Remember who the "losers" are in this situation ... you're a winner just by being out there working out! Keep up the great work and THANK YOU for your contribution to such important health issues through the marathons you run.

Elle - congrats on your tremendous weight loss! It's really amazing and I hope you are feeling change in your health and your outlook on life. Remember, the prizes and contests are fleeting but the real prize is improving your health!

Without any thought or reference to horror movies, I named my children Jason and Cari. I definitely got what I deserved! :o)

Thank you all so much for the great ideas! Veggies may never be my favorite thing but at least I'm willing to give some of these things a try. I did have a ton of veggies today (salad, asparagus, broccoli) but with cheese or cream sauce. Not the healthiest way to do it but at least I ate them. Tomorrow I'm definitely…

Thanks, these are good ideas! I will try bagging them and freezing for later use. Carrots are okay and I've included shredded carrots in a lot of things just to sneek in vegetables. I am not a fan of brussel sprouts, spinach (I keep trying but just don't like it), green peppers (red, yellow and orange are okay in fajitas),…

HA! Glad to know the feeling is mutual ... but ya' know, I did correct myself in the post to say I just don't "like" them. :o)

Not complaining... just asking for ideas to make veggies more platable. No complaints ... just truly seeking ideas. And, by the way, I don't eat fast food or anything loaded with sugar. Just not a fan of the texture and taste of veggies.

I believe your motivation ran away with mine and they're on quite the binge! I have to physically put something over, on top of, or in front of the chocolate to make me stop and think as I'm reaching for it. Right now there's a baseball cap over the chocolate basket at work. If I have to move something to get to it then I…

I'm a lap swimmer who wears a size 22 suit! I LOVE the water and have been a swimmer all my life. I don't necessarily like how I look in a swimsuit but I'm never, ever going to give it up because of what other people might think or say! It's great exercise! I have found that Longitude suits (available at many stores and…

HA! The Doritos I could give up without looking back ... it's the darned chocolate that gets me everytime! Evil, evil temptations!

I do take Celebrex everyday. I thought it was more to manage flexibility and stiffness from osteoarthritis. I've not heard of it being prescribed for injuries. I doubt that it would do much for the injury itself. Perhaps the anti-inflammatory effect would have some benefit but I really would question it as a "treatment"…

Joyce -- the beauty of MFP is the support you receive from others. We ALL backslide occasionally. It's human nature. The difference here is that you are always welcome here. We don't judge; we just support each other. I've been on this journey my whole life. Many, many ups and downs. I've been a part of the MFP community…

Love your Lab! Mine is chocolate, of course!

Ah, a fellow chocoholic after my own heart! Yes, I think many of us (even the old ladies) are fairly dedicated to the exercise, it's the food that is so hard to control. Good luck with your journey and welcome to MFP! Cheryl

I'm thrilled when I see close to 1000 calories burned! You must really be working hard. Good for you!

Swimming is an excellent way to get upper-body strength and definition. When I needed to lose inches off my upper-back and arms to fit into a mother-of-the-bride dress last Fall, I upped my swimming routine to 5 days a week. In two weeks time I was able to trim 2 inches off my upper-back/chest area.

Sometimes it's really overwhelming when you think about the whole goal of losing weight, eating healthy, exercising and staying on track every single day. The big goal is just too big! So, try to take a few mini-steps each day toward each of those larger goals. Make yourself a list of mini-goals to follow each day and…

Chris - I sure hope your appointment went well this morning! I doubt that many women are looking forward to a GYN appointment! You must realize from the GYN vantage point, they probably do not remember faces! :o) But I'm really sure she noticed the change on the weight chart. Hopefully she let you sit up so that you could…

Chris - I could not agree with you more if I were your sister!!! I hate these shows. I guess I understand folks like them for entertainment, but I just do not wholly agree with making someone the focus of a "reality" show because of their weight. How can that be positive thing, no matter what they lose. I don't find any…

Maybe you're overtired! I mean you have been working very hard over a sustained time. Is your body telling you it needs a rest day? Hang in there and feel better! Cheryl
-
Kate - I have days like that. I think the more exercise we do the hungrier we are. I guess that's the way it's supposed to work! :ohwell: I have a very difficult time on days that I swim laps. I swim at 6:00 a.m. for over an hour without stopping. I'm starving by the time I'm finished and get to work. I have to have a bowl…

Looking good! What a great feeling to reach those big milestones along the way. Even with plateaus, milestones like logging every day are important and worth the hard work! You give me hope that things will start to progress again soon! Thanks for being such a great cheerleader, Chris.

Wow! I am not a medical person but have had this happen (much, much less severe) to me in the past. It does get hot and humid up here in Michigan. We've been pushing 90 degrees with 80-90% humidity. It's not so much the heat, but the humidity that really takes its toll on me. But, I must say this, you folks in the South…

Chris - I do agree with you. It is very hurtful to hear negative comments about anyone's appearance, even if you are talking about yourself. We are all on this journey together -- whether we have 10 pounds or 100+ pounds to lose. And each of us (every single one of us!) is trying to do the right thing - to be healthy and…

Wonderful ideas! Thanks for the suggestions. You're right! Exercising away from your normal routine can be just what you need to stay motivated. What a terrific way to see the place you are visiting.

Thanks everyone. Glad to hear I'm not alone. It's much better today. I did stay under my calorie goal yesterday but went over on carbs and protein. Must have been what my body needed cause I'm my normal self today.
-
Thanks ya'll. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Perhaps I will try some 100 cal bag popcorn -- that might expand enough to fill the bottomless pit! I still have about 300 calories before I go over since I did work out today, but I want to make sure that if I eat those 300 calories that I'm not still craving for more. I can't…

Way to go! Plateaus are definitely a bummer. Mine lasted 5 months before breaking! It nearly broke me! I'm so glad to be beyond it now but I'm very aware that it could come back at any time. Keep up the good work.
-
How awesome! You've achieved so much already! You should be very proud of yourself. I love the new goal of continuing on the same path and letting your body decide. Just call this your healthy lifestyle goal and keep of the great work!

I discovered this delicious combination a few weeks ago when I was craving chocolate so badly ... 1 jello chocolate mousse cup (60 calories), 1/2 cup fresh strawberries sliced (23 calories) and 2 Tablespoons of Cool Whip Free (20 calories) = 103 calories of yummy, yummy goodness!
