  • First, CONGRATS on your awesome weight loss!!!! Second, as others have said...you aren't crazy hairy. I wouldn't say you have a 'sweater' there =). Having said that, I personally wish all men would wax their chests. I am weird on hair. My hubby is working out hard and getting toned. I asked him the other day if I could get…
  • What SHE said below!!!! Find a salon that has VersaSpa...these booths are AWESOME....NOTHING like Mystic Tan or the other competitors. I don't really do these in the winter (but I'm going to do one before my next 'progress pic' in a bikini...ha) I do these all spring/summer long. Totally hooked. VersaSpa ROOOCCCKKSS.
  • I saw that one, too. I don't know how that trainer could deal with that girl at first. She was such a whiny cry baby! I'm pretty soft hearted, but I myself was thinking how bad I would want to smack her or walk out with her whiny tantrums. And I was about to puke when she was huddled on the floor of the gym…

Both went well and knowing I…
  • I 'warm up' before I go all out on a workout, but I really do my static stretches only after a workout...not before. I injured myself pretty badly stretching before once. I ease my muscles into warm-up and then have a hard workout and then spend a good amount of time stretching after (and NO bouncing). That's what works…
  • I look at my weight daily, but for me the week BEFORE that time of the month is crazy. I can go up 3, 4 or 5 lbs. It helps me to look at my weight every day and now I understand not to freak out when this happens as in a week or so it's gone. It's water.
  • Sending you a friend request now! I'm in KS...I hear ya on the weather!
  • YOU ROCK!!! Really a MAJOR difference!!! You should be SO proud of yourself!!!! Way to go!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hey Mom! You will do great. This site has been such an encouragement for me. Great people and focus on making lasting, maintainable life changes - not yo yo dieting, etc. Lots of people on here at goal who continue to log to maintain. I love that. And the food database is huge. You can do this! Do you work out 3X a week or…
  • My fave is to use a big insulated cup with a straw. My motivation to sip all day is to think of all the FAT and toxins floating out of my body =) =). Agree with everyone else that the headaches are from caffeine withdrawal. Also if you just cut out artificial sweeteners you can get a detox headache from that.
  • Screen Name: ThinMamaDoo Starting Weight on January 1, 2011: 152 Goal weight by January 31, 2011: 142 January 8th Weight: 147.6 WOOOOOOOOOOOT!!! Have put 350 minutes of exercise in so far this week and stayed under calorie goal daily by just a bit.
  • I have shed lots of tears privately about this topic. It is so tough. Keep working to find professionals you trust and go with your gut. For my son the rubber really hit the road in second grade. The independent work really ramped up and he just couldn't get it done. He is crazy smart, too. He is still very young, so just…
  • I just want to tell you that if you ever need to chat I am here. My son is 9 years old and has Inattentive type ADHD. I resisted for so long to get him assessed...though we knew there were issues, based on feedback all the way reaching back from pre-school. He can be impulsive and hyper at times, too, but when tested it…
  • LaDolce Vita - GREAT POST!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I LOVE this idea!!!! Right now I'm 13 lbs over my DL weight...ick. But, my goal weight is lower than my DL weight and I hate my picture - I have super short hair in the pic...nothing like my current style. GREAT idea!!!
  • What utes09 said...don't go by the MFP calories - it's so different depending on the program you use on the machine and your weight. I have to use a HRM to get it right.
  • This January challenge already has me SO motivated!!! Thanks for setting it up!
  • I know a lot of people do it. But, literally everyone in 2010 who tried to get me to run barefoot or 'minimal' (namely the Vibrams) ended up with stress fractures in their feet. Hmm...I wonder if by the fact we've been in shoes so long we'd have to **really*** ease into barefoot running without injury. The two most recent…
  • This is an amazing thread! Thanks for starting it! I hope more people post. I am fascinated by all the amazing people here!!!
  • What a great idea! I tend to be very hard on myself - I definitely see the benefit of doing something like this. OK, I'll give it a go (these are all out of order timeline, wise....I am ADD off the hook): 1. Asked my parents to let me leave public high school to go to private boarding school - with that change I left all…
  • oatmeal with some fruit on top, protein smoothie, greek yogurt with some fruit or a little bit of honey, bagel thin with poached egg...some ideas...
  • I use a mix that gives me a 240 calorie protein shake. I use it as my breakfast most days. I like it because I get high quality whey protein and it's fast and easy. It's also loaded with other good nutrition.
  • Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!! Screen Name: ThinMamaDoo Starting Weight on January 1, 2011: 152 Goal weight by January 31, 2011: 142 What is your exercise plan?: 60 minutes at least 6 days a week / cardio and strength Are you going to do a specific diet?: logging food, stay within cals, balanced diet, limit alcohol What is…
  • I weighed about 115 in high school. I don't want to be that thin again. In college I weighed between 118 and 125 and that was my favorite weight to be. I was a size 4 and yet still had curves in the right places ;-). My dream weight is 125. But, I would be ecstatic to get to 130 and maintain that. I am 5'7" with small bone…
  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE LIVING MY DREAM, GIRL!!!   GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • WOW, WOW, WOW! You are ROCKING it!!!! Keep up the fantastic work!!!!!!! I hear you on pizza. I believe, for the most part, everything in moderation. But, pizza has been OUT for me because I cannot control myself with it!
  • I try to work out HARD the morning of the day I have something. I feel better, more energized and I have more calories to work with! I did this on both Thanksgiving and Christmas and was SO glad I did! Also did this for several holiday parties.
  • I think I would have been annoyed...but then just pick up the phone and call for sushi takeout and go pick it up. I had sushi carryout last night. I hear ya - it is one of my absolutely faves, too! Phone some in and pick it up!
  • I do a mix of bootcamps and home and signing up for races. The bootcamps and races get me to push harder, but home keeps me consistent. Can't come up with many excuses not to use my elliptical or weights or dvds in my house. Also, for whatever reason in a giant gym setting I'm not comfortable or something and I tend to do…
