Milk isn't great for iron absorption, neither is anything with phosphate in it. Also, tannins and lots of fibre can decrease it's absorption. Ascorbic acid which is found in Vitamin C (and i'm sure some other foods) is a good way of increasing it though! Good luck :)

It can be a disease if you have a leptin deficiency which is a hormone that tells your brain to stop eating! Not sure how common a leptin deficiency is though.

I used to only weigh myself every week.. because I was too scared to look and see that my hard work wasn't paying off! Now I weigh myself every day and it keeps me motivated to keep on top of things. But I don't record the changes until I see the same weight for about 3 days :)

That is amazing for 6 weeks! nice work!!!
-
This happened to me too! I like to think it was because I was building muscle... but weight isn't always the best indicator - have you taken your measurements? Maybe mix things up a bit and try reduce your calories with same exercise. See what works for you! Keep at it :)

I've never tried protein shakes but would love to know what the benefits are of taking it!

This has happened to me too! I'm around the same weight as you and when I started on MFP I ate about 1000 calories a day and exercised a load and absolutely no weight came off, which I think was (a) muscle gain cause my legs have become more toned, and (b) I wasn't eating enough!! Over the last two weeks I have upped my…

From my experience (every one is different though) upping the cardio is what I would recommend (combined with a good diet). I started off doing loads of weights and that toned all my muscle but no weight loss. Now I have upped my cardio and the weight is falling off!! Depends what you want, or you could try different…

This happened to me, felt like I was eating enough but it was only about 800 calories a day - and I didn't lose anything! Now i'm eating a few small meals instead and snacking lots, but havn't weighed myself in a while...! Hopefully it's good news when I do!
-
Wow, that is just inspirational! How did you do it PLEASE!!
-
I have the exact same problem - eating well (usually) and exercising loads - and my body is not changing! I figure just to keep up and SURELY something will happen - good luck :)

Thanks so much for your reply - I can give you answers!! I am bad at tracking my water, I have about 2 750mL bottles a day and the only other thing I usually drink is almond milk which is about 70Cal a cup. MFP set my calorie goal to 1200 but I found that it encouraged me to eat more than I usually would so I lowered it…

Yes I'm interested!!! But I don't know how on earth I will achieve it, any suggestions? A group sounds great :)

I think I have just worked out how to make my diary public - maybe it will give more information! Excuse my sweet tooth...

Thank you all so much! Maybe it is water weight - I am lifting reasonably heavy weights compared to the rest of the class, enough to notice some quad definition already (which is very exciting!). Hopefully my next weigh in is more successful. And Beyonce - my goal body! Though that will require some serious hard work :)

Wooooo female cyclists!!! My friend and I do consider us a rare breed - but all the more better reason to show the roads what we got! Such an efficient way of getting around and seeing so much! Keep at it!!! :)

Don't give up! Take small steps - your first was joining fitness pal! Set yourself challenges - just one day at a time - tomorrow if you binge, cut out at least one type of food that you binge on. Don't try to replace it, or replace it with something healthy. Once you can do it once there is no excuse not to do it again.…
