Interesting thread. My tummy tuck is scheduled for tomorrow, November 9th. Dr. advised me not to count the excess skin removal toward weight loss. Thankfully I'm at goal weight and any additional off will be counted as a blessing. I'll post when I'm able to.

Last weekend I did an 8k and finished it. A huge accomplishment for me. That was a first. I walked and ran it, mostly ran. There are people of all shapes and sizes at these events! Its usually a cause you're support, so go out there, support your cause and have fun getting fit and healthy. I was freaked out by all the thin…

After struggling for many many years and trying many different diet plans and programs, I finally found something that worked for me. I gave up flour and sugar. In the 4 months since I've not eaten flour and sugar products I've lost 32 lbs. My food is now very clean, no processed foods. I'm much healthier and happier these…

That's great that you would post this! I had the same revelation when mine fit around me...I just didn't post it :-) But I'm glad you did! Congrats and keep up the good work!
-
Wow, that was awesome and worked perfectly. Thank you so much!

Ok I must confess, I'm a big WUSS. I just sat here and read every single one of your post and am balling my eyes out!!!! Thank you all so much for the wonderful words of encouragement, praise, compliments, etc. I have honestly, truly and literally worked extremely hard to get these results. I've gone from a couch potato to…

Thanks ladies...that was really fast. I was trying to figure out how to make the image smaller while you all were posting. If anyone knows how, please let me know...thank you!

Don't give up. Whatever you do, just keep trying. I too thought I would die during w1d1 of c25k. I had been doing the program for about 8 weeks and did my first 5k this past Sunday. My time was phenomenal by anyones standards but my own. I was so proud of myself for finishing the race running. I'm also overweight, I don't…

Yes. Weigh and measure everything!

I have never hit that 5 week goal. I'm always over, but I press on. As stated above, every day is different. It's just an estimate and I don't let it give me false hope.

If you like Turbo Jam then you'll like Turbo Fire. From what I understand the programs are nearly the same. I'm doing Turbo Fire now, I'm in week 3. It's a lot of cardio, but not 60 minutes a day. Some days at HIIT days which runs from 15 - 30 minute sessions. You could always do more if you want. One class is 55 minutes,…

Sorry I missed this! I just finished week 5 and I ran for 34 minutes instead of the required 20 minutes. On day 2 I ran for 20 minutes instead of 8. This program is doable. Just breathe and push yourself through it.
-
Yup, great program. I use C25K too. I just finished week 5 and was able to run for 34 minutes non-stop and cover 2.5 miles. Quite an accomplishment for someone who 5 weeks ago couldn't even run 90 seconds!

Great post Heather...even more reasons to continue doing what we do...and leaning to LOVE it!

I'm also in MD, Silver Spring/Takoma Park area of MoCo

Yeah, those are my goals too...to run the 5k not walk any of it...if possible. On W4D3, I actually was feeling really good during my run and went off the program for an interval. I was able to run for 13 minutes without stopping. I did it again on W5D1 but this time I ran more than 14 minutes. So I'm not too worried about…

That looks like so much fun but scary at the same time! Kudos to you for concurring your fears and doing it!

Hey there, I'm on W5D2 tomorrow. Day 1 of week 5 wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Day 2 the run gets a little longer, 8 minutes and then Day 3 goes to 20 minutes. .. that one I'm afraid of! Surprisingly, the 5 minute run didn't bother me at all. Remember to breathe and pace yourself. Keep putting one foot in…

Sorry no advice, but wow, awesome goals! I'm impressed with your desire. I'm also doing C25K. My next goal would be to do a 10K. Good luck!
-
Congratulations...what an accomplishment! You should feel great about this!

Nacho just hang in there and keep pushing through it. I was never a runner, am still NOT a runner and have have only run 1 mile 2 times in my entire life. I'm also training for a 5K. Mine will be May 1st...I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I know that even if I can't run the whole thing, walking 3 miles is much…

I don't track the distance that I walk/run with C25K. I actually do each interval twice until I reach 1 hour of walking and running. I would encourage you to push on to week 4. I'm starting week 5 tomorrow and like you I was deathly afraid of the 5 minute runs of week 4. Here's a little bit of encouragement for you. On…

I'm doing C25K along with Turbo Fire and it works for me. I guess it just depends on your goals and your time.
-
The C25K program by coolrunnings that I'm doing does NOT tell you to run 1/2 mile. It gives you the amount of time to run. So I'm not sure where you're getting that distance from. The people that wrote that program wrote it for beginners and know dang well beginners don't/can't run that fast. Just concentrate on going the…

I think it's perfectly fine to break it up into 2 sessions. I workout twice a day 6 days a week, before and after work. I think it depends on you, your schedule and how you feel. Go for it.

Just keep on doing what you're doing. It appears to be working. Accountability is what keeps me on track. Watching my health get better and my waist line get smaller keeps me motivated. Good luck with your journey! It's doable...not easy but doable.
-
Yup, I do it too. Thankfully mine are far and few between instances. Last night I ate an entire container of Snickerdoodle cookies from WholeFoods. 14 cookies! I should have been happy with 2 but, no, I ate the entire container. Which is why I can't have stuff like that in the house. This morning I just came back in from…

I put the scale in the trunk of the car. Only comes out the morning of weigh ins. Tough but it worked. AND when I finally did weigh this week...was down 1.6 lbs. That was so worth the wait without watching the ups and downs all week. Get the scale out of your line of view so you're not so tempted.

I just started on Friday. No results to post just yet. I do like the program and look forward to the firedrills where I can really push myself. Good luck and don't do anything to injure yourself further by trying to do this program. It is really intense on the knees and ankles.
