuckle just below the pinky. ;)

I make small wraps with just about any kind of chopped meat, a little cheese (sometimes I use a cheese spread, and maybe some lettuce. Condiments are optional and if I use the cheese spread, I don't add a condiment. My favorite lunch is: 2 cup bowl with lid (because that's all I can eat) and layer: chopped lettuce mix, 4…

Glad to hear everything went well. If you can't handle the broth you might want to try Isopure Zero. GNC carries it. It's flavored water with lots of protein in it, so it counts for both your water and protein. Good luck and keep posting so we can all see how great you are doing. Pat

Hi Donna. If your doctor has approved you for raw veggies, go ahead and try them. It might be the hummus rather than the cucumber that's causing the heartburn? Pat

This!! I started this journey at 386 and am now at 222. And I do all of these things. I didn't focus on losing a specific amount as suggested. For me focusing on getting to a certain number worked better. First it was 350, the 300 then 275, and so on. Right now I'm working toward 200. Same idea, just a different goal in…

Malesha, I'm Pat, I was sleeved 3 years ago. Congratulations on your loss so far! Truth is, with the sleeve we can eat just about anything we want, just not in the amounts we used to. There are only a couple of things my sleeved tummy just doesn't like, so like everyone else I have to make good choices daily, and for the…

Totally get it! Started at 386, morbidly obese. Now I'm 222 and only overweight! You've done great!

Better nutritionally than most and taste great! With 20 grams of protein, they work well as a meal replacement for me. I wait until GNC runs a sale like the buy one get another at 1/2 price or buy two get one free, and then I purchase. Much less pricy that way.

I seem to remember the discharge paperwork telling me to wait 4 weeks and very strongly warned about being careful not to get pregnant. No worries on the pregnancy thing as I had my tubes tied 27 years prior and was post menapausal. My husband thought the pregnancy warning was hilarious and said if I did, we would be rich…

Yay! Glad the stall has ended and you are so right! Usually when we are stalled we are losing inches rather than pounds. It's that one pound of muscle being smaller in size physically than one pound of fat. So happy for you!

Awesome! You look amazing!

I really couldn't drink the too thick, too sweet protein shakes in the beginning either. They kept me in the hosptial an extra day because I couldn't get even one whole shake down in a full day! I did so much better at home with the protein infused chicken and beef broth and the Isopure. I lived on those for the liquid…

Hildabean, I went through a ton of tests presurgery. Most of the testing was normal for all of us, but I did have a few that were specific just to me. Hang in there and try not to worry too much. I too was so afraid that this wouldn't work either. I was wrong, I'm not failing, I am succeeding. Hang in there and know that…

I "researched" the various surgeries for 2 years, all the while telling myself I could do it on my own, and all the while going up and down the same 40 pounds. Then I finally hit my personal wall and had to admit I wasn't able to do it on my own. Not lose it and not keep it off. I've lost 164 pounds so far, not to goal…

Wow! I'm impressed!

I make my own soups, chicken and beef varieties and chili usuing ground beef or ground turkey. I make my own because I can load up the protein by adding more meat or beans, and keeping the sodium and fat lower than any pre packaged or canned once.
