Favor request of anyone who has had the excess tummy skin removed
I am guardian of my mentally impaired sister. Before I got guardianship, she was talked into having gastric bypass. She isn't capable of understanding the surgery or what WLS patients have to do to make weight loss successful long term so although she initially lost about 90 pounds before she "re-stretched her stomach"…

Purposely being more active in your daily life.
I just posted this on my wall but thought I would add it here too. Just like we need to be mindful of our eating, we also need to be mindful of our activities/movements throughout our days. I just went to the basement in my building to get the mail and since I needed to also go to the bank branch on the first floor, I took…

How do we know when we're done losing - even if we don't want to be?
We all know that with WLS we are told we will lose about 60-70% of our excess weight. at my lowest I have lost 57.5%. As some of you know, I got down to 222 and then through the holidays bounced back up to 232, all just plain bad eating. The first week I was "back on track" I lost 5, so was at 227. Since then I have…

Ladies: Shapers, Support and Compression Garments
I have a lot of excess skin on my upper arms and thighs. I only wear 3/4 length or long sleeves and carpis, crop or long pants. My one and only skirt is ankle length (thank God that style came back!). Today I have on my skirt. Now understand pantyhose is impossible because of the difference between my size 16 waist and my…

Shapers
I've had weight loss surgery and am down 133 pounds. I still have 93 to go to what my surgeon says is my "ideal" weight. However, I also have 2 hernias that were not fixed during surgery, but will be addressed later when I'm done losing. In the meantime, the more weight I lose the more the hernia above the waistline shows.…

Hello!
I had my gastric sleeve July 2011. I've lost 114 pounds, only 51.8% of the excess weight. I've been stalled for the last 2 months. According to the Dietician, it's because I'm not eating enough calories or protien on the weekends. My week day eating is very regular and I can get in my protien easy, but Saturday and Sundays…
