Thanks countrydevil, do you know if any bluetooth hrm will work with sports tracker? I was under the impression that for them to be linked it had to be their brand?
-
I currently use sports tracker to monitor my rides with my nokia e6 and I like the app but it seems to be very generous with the calories, they sell a hrm to go with it but I have been unable to get any info on it prior to buying one
-
Thank you, do you enter all of your information on it like age, weight etc? I really have no idea here how these work

I am diabetic so I had to go to the dr's when I got some bad blisters and I was told to NEVER pop a blister under any circumstances as you can get no end of problems from it, buy some medicated blister plasters to aid healing

Count me in, I started cycling again a few months ago for the first time in 20 years just to try to shed some weight, I bought a second hand bike for £30 and managed to cycle just short of 900 miles in August on it dropping about 10lbs in the process, I cycled 28.6 miles today taking me to 297 for the month so far.…

24.3 miles today taking me to 161 so far this month, think I should set my target to a 1000 as I did 900 in August but that was hard work !!

I try to cycle 200 miles a week to lose weight and get fit, 2 months ago I struggled to tie my shoelaces myself and now I can ride 100k in a day. My logic is have you ever seen a fat cyclist in the tour de france? Thought not !!

Thanks Scott, I will give it a try

I paid £30 for my bike on a facebook selling page 2 months ago and I cycled just short of 900 miles in August on it without a problem, I use sports tracker to monitor my rides and calorie loss etc and I find that really pushes me to ride further and harder every time I ride, the only thing I did to my bike was fit smoother…

I'm in, I started cycling to lose weight a few months ago and track my rides with sports tracker, I cycled 893 miles in August and lost 8lbs in doing so.... http://www.sports-tracker.com/#/workout/gregsonevans/1jua55drnsntcer0

Depends on what type of cycling you want to do, avoid buying a bike with fancy suspension unless you plan on doing some serious offroad cycling as it only adds weight, as a general rule the lighter the bike the better they tend to be but if you have not rode for over 10 years why not just get a cheap second hand bike first…

When I use the exercise bike it says that I burn almost twice as much as my partner as she is nearly half my weight, looks like I need to invest in a HRM to be sure though
-
Plus I think I burn more calories than you as I am still over 17 stone :(
-
The calories are all worked out by sports tracker by taking into account climbs etc but I never get close to eating them all back anyway, they are very similar to what mfp work them out at though
-
Not had that much work on the last few weeks so I have put all my efforts into getting fitter (doctor's orders), when I am working I still try to get 15 or more miles done, I have cycled about 900 miles in the last month :)
