  • You must get there---you will see the diversity of people and all of the things that you can do to get yourself in shape. You do NOT need 2 hours at the gym. One hour is good; focus mainly on your diet--that's where it's at. Take a tour of the gym, talk to the trainer showing you around. There are so many things you can…
  • Hi:) Having trouble viewing your food diary. Also, most importantly, have you been to the doctor to rule out anything that could be contributing to your struggle to lose weight? Getting bloodwork is very important for you to see what you need to do as far as making the changes necessary.
  • Bumping this up for useful information:)
  • Love that you shared this with all of us and congratulations on your hard work and dedication on your journey!!!!!!:) You are REAL, you keep it real and you are living real. Not restricted. You have backslides and you come right back up. Amazing lady:)
  • Exactly!!:) For me, personally, even just a little bit of the candy/cake, etc, would set me up to eat too much of it. That's just how I roll, so, I stay away from it, and I have been losing weight--and being healthy. I don't want to be thin and feeling like crap; I want to feel wonderful; junk makes me feel lethargic and…
  • Most Chinese restaurants will prepare your dish to your needs. If you are on a special diet, let them know and they can recommend some light fare for you. If you can have rice, broccoli is good, Lo Mein, kung pao chicken, steamed shrimp with veggies--oh! steamed rice is good, but get a half portion. Don't eat the crispy…
  • Love, love, love that idea:)
  • There are temptations around me each day, Easter is no different. I have a dinner planned. Turkey, veggies, rolls for the family, potatoes for the family. I will have turkey and a salad. Dessert is cake. I will have hot cocoa with whipped cream and pecans. They can have the candy; it doesn't serve me; it only makes me eat…
  • Chocolate. M & Ms, for example. I cannot stop eating it. Oreo cookies, Tastykake. If it's not there, I can't eat it. I just gave it up because I cannot control myself with it.
  • Love cashews, but they are on the 'higher' side of carb count. Each body responds differently, but try to not have cashews--try fire roasted pumpkin seeds instead--you can have 1/2 a cup at only 2g carbs!!!!!:) Ditch the cashews for like a week and see what happens;) And good luck to you on your journey. It's a difficult…
  • omg, I think I'm in love:) This looks like a good recipe!!!!!!!! at only 2g carbs per serving, I will try this!
  • I second this!!!! I add a splash of unsweetened coconut milk and 2 tbs of whipped topping. It's a light and easy snack to take the edge off and keeps me within my carbs for the day. I love the idea of a pudding, but would rather have chocolate than avocado, and I don't have the taste buds for stevia/truvia, etc.
  • Feel free to add me as well;) We low carbers could use all the support we can get:)
  • Ketchup!! Initially I had to give it up as I am on a low carb diet. Ketchup is my blood type, I love it so much. One day as I was grocery shopping, I found that Heinz has a reduced sugar version with only 1g of carbs in it. I can have ketchup again!!!! I also had to replace quiche with crustless quiche. I make it so that…
  • Thank you, Frob23. I have read that cheese and nuts are an instigator; two things I have been eating more of these days, since going low carb. Either that or, being low sugar. But the natural peanut butter did help take the edge off today.
  • Thank you; I def need a multivitamin, for sure. I was hoping this low carb thing would be easy peasy, but I have these days where this migraine happens.
  • WOW!!!!!!! Lots of changes taking place!!! That is great!!!!:) 19 lbs in 25 days is a lot and quite an accomplishment. Keep healthy and strong:)
  • Where's the fire? What does you doctor say? Talk to your physician. Your body will respond when it is ready. However, that said, I was put on a low carb lifestyle change and I lost a lot of weight in the first week; it is mostly water weight and if you are not careful, you could put all of it back on. Please see your…
  • Bumping this up; this explains it all for me:)
  • I just sent you a friend request. I know from whence you come. It can be difficult making that transition to processed foods--even the ones we think are supposed to be good for us. Healthy living takes planning. Planning your meals ahead is a good thing. For breakfast, I make a crustless spinach quiche in advance and take…
  • Thank you:) Luckily I found one from a chain restaurant the hubby brought home yesterday. I try my best to take the topping off without getting bread stuck to it. The listing looked reasonable. I could eat an entire pizza topping, LOL:)
  • I have made cauliflower pizza in the past and could not stop eating it--it's a pain in the badoobies to make, though, but pretty good. I will try the faux carb one that you mentioned. I will never not want pizza!!!!:)
  • I've been making crustless spinach quiche; I have enough for the week, so I take a slice and put it in the microwave. I also have green tea with 1/2 packet of sugar and I am full for a good few hours.
  • When I was eating a lot of junk; I didn't have to do much shopping, because a few boxes of cookies and cakes would last me. Now, I am buying fruits and veggies and have to go every few days. I make salad in 2 quart jars, and make enough to last the week. My list is as follows: hearts of romaine lettuce-6 pack roma tomatoes…
  • Trying to streamline, but tonight it left me hungry and quite resentful. But it's something I have to do. Thanks so much for your helpful info:)
  • My husband said I need more sodium--I felt tired around lunch--could have been because I was busy cleaning all morning, but I 'bonked', as he calls it. Says I need electrolytes and sodium. I used to love drinking Gatorade G2, only 7 carbs, but that would have put me over my 50 today and I don't think it's worth it. Do low…
  • Thank you both so much. I was on another site where many people say "it works; I have done this lots of times"---THAT is what I don't want to have to do. go on this 'lots of times'. If it works, why would they go off and off and on? Eek. I just want to be sure I am doing the right thing for my health and for my goal---and…
  • It was kale, but I stopped buying it because it was wasteful:/ Raw spinach, too. Oh, strawberries. I have to absolutely be in the mood for them, and lately with low carb living, I push them on the family or I end up tossing them out.
  • I am on day 13 of a low carb diet. My Endo didn't tell me how many to shoot for, so I am clueless. He just simply said to follow a low carb diet and the rest of my weight will come off. I lost a good 10 pounds so far, but now it's slowing down. I thought I was eating healthy, but turns out, I was eating alot of carbs.…
  • It's the type of fruits, such as grapes, bananas, oranges, for example. These are high glycemic and also high carb. I was eating an orange with each meal-my Endo says this is too many carbs/sugars ==I was wondering why I wasn't losing anymore weight, thought it was all about my being hypothyroid. Nope. Too many higher…
