I don't readily share this because I cringe that the products are sold via direct marketing - but I DO think they are quality products. I like their Isalean shakes (I like the chocolate) - a lot of people won't like them because they aren't very sweet...but that is what I like about them :). Low sugar, natural ingredients,…

Wow! What an INCREDIBLE journey you have been on. What an inspiration you are!!!! I love that your name is JOY, too!!! You were named well! Thank you for sharing!!!!

AMEN! I now my key to success in maintaining my goal is to keep on logging!!!

Keep a BIG sip cup of COLD water nearby and go to comfort things like homemade/low sodium soup that contains veggies and lowfat protein to fill you up. You can actually BURN some cals drinking very cold water...your body works a little bit to warm that water up ;-). Granted...not a whole lot...but you could burn around 70…

ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH BELOW!!! That is true for me, anyway. I see a lot of talk about depression, obsession, etc. - IF you are that affected by the scale then by all means you do what works for you. For me, it is an accountability issue....and because I weigh daily I absolutely understand that hormones, salt intake, etc.…

A super personal thing - agreed that clothes can tell you a lot...but for me I need the scale to tell me that I'm staying on track. Historically, in jags where I ignore the scale I do not hold myself accountable and really put on the pounds (or did not lose if I was in the midst of trying to lose). I've been maintaining at…

Are you looking specifically at Fiber One brand or open to any other fiber ideas? Fiber One bars are really junky - highly processed...full of ingredients your body most definitely does NOT need. Yes, they taste good, but at what cost? I have been amazed by how much better I feel since eating cleaner. If you really need a…

RORE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loving that I made your list, as I am always chick flirtin' with you =) =) RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWRRR =) You made my day, girly!

VERY subjective...best thing to do is go to a reputable running store and have them watch your gait (some places even do an impression to see how your foot carries your weight through your stride and some places use video/PC technology). Based on what they see they can recommend the right shoe. i pronate on both feet,…

Do you take both Concerta and an anti-depressant? Concerta being a stimulant type ADHD drug should not in anyway inhibit weight loss. If anything, a lot of people abuse these drugs to surpress appetite. My son takes an ADHD drug and we have to really watch his caloric intake to be sure he does not lose weight. As far as…

NO portion control AT ALL with Pizza...oh, and diving into (almost literally) a bag of salt and vinegar kettle style chips (again with ZERO portion control). I still really can't handle those foods well with portion control so I've kind of stayed away for the most part. I have been at kid events where pizza was only food…

GREAT job!!! And that's a great first 5K time! You are doing SO AWESOME!!! DOWN 86 LBS and running a 5K!! SWEEET!!! I laughed reading your ambulance comment because that is pretty much exactly what I said to my husband when he asked me what my goal was (he was asking time-wise). I told him my goal was to finish it, no…

@oxnina - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Everyone, thanks so much for your replies and support. Still more work to do, but MFP has been the MOST useful tool EVER. FINALLY, for the first time in my LIFE I am understanding how to actually eat and how critical finess is. No gimmicky diets, no starvation, no shortcuts. In fact, I've had…

Absolute ditto. I actually use 2 puffs of my Ventolin about 20 minutes before my workout and of course I keep it with me during workouts. The first month of tough workouts I still would end up tight and coughing at times. Just listen to your body. I do not have severe asthma (mine is mainly exercise induced, cold induced…

INCREDIBLE!!!!! That SMILE on your face says it all!!!! You look awesome! I can tell you FEEL AWESOME!!!! GREAT WORK!!!!!!!! Don't even look like the same guy!!!

I am not a realtor, but a banker....property tax calculations vary widely dependent upon where the property is. The base calculation does start with the square footage of finished space of the dwelling and any outer buildings on the land plus the actual land. But, the actual taxes levied against the property vary wildly,…

LOVE this! So true...my husband and I compliment each other really well in terms of shoring up each other's strengths and weaknesses. I am more creative and spontaneous. He is better with financial stuff and is practical and helps keep us on track. I help him cut loose =) We do have a LOT in common in terms of our tastes…

Awww..*LOVE* this - yes, I am a smell person, too. My husband smells good and he doesn't wear cologne regularly. He just smells clean and good =).

This is me...when I was younger I went for athletic tall guys. Then, I met my husband and I was enamored with him instantly. He is only 5'8 " - an inch taller than me (so when I wear heels..which I do a lot...people think I'm taller...but, he's cool with that) and weighs around 150. He's fit and loves to do things outside.…

I heart squats...they have given my toosh quite the lift =). I love doing squat tibatas (30 seconds of squats, then 10 seconds break, then repeat this sequence 7 more times). Also love doing dumbell thrusters - hold arms bent 90 degrees, hold dumbells in each hand, palms facing forward, squat deep, then come up and…

The Sunday Reconciliation part in your post tipped me off to you being Catholic. Again, I am SO sorry. Please know, in NO way was I implying it was your fault that she cheated. SHE made that choice. I was just making the point of the TOUGH work ahead likely for both of you if you decide to try to make this work. I agree…

Before I got married, I told my husband that cheating was the ONE thing that for certain would guarantee him I'd divorce him. Prior to marriage, I had experience a couple of boyfriends cheating on me and I needed my future husband to know that was a DEALBREAKER for me. Fast forward to today. We have two kids in elementary…

Do you weigh yourself daily? If that is just one day's weight, DON'T log it. It may be hormonal or salt, etc. That happened to me a while back and I FREAKED OUT and then it was gone in a day or two. I now weigh every morning and I don't take a loss as a loss or a gain as a gain unless I see it for a few mornings in a row.…

Sorry...I double posted by accident.

I eat plain organic greek yogurt. Doesn't seem to be "highly processed" or "full of sugar." For me it's a good protein snack and calcium source that keeps hunger away. Sometimes, I will put a touch of berries or organic honey on top.

Absolutely ZERO lost...but, absolutely ZERO gained, right? It's TOM and I went overboard on sodium past couple of nights even though I stayed within my cals. Still feel proud of this week. Got a lot of great workouts in and stayed within my cals everyday, except one day where I went 30 calories in the hole. Next week, here…

Cool chart! Thanks! That is motivating!!! Nervous about my weigh in tomorrow. Stayed under on cals everyday, but salt has been kind of high the past two days...eeek.

First, I am SO sorry you are so sick. Right now, focus on healing. I was going to offer the same ideas that were already - UP, UP the protein (like if you can add Whey protein powder to even oatmeal, make smoothies, etc.) and if you can do some resistance stuff with maybe bands - even lying down so you don't ramp up your…
